I really struggled with a pregnancy pillow last time, but I get so hot in bed anyway so was just a dripping mess with a honking great pillow.

I was really enjoying my tea tonight for the first time in ages and vommed it back up before I’d even finished 😔 no more ondansetron so I’d better get used to it.

eleanorsos · 03/05/2020 19:14

Evening ladies, anyone else got their scan tomorrow? Got mine around lunchtime, no reason to think it won't be fine but still 😬😬

12 + 2 today and starting to feel a little better, sorry to hear those of you still having a rough time! Hoping it passes soon xx

HarrietM87 · 03/05/2020 19:14

I had the summer infant pregnancy pillow last time and it was good - will be getting it out of the loft soon! I used it as a breastfeeding support in the early days as well.

MrsR87 · 03/05/2020 19:36

Hi ladies.
I’m thinking about the bra conversation from yesterday. I’ve always been a 32B but this is now clearly too tight...I’m left with red indents at the end of the day. So I’ve just measured and I’m fairly confident my band size is now a 34 and I keep getting readings between a B and C cup...my logic is telling me to buy a 34C as I am sure they will get bigger.

Also, yesterday some of you were saying that you are already wearing maternity bras. Is this the same as a nursing bra?

Sorry for the questions but as we’ve not really told anyone yet, I’ve got no one to ask!

Tonicandgin · 03/05/2020 21:01

Nursing bras have clips to enable easy feeding. But otherwise they're the same.

I'm wearing nursing bras now because my boobs don't really change size in pregnancy/bf. The best nursing bras in my opinion by far are 'hot milk'.

I'm wearing one now and they last so well.

HarrietM87 · 03/05/2020 21:02

@MrsR87 yes most are also nursing bras (the cups clip down) but I think some are just soft/non-underworld normal (non-nursing) bras. If you’re thinking of breastfeeding you may as well get some nursing ones.

Tbh you’ll probably find your size changes a lot through pregnancy and after the birth so I’d definitely go C cup now but either only get one or two in case they only last a short time, or I’d recommend the ones that aren’t “sized” (so come in small/medium/large) rather than cup sizes as they’re more stretchy and will accommodate changes.

I was 32B pre my last pregnancy and got measured after birth and was 34DD, just to give you an idea! But everyone is different.

BabyKnighty1 · 03/05/2020 21:22

I didn’t think mine had grown much but now my standard tshirt bra is leaving red marks across the top of my boobs. Might be time to get the next size up

BuffaloCauliflower · 03/05/2020 21:28

@MrsR87 what method are you using to measure? (I’m one of those bra intervention gurus...)

BuffaloCauliflower · 03/05/2020 21:30

And I’m in Molke bras only - the perfect pregnancy and nursing bras

NoseringGirl · 03/05/2020 23:34

@eleanorsos my scan is tomorrow too, also around lunchtime, I'm so nervous! All the best to you!

eleanorsos · 04/05/2020 08:40

@Noseringgirl ah good luck to you too, hoping for good news for us both xx

Addler · 04/05/2020 09:14

Good luck @NoseringGirl!

So after not having that much MS this whole time I've vomited after nearly every meal the last three days. Why is it getting worse now, when it's supposed to be getting better?!

Natopp · 04/05/2020 10:00

Good luck to all the scans today!! Can't wait to see some pictures. Mine is on Thursday. Can't stop thinking about it!! X

HarrietM87 · 04/05/2020 10:16

Good luck for the scans! Mine is 9am tomorrow...really can’t wait until it’s over. Have just had to lie to work about why I need the time off and feel terrible!

BuffaloCauliflower · 04/05/2020 10:35

Good luck scan ladies! My 12 week one is next Monday, I’m trying to not start feeling nervous again when I’ve already seen once that baby is ok!

MrsR87 · 04/05/2020 10:39

@BuffaloCauliflower

I used the methods on marks and Spencer and the good housekeeping magazine. I then tried to back it up with a few other generic lingerie websites (all UK based) but many gave different answers!

BuffaloCauliflower · 04/05/2020 10:44

@MrsR87 oh no! I was hoping you wouldn’t say something like that! M&S are the absolute worst, if that’s the sort of method you’ve been using I can guarantee you’ll be wearing a size that’s miles wrong.
Please please measure using this calculator, make sure to tick that you’re pregnant

BuffaloCauliflower · 04/05/2020 10:44

They all +4 your band measurement which is completely wrong, outdated and unnecessary

Jen1311 · 04/05/2020 10:57

I’ve just seen this on my hospital maternity department page (Rosie dept at Addenbrooks hospital, Cambridge) I’m so pleased, still won’t be the same but at least my husband can ‘see’ the baby now! My scan is this Thursday and looking forward to it a bit more now. Hopefully other hospitals will offer this too soon x

Wise0wl · 04/05/2020 11:02

@BuffaloCauliflower I also have my scan next Monday too! It feels like I’ve waited for so long.

Happythecrocodile · 04/05/2020 11:10

@BuffaloCauliflower @Wise0wl my scan is next Monday too! I haven’t had any early scans so I’m already feeling so nervous!

BuffaloCauliflower · 04/05/2020 11:19

@Wise0wl @Happythecrocodile I had a scan at 10 weeks and all was fine so I have very little reason to worry really, but I know things can still go wrong the whole way through so it’s hard to be calm. I have been calmer since the 10 week scan though. I think it’s just hard to believe we’ll really get a baby from this

futuredreams · 04/05/2020 12:05

@jen1311 that's a lovely gesture and will mean the world to a lot of parents to be. It's a real shame all NHS hospitals don't consider the same. Amazing though

Wise0wl · 04/05/2020 12:07

@BuffaloCauliflower @Happythecrocodile nice to have some scan buddies! I had a very early one at 6+6 because of spotting and all was fine then, but now my symptoms have gone I'm starting to wonder if I dreamt it all or if I'm really pregnant!

TangBloodyFastic · 04/05/2020 12:37

Hi!
Hope you're all keeping well and not being blighted by MS.
Just got my NIPT results back and all extremely low risk which is a relief.
Does the combined NHS one test for anything other than downs, Edwards & patau?
