Another new thread! Reckon we can get all the scans into this one?

Am I the only one whose boobs haven't grown?! I think the only change is my nipples are a bit darker. I could've done with a bit of extra growth!

NoseringGirl · 01/05/2020 17:44

@Audio30 I had a letter come through about my consultant appointment just after the scan letter came through. The midwife has said they might want to see me directly after the scan or it might be a phone call. The letter said I have to go up the hospital for it but it's exactly a week after the scan. I'm waiting to see if it gets changed to a phone appointment as there's no real reason to see me in person at this point and it's possible I might get passed back to midwife led before the end anyway.

@anon5555 Aww great scan pic! Same due date as me! Grin

CoBell · 01/05/2020 18:10

Oooops! @Anon87 that should have been! Blush

Second recommendation for H&M bras, I was feeling that it was a bit early to buy and didn't want to jinx it but when I put it on it was like heaven! Soo much more comfortable!

ACatCalledLola · 01/05/2020 19:44

Scan was today and it went well. A very active baby and my screening came back as low risk. I’m hoping I can have a few days of relaxing before the worry sets in again!

HarrietM87 · 01/05/2020 20:18

Congratulations @ACatCalledLola!

LozEliza · 01/05/2020 20:27

I'm glad to hear some of you are also starting to feel a bit better. I'm super tired this evening and feel off again so I'm guessing the baby is having a little growth spurt again ❤️.

My boobs are haven't grown masses but are definitely bigger and fuller (they are quite small anyway). I'm wearing a sports bra atm (this still makes them sore when wearing
It all day) but I ordered some H&M bras (nothing special as I don't need it just the non underwire ones in a size up) about a month ago (still waiting!) and some big pants!

novicettc · 01/05/2020 21:13

Hi all, I forgot to post yesterday i was too full of excitement! Scan went perfectly, 2 healthy babies!!! New EDD is 1st Nov. Best of luck to everyone waiting on scans soon, I know the wait is so hard but hopefully seeing these positive outcomes will give you some reassurance Smile

KatieGlo · 01/05/2020 21:22

Hi Ladies,
I thought I'd share my experience as a shielded person at my scan today (I'm on intravenous immunosuppressant drugs, so a Covid risk group), in case anyone else is worried about their shielding.
They booked me in for 8.45am, first appointment of the day when it was very quiet, gave me a surgical mask on arrival and sat me in a little room on my own. At the scan the consultant and nurse/midwife had masks on, did scan as normal (was awesome to see this little human that is mine in my belly)!
Afterwards I had bloods, urine, discussion of my condition. Consultant gave me a letter to say I must be shielded at all medical appointments that I must show at reception each visit. They're cutting down my physical hospital visits, and gave me a few masks to take away.
All felt very well managed, I was reassured by them taking shielding seriously.

Does anyone know what bath temperature is safe? Feeling sick and really dizzy after a bath! I love my baths so don't want to give up on them!

wannabebump · 02/05/2020 02:51

@ACatCalledLola did you get your screening done (is bloods) and get info back at your scan appointment?

Mine is on Monday, hoping it's all done at the same time - someone previously mentioned a week wait 😕 I didn't get bloods done at 8 weeks as MW couldn't get blood.

X

wannabebump · 02/05/2020 02:52

Ps. 2.51am. Awake again. Anyone else?!

Also starting to have crap dreams again, this time about anything that could be wrong with scan appointment on Monday 😭

Pizzamyhart · 02/05/2020 03:51

3.47 I actually fell asleep at descent time tonight 11.30 ish which is the earliest in a long time but now I'm wide awake. Normally my 3 year old had me up multiple times a night but I've woken up and realised my DH is in bed with DS so I should really be enjoying a night with interruption.

EBM20 · 02/05/2020 03:53

@wannabebump not weird dreams but I wake up early hours every night, lay here for an hour not being able to get back to sleep and start over thinking things like having to go to the scan by myself or having to stay over night in hospital which I actually worry about more than the actual birth! Then start feeling really sick and dry heave. Been happening every night for the past week. I'm so tired of not sleeping properly as every night I'm up for a few hours then I'll be awake by 8am latest!

wannabebump · 02/05/2020 03:59

@Pizzamyhart try and enjoy what's left of this uninterrupted sleep for you!

@EBM20 I hear ya! My sleeping was all over the place and once I was over 11 weeks it settled down a bit, apart from the toilet trips as my bladder is now the size of a small child's 😂 I think it's scan nerves, tomorrow night will be interesting! My mind goes into overdrive too, about anything and everything. X

anon5555 · 02/05/2020 07:22

Just wondering, if I had my bloods and urine taken at 9 week midwife appointment, will they be taken again at 12 week scan (next week)? Just wondering so I can take urine sample with me if needed.
Thanks

Jay0512 · 02/05/2020 08:02

@jeleigh @Audio30 I’ve also got a consultant Appointment at the end of the month. (Had the letter before any scans). I did have a partial molar pregnancy years ago so I think it could be to do with that, but I’ve had an early scan and my 12 week scan which shows there’s an actual baby there this time Smile so unsure if I’ll be consultant led after that appointment? Not sure why else I’d need a consultant apt

Jay0512 · 02/05/2020 08:04

@anon5555 they might do, you’ll need a full bladder if you’re having an abdominal scan so worth just finding out once you arrive xx

Addler · 02/05/2020 08:19

Just went into the kitchen to find DP had left the pizza out of the fridge from last night so now I can't eat any. I didn't even have any of the meat one as felt too sick, and it was the one junk food splurge I allowed myself after a really difficult week.

I burst into tears 🤦🏻‍♀️

LozEliza · 02/05/2020 08:48

@Anon555 I didn't have urine taken again at the 12 week scan. Just the bloods which I didn't have at the booking appointment (downs, Edwards, pataus).

@emb20 I read that it's safe if it doesn't turn your skin pink.

BuffaloCauliflower · 02/05/2020 08:56

@EMB20 I’ve looked at the bath thing a lot cause I really need my baths, and they’re basically only unsafe when they’re so hot you couldn’t be in them anyway. The concern is them potentially raising your core temp above 40c, but even in a bath that’s 40c (really hot!) raising your skin temperatures, it doesn’t actually raise your internal temp. So - have hot baths it’s fine.
BUT - If you’re feeling out of sorts from hot baths it might be that you have low blood pressure or some other issue that’s making the hot bath uncomfortable for you, rather than it being a general bath issue. My friend gets dizzy in hot baths when pregnant due to low bloody pressure

SqidgeBum · 02/05/2020 08:59

I just had some very dark blood on my tissue as I wiped this morning. Not a huge amount, but not a small amount either. I am 13+5, and my scan last week showed everything to be very normal. I dont know if I should be worried Confused

BuffaloCauliflower · 02/05/2020 09:05

@Sqidgebum bleeding in pregnancy is really common and usually fine but worth running past your midwife just in case. Not worried just vigilant x

Fredthespider · 02/05/2020 09:08

@SqidgeBum I would maybe see how it is in a few hours to see if it stops? If it hasn’t then I would definitely call the hospital. I’ve got a number to call if less than 20 weeks on the front on my notes. Try not to worry and I have my fingers crossed that it’s nothing x
