@MrsR87 well she wasn't wrong. It's lovely news to get first week of lockdown for anyone ☺️

Fouryearslater · 28/04/2020 19:25

Placenta previa is the one to ‘worry’ about, as it’s blocking the exit route for a vaginal delivery (I say worry, it doesn’t cause issues I don’t believe, but if it doesn’t move a c section is necessary). Placenta anterior just means the placenta has attached at the front. It’s more common for it to attach at the back.

That’s my very basic understanding anyway!

Those of you with placenta anterior, did you get a stitch like pain as an early symptom? I did with my first but not this time and I wondered if there was any correlation?

SMcG1 · 28/04/2020 19:28

@futuredreams I went to see my GP when I was 6 weeks as it said on the nhs website to see your GP or midwife and I had no idea how to contact the midwife. When I said why I was there he told me he doesn’t have anything to do with it and I should have contacted the midwife. I felt very stupid after that. He wasn’t particularly nasty about the whole thing, I think it was more that I had no idea what I was supposed to do and felt like I had wasted his time.

Addler · 28/04/2020 19:32

@Pcosandpregnant we're the same dates! I'm 10+1 tomorrow too. Also have PCOS Grin

HarrietM87 · 28/04/2020 19:33

@TangBloodyFastic an anterior placenta does increase the risk of baby back to back - see here for example: www.tommys.org/pregnancy-information/im-pregnant/anterior-placenta

but it doesn’t make it certain and the baby can also be back to back without an anterior placenta so I wouldn’t worry about it!

Pcosandpregnant · 28/04/2020 20:08

Oh wow @Addler! How are you doing?

futuredreams · 28/04/2020 20:16

@SMcG1 that's kind of how I was made to feel. But I always felt like I was wasting a whole appointment just to say I'm pregnant. But it's the way we have to do it here. Seems silly. With my last pregnancy I had an early emergency scan and they gave me paperwork to give my GP. Thought that time I wouldn't need to make an appointment but when I left the letter into GP reception it was never passed on so I was sitting at 11 weeks with no appointment. Then when I phoned to ask they said I need to make an appointment but nobody called me. . Madness. Turns out it was a miscarriage anyway around 10 weeks but there is so much miscommunication. Anyway I'm ranting sorry lol

Addler · 28/04/2020 20:24

@Pcosandpregnant Ridiculously tired, a bit nauseous off and on but not a lot of actual vomiting. And quite a few pains that feel similar to cyst pains around my ovaries too!

How about you?

Pcosandpregnant · 28/04/2020 20:38

@Addler I am exactly the same! Even down to the pains, more so on my left. But I think that’s always been the “bad” one.

Whoamieven · 28/04/2020 20:44

So this might be a weird one for some of you, but anyone noticed their cervix is really low and soft? I'm familiar with mine because I used it as an indicator to get pregnant, but I don't remember it feeling like this with the last two??

BabyKnighty1 · 28/04/2020 20:52

@Whoamieven I find mine varies in softness and height still.

Is anyone getting nose bleeds? I never get them but today and yesterday keep getting one on one side 🤦🏼‍♀️

Addler · 28/04/2020 20:59

@Pcosandpregnant my bad one's my right! Grin

Pcosandpregnant · 28/04/2020 21:12

@Addler Grin a lot of people said that pains in your ovaries are completely normal. So might not be just because we have pcos! Did you struggle to fall pregnant?

Pink15 · 28/04/2020 21:39

@BabyKnighty1 when I blow my nose I have blood in the tissue which is unusual for me - I googled and it is a pregnancy symptom!

NoseringGirl · 28/04/2020 21:46

@Whoamieven mine is a lot lower than it was in my first two pregnancies. I was worried about it at first but now I think it's just because I've given birth a couple of times before?

OP posts:
Swale · 28/04/2020 23:16

@BabyKnighty1 Yes I keep bleeding a tiny bit from both nostrils which never usually happens. I’ve also had a stuffy nose at night for the past 3 weeks.

BabyKnighty1 · 29/04/2020 00:04

@swale pretty annoying huh!

excitednerves · 29/04/2020 09:24

@Pcosandpregnant great news on your booking appt. Mine is next week at 10+6 it feels so late. Like I’ve been literally waiting months for it.

Have most people had bloods & urine samples done after booking or are they just not doing them?

excitednerves · 29/04/2020 09:25

^ by they, I mean the hospital

BuffaloCauliflower · 29/04/2020 09:29

@excitednerves my booking in is this Friday when I’ll be 11+2

MrsR87 · 29/04/2020 09:30

@excitednerves

I had blood and urine done last Friday at my first midwife appointment and then they did blood again during my first scan on Monday. My next appointment is in June but will be over the phone instead of face to face of things don’t change. They’ve given me a urine sample bottle and asked me to take a sample the next time I am in the hospital face to face.

seventhrow · 29/04/2020 09:33

Hi. I have my scan tomorrow which I am already nervous enough about. it’s all just got a lot worse though. Yesterday was the 1 year anniversary of my father dying so obviously I felt terrible and low all day. Then today I’ve had a phone call from my aunt to say that my Grandma is dying in hospital, a matter of hours. Grandma is dad’s mum.

I’ve got loads of work to do but all I want to do is crawl under a duvet. Obviously can’t rush to the hospital. Just all a pile of shit on a really hard time of year.

If the baby isn’t ok tomorrow. I don’t know. All quite a lot.

Sorry. So rubbish.

HarrietM87 · 29/04/2020 09:48

Oh I’m so so sorry @seventhrow. That’s a lot to take. Your poor grandma. Thinking of you xxx

excitednerves · 29/04/2020 09:55

@seventhrow that sounds awful. Praying everything goes well for you tomorrow so you have a little glimmer of positivity. X

NoseringGirl · 29/04/2020 09:57

@seventhrow that's a lot to cope with, I'm sorry you're going through this and hope you're being well looked after today. Best wishes for your scan!
