Ahh @tangbloodyfastic that's great! Same for me - all looking good & EDD 2 days earlier Smile so relieved and hoping I enjoy the second trimester!

seventhrow · 27/04/2020 11:46

@TangBloodyFastic wonderful news!!!

Have my scan on Thursday and am very excited / nervous. Am glad I have work to distract me the next few days.

Feeling ravenously hungry again today!!!

TangBloodyFastic · 27/04/2020 11:52

Lovely news @ticktackted
My scan was result of an NIPT so just got to wait for results to come back. Keeping everything crossed I'm low risk

TangBloodyFastic · 27/04/2020 11:55

@seventhrow I was SO anxious beforehand and for about 30 seconds I was nervous cos there was just an empty dark space... I was relieved when she informed me that was my bladder not my uterus 😂😂

Natopp · 27/04/2020 12:23

@TangBloodyFastic yay lovely news xx

Hancock2020 · 27/04/2020 12:32

I had an awful nights sleep last night, I just couldn't get comfy.
My hips were hurting so it hurt to lay on my side, being on my back was most comfortable but of course we aren't allowed to sleep on our backs anymore 🙄

FireflyGirl · 27/04/2020 12:41

@Hancock2020 try a pillow between your knees, that can sometimes help with hip pain.

Hancock2020 · 27/04/2020 12:42

@FireflyGirl I'll give it a go

burntpinky · 27/04/2020 12:48

@TangBloodyFastic great news!

@Hancock2020 I was safe. Have you tried pregnancy pillow? I have one from my last pregnancy but neee to wash it!

Hancock2020 · 27/04/2020 12:52

@Burntpinky I have a v pillow not sure it's the same as a pregnancy pillow. Not sure Dh would be happy with a massive pillow in bed with us lol

Addler · 27/04/2020 12:56

@Natopp same here, nanny to 6 and 2 year olds. I only started in January and really need the money otherwise I would just quit, I'm struggling and crying every day at the moment. I normally do a weekly rota but I'm doing 2 1/2 weeks in a row, 3 days off then back for 10 days. I have to be up when the eldest wakes up and when they've gone to bed I have to iron and the mum has just asked me to plan and set activities for the following day as well. 2 more weeks before I can go home.

Spoons1987 · 27/04/2020 13:44

@60sPony yes, it definitely isn’t helping that we can’t escape the house. I long to let soft play or a swimming pool do some parenting! And to the two nannies - I can’t imagine having the added pressure of being paid to effectively parent! Amazing that you’re both getting through it. Hope the crap feelings ease soon.

@Hancock2020 the advice to sleep left lateral is for when baby gets some decent weight on them, as then they can potentially compress a big vein that runs behind the uterus and cause problems with placental perfusion. Until about 20 weeks you can enjoy star-fishing. They say you could start getting used to sleeping left lateral, but I personally found the paranoia was sufficient motivation past 20 weeks to wake me hourly and check my sleeping position! The joys.

NS34 · 27/04/2020 13:49

I haven't posted much but have been following in the background, I have my scan today at 4.10, it has been a very long and anxious day already. I am so nervous of getting bad news and DH not being there.

Natopp · 27/04/2020 13:54

@Addler oh no, I guess you're doing live in for the time you're there on rota? Have done that before and it's very full on, so can imagine it's ten times worse when pregnant. I understand your struggle. I'd quit too if it would mean I'd get my maternity. Hopefully the 2 weeks will go quickly for you.

I love my kids so much but I am really struggling. It's not like in an office job which I've done before when you're sat down or can take a quick moment to yourself. I'm constantly with the eldest girl and it's lovely but does drain me having to plan activities etc.
I'm lucky my boss' are lovely and have been pretty great and not said anything when the playroom isn't that tidy or I haven't done the kids washing 😂🙄 being stuck inside hasn't helped either - I keep dreaming of a time before lock down and if the older one was still at school, how easier it would all be!! X

Avacadoandtoast · 27/04/2020 14:09

Hi everyone - I had my scan this morning and all was looking good except one thing - my NT measurement was on the higher side (3.4). I was wondering if anyone else was in the same boat?

LozEliza · 27/04/2020 14:19

@NS34 good luck for your scan today please keep us updated. Mines tomorrow and i can't settle at all I feel the exact same about DH not being there.

I had no idea about not sleeping on my back I've been sleeping on my back most nights as the side is so uncomfortable! Going to get myself a pregnancy pillow after my scan.

BuffaloCauliflower · 27/04/2020 14:46

Great news @TangBloodyFastic! What due date are you going on now?

BuffaloCauliflower · 27/04/2020 14:47

Good luck @NS34 and @LozEliza - I’m sure it will all be fine x

BuffaloCauliflower · 27/04/2020 14:48

I’m pretty sure no back sleeping only matters when baby is bigger? At this small size it won’t be able to squash anything

excitednerves · 27/04/2020 15:00

Congratulations to those who’ve had positive scans! So lovely to hear!

3 weeks today and mine will be all done too! Eeek! Booking is next week. Finally feels like something is happening and not just waiting anymore!

ACatCalledLola · 27/04/2020 15:02

@Avacadoandtoast that’s in the normal range so I’m sure it’s absolutely fine. How far along are you? Remember it’s bigger the bigger the baby is.

Addler · 27/04/2020 15:14

@Natopp I WISH the schools were back, I'd have the oldest in every day and the youngest in nursery 4 afternoons a week. The actual dream right now! What makes it harder is that my boss is pregnant too, a couple of weeks behind me, so it's hard seeing her get to lie down whenever she wants and sleep through the night while I'm awake every hour checking if the monitor has switched off as it's wont to do.

Avacadoandtoast · 27/04/2020 15:16

@acatcalledlola - thank you for responding, the midwife did say I was just within ‘Normal’ but being on the higher end of ‘normal’ has just worried me (google!). Baby has measured just short of 14 weeks, I had though I was 12wks and 5 days, so surprised with that too!

Tonicandgin · 27/04/2020 15:19

I thought back sleeping was later on due to the vena cava (main artery carrying oxygen to baby) being restricted by baby/uterus weight and therefore it's best to sleep on your left.

With previous pregnancies I have penned myself with pregnancy pillows but when I have woken up on my back I've felt dreadful and unable to breathe properly.

Think it's about 20 weeks when you're supposed to move - but I can't remember exactly when.
