@Anothercliche just looked up iron deficiency and noticed rapid heart rate is also a symptom, which I have noticed.

Anothercliche · 28/04/2020 07:10

@BuffaloCauliflower does sound like it's worth checking out. Let us know how you get on and I hope you feel better soon

Addler · 28/04/2020 08:16

I've been on ferrous fumerate and high dose Vit D for a while as my ferritin and D levels have been very low. Also B12 is low sometimes as well. Not really sure why as I've been taking high strength bariatric multivitamins for the last 18 months since my gastric sleeve, but I was showing low levels before the surgery anyway. Hope it doesn't get worse during pregnancy!

BuffaloCauliflower · 28/04/2020 09:06

Thanks @Anothercliche I’ve sent a message to the GP

SqidgeBum · 28/04/2020 09:48

Hi all. I havent been on here much. After my small bleed last week I freaked out and just needed to step back. The bleed didnt happen again and there was no pain, and the doc didnt feel like it was something that needed immediately looking at. So I have my scheduled scan today at 1:30pm. Bricking it. I am 70% sure everything is ok but that 30% has me in a knot. I just want to be in there now and know.

HarrietM87 · 28/04/2020 09:53

Good luck @SquidgeBum - I’m sure all will be well for you. Let us know how it goes x

jeleigh · 28/04/2020 09:58

@SqidgeBum good luck today. I’ve got my scan today at 2. I haven’t slept a wink! x

GB88 · 28/04/2020 10:06

@SqidgeBum @jeleigh good luck for your scans today

SqidgeBum · 28/04/2020 10:08

@jeleigh I have managed to sleep somehow but I lay in bed for an hour this morning imaging all sorts of horrible things in my head. What freaks me is my family's complete assumption that all is fine (both our parents know, and both our siblings). My mom just keeps saying 'of course it will be fine. Make sure you send me a picture when you get out'. I cant keep saying 'it might not be fine'.

jeleigh · 28/04/2020 10:18

@Sqidgebum my DH and MIL keep saying the same things. Every time I think something might be wrong my DH tells me it’s not and that i’ll be fine, and I say the exact same back. To be honest, i’ll be more shocked today if everything is okay than not as I’ve woke up with some mild cramping. I’ve got everything crossed for you

@GB88 thank you x

SqidgeBum · 28/04/2020 10:24

I know this is stupid, but I am more dreading if things arent ok, and we have to tell DHs family. DHs sister is heartless, and I guarantee her first reaction would be to tell me 'well if you didnt stress so much it would have been fine. You needed to learn a lesson'. She has made similar comments before in relation to me struggling to get pregnant on my first baby and also for having MS.

I am more dreading those sorts of interactions from my in laws than anything. They can be very cold.

BuffaloCauliflower · 28/04/2020 10:35

@SquidgeBum so sorry you’re feeling this way, I know what it’s like to be feeling like everything isn’t ok and having everyone saying ‘it’s fine it’s fine’. If it was just a small bleed the likelihood IS that it’s fine, they’re really common, but I know it won’t feel like that right now. If your SIL does say anything even half so rude I’d hope your DH would call her out on it, no one needs to learn such lessons and anyone who thinks it’s on to say things like that isn’t someone you should be letting into your emotional world. Don’t speak to her if she can’t be nice. It seems like they’re not the most supportive anyway, is there a reason you felt you needed to tell them early?
Either way - you haven't got long to wait, I’ll be praying for you xx

BuffaloCauliflower · 28/04/2020 10:36

@jeleigh I’ve had pains and cramps the whole time. It’s logical really when you think it’s going to be stretching things out and moving around in there

Becca65 · 28/04/2020 10:37

Hello all, hope everyone is ok today. Just joined up, and am due in November and think I'm 12 weeks tomorrow, and also I have my scan tomorrow...am really nervous, especially as we ended up having to tell a lot of people early X

SqidgeBum · 28/04/2020 10:43

@BuffaloCauliflower I couldn't keep it from my family, especially my mlm (we are incredibly close, and if anything did go wrong she would be the first person I would speak to after my DH) so to keep it even we had to tell DHs family (there would be a serious argument if they realised we told one family and not the other. My MIL likes to throw teenage crying tantrums and her family keep her happy to avoid them).

There is a reason we live far enough away that they cant drop in lol.

But yes, I am already avoiding my SIL. She called this baby our 'mistake' that we now have to 'deal with' 2 weeks ago when i said i was still struggling with MS. They just dont do empathy.

BuffaloCauliflower · 28/04/2020 10:48

@SquidgeBum how frustrating. I take no stock with ‘fairness’ in this sort of situation. I told my DM the minute I saw a line, we didn’t tell DHs parents (who I love and get on well with, for what it’s worth) till we’d had our early scan. No one has a right to your private medical information just because you’ve chosen to tell it to someone else. But anyway, hopefully all will be well and you won’t have to deal with any crap from them x

LozEliza · 28/04/2020 10:49

Eekk my scan went well I'm so pleased! Measuring 2 days ahead at 12+2 and the baby has super long legs! All the MS and nausea has been worth it. I was so worried and nervous as my symptoms have eased since around 10 weeks but all was good! I hope that brings some comfort to anyone in a similar boat.

@LozEliza you baby looks like it has a little 'Z' over it, like its sleeping! Super cute. That's lovely reassurance. Very happy for you xx

BuffaloCauliflower · 28/04/2020 10:58

Great news @LozEliza! Definitely long legs Smile

MrsR87 · 28/04/2020 11:03

Hi all. I didn’t want to join a month group until I had my scan! Well I had it yesterday and so today I am 11 weeks 5 days and am due November 12th. It was so exciting yesterday to see baby moving around, I couldn’t believe how clear the picture was. The only bittersweet note was that my husband was not able to see it too due to current NHS policies. We are looking to book a private scan, probably a 4D morning one for later in the pregnancy in the hope that he would be able to see it and experience the same magic I did. I’ve looked at many of my local private scan clinics and they have either reduced what they offer simply to reassurance scans or they are not allowing a guest either. Does anyone have any clinic recommendations? My nearest cities are Derby and Nottingham (I live in Derbyshire) but would be happy to go to Birmingham or Leicester.

I am 32 and this is my first baby so I literally have no clue!

Congratulations to all you lovely ladies 🥰. Il going to try to catch up on the thread but with 5 threads already it might take me a while 😂

HarrietM87 · 28/04/2020 11:05

Congrats on the scans today! What a great picture @LozEliza!

Mine is a week today but I should get my harmony results back this Thurs or Friday...time is just dragging!

Hancock2020 · 28/04/2020 11:15

@MrsR87 try window to the womb I used them for my 8 week scan and DH was allowed in

BuffaloCauliflower · 28/04/2020 11:20

Congrats @MrsR87! I’m 32 having first baby as well. Due November 13th going off early private scan but it might change at NHS scan. DH was allowed to come to private scan at Window to the Womb, we’re in south west London, but they were only doing early reassurance scan or I think growth scans? No 4D or sex scans as they’re not deemed necessary, only ones that can fall under health

EBM20 · 28/04/2020 11:29

I've been looking for a private scan that will allow partners but cannot seem to find one 😔 closest is window at the womb but they have stopped partners! Baby is a little unexpected miracle as my partner was told he would not be able to conceive naturally and we some how did! So scared that this will be our only baby and he will miss all the lovely moments of going to scans and not feeling involved 😔

seventhrow · 28/04/2020 11:31

@MrsR87 and @BuffaloCauliflower we are due so close together, plus same age and first babies! I'm currently due Nov 11, but that might change after my scan on Thursday.

Congrats and welcome @MrsR87! I'm really enjoying this group to as we go through the various stages... I think it's super helpful for first timers and it's nice to not feel so weird and isolated doing this during covid.
