Hi ladies,

Finally getting a few lucid moments from the crippling neseua so wanted to start a thread for anyone due around this time.

There are a fair few threads knocking around for around the same months so this one is more for women who prefer not to do the whole Facebook thing or join what app groups. Well not quite yet anyway.

Of course anyone is welcome and if joiners decide to link up in those other ways at whatever point then I for one will definitely support it. It's so good to have support across whatever platforms we use as women, we need either other

💪 To the sisterhood

Anyway. My stats are-

Age 33 this past April
We have two children already both girls age 2 and 10
My Partner/fiancee is also 33 and we've been together 11 years,

We were supposed to be having a civil partnership (yes he is a man) last month but it was cancelled due to covid so it's now next year.

Expecting non identical twins the end of November, but good chance I'll get cut open or induced before then.

See how far we get!

I'm 8 weeks and 2

I had a missed miscarriage at my 12 week scan back in October so this pregnancy took me 5 months on from then to conceive.

Enough about me, how is everyone feeling?

The first trimester sucks so hard doesn't it!

@mummyshark97 ah bless you! 😭 It's hard to know what's hormones & what's just lockdown madness setting in!

@amytitch I have been looking at changing bags too - it's a big decision. And VERY exciting!!! How much is it acceptable to spend?! 😬🤔

Amytitch · 09/05/2020 18:25

@firstbabybell www.kiddies-kingdom.com/baby-changing-bags/36034-bababing-mani-backpack-changing-bag-faux-leather-grey-blush.html this is the one I have got myself! FTM so no clue what I should be looking for in a bag other than size but I thought it looked nice I'm sure it'll be fine🤣

firstbabybell · 09/05/2020 18:29

@amytitch I love it! Think the colour is gorgeous. I'm wondering whether to go backpack or shoulder...

EithneBlue · 09/05/2020 18:47

@peachypetite - premature anticipation of tomorrow's announcement I expect. At the moment all teaching unions are really clear: all pregnant staff work from home. Whether that changes tomorrow remains to be seen, but I doubt it: the risks of kids not being able to social distance are much higher than environments where adults are working in an office. The risk assessments are going to be interesting. Anyway: no school for me unless the union changes their advice.

Some lovely scan photos on here in recent days - they're all really making me smile :-)

Amytitch · 09/05/2020 19:11

@firstbabybell I did have a think about backpack vs shoulder bag too. I was thinking if it's going to be filled with lots of stuff it might start hurting my back after a while which is why I went for a backpack to even the load. It will be on my pram the majority of the time anyway

Teaandbiscuits123 · 09/05/2020 22:21

Hi All,

I hope everyone is doing ok and that you’ve all managed to get a bit of sun today!

For the past couple of days I’ve felt quite ‘normal’ which is nice and strange all at once!

@EithneBlue I’m a teacher too and so far I haven’t been asked to come in on rota but I’m super anxious about what will happen when schools go back. Hopefully the union guidance will be very clear x

roro87 · 09/05/2020 23:02

I've been feeling a hundred times better the last few days. tiny moments of nausea and had to go for a nap today. Managed to clear out my wardrobes and bring down my summer clothes which I've wanted to do for weeks.

Loved hearing about everyone's scans.

@EithneBlue hope you have a good outcome but it is very unfair that you have been put in that position.

lionsmum · 10/05/2020 07:10

@MummyShark97 congrats on the scan, what a lovely picture😊

peachypetite · 10/05/2020 07:44

My gag reflex has gone into overdrive and I’m barely managing to take my folic acid. Deffo can’t stomach my massive multivitamin. Do you reckon I could blitz it up in my nutribullet smoothie?

firstbabybell · 10/05/2020 08:03

@peachypetite absolutely can be blitzed but it's quite a strong taste! Do you think you could manage it if you chopped it into bits & ate it in spoonfuls of yogurt or something? I'm worried your going to ruin your smoothie!

Patte · 10/05/2020 08:51

I've found yoghurt the best for getting the pills down me! (As long as yogurt itself isn't making you feel queasy I suppose.)

Snowwhite2020 · 10/05/2020 14:12

@peachypetite I have the pregnancare gummy vitamins- they are much easier to stomach and don’t taste as bad. I too am still suffering terrible nausea and am on very limited food. There is a brilliant thread on mumsnet for Hyperemsis Support you should look it up. Even if you are just having bad sickness/ nausea and not full blown HG it’s helpful for tips and for chatting with others also struggling a lot with this horrible symptom. I sympathise xx

meplusfive · 11/05/2020 09:10

Well that's me out 😥 I miscarried last night. I'm heartbroken and traumatised. I wish you all the very best.

11 weeks of privilege ❤️

Ayannah · 11/05/2020 09:24

Very very sorry to hear that @meplusfive. I’ve had three episodes of bleeding (currently 10+5) and It’s terrifying. Have you spoken to anyone? Are they going to scan you?

Teaandbiscuits123 · 11/05/2020 09:32

@meplusfive I’m so very sorry to hear. It is an absolutely heartbreaking and devastating thing to go through. My heart goes out to you and I’m sending so much love, do you have someone to talk to and support from family and/or friends? Xx

meplusfive · 11/05/2020 09:36

I'd been in a&e/midwifery team and 111. I've got a scan booked tomorrow in EPU to check everything has gone. My partner was amazing, I couldn't have done it without him.

My little boy is only 17 months so I'm sure he'll keep me distracted. For now I'm just trying to go with the emotions. I'll leave the thread soon as it's too painful x

Teaandbiscuits123 · 11/05/2020 09:40

@meplusfive I’m so sorry, I’m glad that you have the support of your partner and your little boy to get you through. It can feel like such a lonely time. I understand you wanting to leave the thread. Sending you a huge hug and strength xxx

peachypetite · 11/05/2020 09:47

@meplusfive oh I am so so sorry to hear that. Please take care of yourself Flowers
