Hi ladies,

Finally getting a few lucid moments from the crippling neseua so wanted to start a thread for anyone due around this time.

There are a fair few threads knocking around for around the same months so this one is more for women who prefer not to do the whole Facebook thing or join what app groups. Well not quite yet anyway.

Of course anyone is welcome and if joiners decide to link up in those other ways at whatever point then I for one will definitely support it. It's so good to have support across whatever platforms we use as women, we need either other

💪 To the sisterhood

Anyway. My stats are-

Age 33 this past April
We have two children already both girls age 2 and 10
My Partner/fiancee is also 33 and we've been together 11 years,

We were supposed to be having a civil partnership (yes he is a man) last month but it was cancelled due to covid so it's now next year.

Expecting non identical twins the end of November, but good chance I'll get cut open or induced before then.

See how far we get!

I'm 8 weeks and 2

I had a missed miscarriage at my 12 week scan back in October so this pregnancy took me 5 months on from then to conceive.

Enough about me, how is everyone feeling?

The first trimester sucks so hard doesn't it!

@peachypetite my dinner is a bowl of dry pasta with cheese. That’s all I can stomach and I never finish it...

kkr168 · 08/05/2020 22:07

I'm the opposite, seem to be able to eat pretty much anything. Even when I had really bad nausea, picking little & often eased the symptoms quite a bit.
It does worry me though because I over ate big time with my previous pregnancy & I gained a ridiculous amount of weight, I was very much doing the whole eating for 2. I'm being more sensible this time (so far) but there are times like last night, I woke at 3am starving, ignored it till 4am but it wasn't going away so I had some cream crackers, went straight back to sleep after.

Amytitch · 08/05/2020 22:41

@peachypetite All I seem to manage at the moment is salt and vinegar french fries. Anything else even the thought of makes me sick. I have tried forcing myself to eat and hope it's a mind over matter situation but always end up regretting it when I'm sat by the toilet 😂 I can't wait for the nausea to finally disappear, I've had lots of tears over it which seems silly considering everything else going on in the world!

excitednerves · 08/05/2020 22:48

@lionsmum congratulations on the scan. That is such good news!

@lockdown84 my scan is on the 18th, not long to go now but feels like it has taken forever😘

Aereon91 · 08/05/2020 23:04

Hi! Hope I’m not too late to join this thread!

I’m 28 and currently 11 weeks pregnant so due on the 27th of Nov. We’ve had a MC previously so I was quite anxious for a while but now I’m just feeling positive :) almost made it past the first trimester!

The nausea has been awful as well as the tiredness and dehydration. I honestly don’t know how I would have coped without my lovely partner supporting me and doing everything (I probably wouldn’t have). The nausea seems to be wearing off now so I’m hoping I’ll be back to normal soon :) still feels very far away though. I can’t imagine working through something like this, amazed women manage it! I’m very grateful that I haven’t had to due to everything going on...

My dating scan and bloods and such are booked for the 19th so I’m very excited to have a picture of our little bean. I’ve already seen the bean once at a 6 week scan with a heartbeat and everything, so that was amazing :) Sad that my partner can’t come in and experience it with me though :(

Congrats to all you guys on your pregnancies! I’m looking forward to reading along with this thread as we all go on our own journeys :)

Amytitch · 08/05/2020 23:11

@Aereon91 Congratulations on your pregnancy🥰 I am due on 30th Nov!
I think I am the opposite of that- work is the only thing to keep me going and not curling up into a ball under my duvet and never getting back out. Keeping myself busy at work seems to help me stop dwelling on when the next time I am going to be sick is, although it's definitely NOT fun everyone hearing me at work... but it does force me to stop crying so much after🤣
Good luck at your scan, yours is the day before mine, I'm very excited but also sad that I can't share the experience with my partner😔

peachypetite · 09/05/2020 06:51

Yeh I have also had days where I’ve cried out of frustration and being so fed up of feeling weak, tired and nauseous. I’m a big foodie and live for cooking, trying new recipes, etc, and I’m so fed up of not being able to eat proper food!!

firstbabybell · 09/05/2020 07:26

Morning all, I've just checked & I've gained 6lb already! 🙈 Today is my third day of feeling almost normal though so I'm going to have a word & really try to be more sensible with what I eat and get a bit more active.

The only thing that would help the nausea before was eating, and I was craving carbs & cheese & crunchy nut cornflakes! No excuses now x

lionsmum · 09/05/2020 09:43

Thank you so much ladies for all of the well wishes😊 the early scans are quite nerve wracking for sure! You're all such a lovely supportive bunch. Not quite made it to 12 weeks yet but feeling more positive as the days go on💖

@firstbabybell i don't dare to step on any scales at the moment, but I can see a different in my tummy already😅 is your nausea better now?

Snowwhite2020 · 09/05/2020 09:59

@Amytitch and @peachypetite the nausea has been awful and honestly has made me want to fast forward the whole of the first trimester. I have been counting down the days on the calendar to the end of the first trimester because the sickness has been so bad :( I have also been in tears several times. It really is so debilitating and has left me isolating in the bedroom to shut out smells of all cooking in the house when others eat. Window wide open and all dishes put away before I can come back through or major vomit zone... sorry tmi but the sickness trigger has been so sensitive. Can’t wait to feel normal! Hope it’s not far off for us girls!

Aereon91 · 09/05/2020 10:02

@Amytitch Thanks very much, Amy :) Congrats on yours too!
I suppose that makes sense - having something to focus on must be a welcome distraction - fair play because I don't think I would have been able to work through it! I've spent all my time sitting on the sofa, eating biscuits and feeling sorry for myself Grin
I can imagine how embarassing it must be to throw up at work.. We only have one toilet per gender at mine so if I need to everyone's gonna hear it :/ Still, it's all part of the experience I suppose... Unfortunately Wink

Good luck for your scan! It is sad but I suppose in the greater scheme of things it's important that these measures are taken :) I'm happy I'll actually have a photo this time so I don't have to just describe it excitedly Grin Hopefully measures will be a little more relaxed by our next scans :)

EithneBlue · 09/05/2020 10:12

Well, this morning I have had to write to my headteacher explaining that union and Department for Education guidelines have not changed and he should not be putting me back on the in-school rota until they do change. I cried for about half an hour yesterday when I got an email saying that I was expected back in school: not a happy bunny, here.
I really, really wish I'd already had my 12 week scan (less than a week to go: it's on Friday): I've suddenly been hit with a ton of actual anxiety.

Snowwhite2020 · 09/05/2020 10:39

Any advice about buying new bras? My boobs are definitely bigger and quite sore but I’m not sure how much bigger Togo when online shopping... any ideas??

Patte · 09/05/2020 10:42

I've just ordered new bras a couple of cup sizes bigger and am hoping that works! I think some shops do have guides available online so you can measure though.

MummyShark97 · 09/05/2020 10:56

a little delayed but scan pic as promised! blurry little bean measuring 10+3

firstbabybell · 09/05/2020 11:30

@snowwhite2020 I can help with the bras!

I went up a back size then got a variety of cup sizes - one & two bigger than previously to try.

I did a huge £300+ order from M&S & have at least two winners from that. One without wiring which has made a huge difference. "Flexfit non wired supersoft bra"

I cannot tell you how much happier I am in supportive comfortable bras that fit. Don't delay & get shopping today!!!!

peachypetite · 09/05/2020 11:51

@EithneBlue so sorry to hear that. What is your school thinking? It seems like there is going to be a lot of resistance from unions anyway so I’m sure schools won’t be opening too soon unless they can prove it is safe.

Amytitch · 09/05/2020 11:53

@Aereon91 I work with adults with learning disabilities so it has been quite a challenge to convince them that one of the other staff members has not in fact poisoned me without telling them I am pregnant lol🤣 They do run to get me water etc after but I still can't help feeling embarrassed by the thought they have all heard.

I do completely understand why partners can't come in with us but it doesn't stop me wishing they can, it would be nice for a familiar face in the room at such an exciting/nervous time! You are definitely right though it's all about the bigger picture and letting them take all the important measurements etc

I can't wait to see how much the baby has grown and send my nan a picture in the post! She is about to burst with excitement as I will be having the first baby of the family 🥰

Amytitch · 09/05/2020 11:54

@MummyShark97 Ahhh how lovely!🥰 It will be interesting for both of us to see how much changes in 2 weeks at the 12 week scan won't it!

Amytitch · 09/05/2020 11:56

@Snowwhite2020 I have been struggling with bras, my boobs have gotten huge in the past couple of weeks, none of mine fit and feel like I am being slowly suffocated lol. I have ordered 1 cup size up and got a few different ones regarding no wire etc and then send back the ones that don't fit/aren't comfortable

Snowwhite2020 · 09/05/2020 12:38

Thanks @firstbabybell and @Amytitch! Sounds like a bit of trial and error... will try up a back and cup size and hope for the best! I’ve heard no underwire is good too.

NatalieH2220 · 09/05/2020 15:28

Hope you're all having a nice bank holiday weekend.

I have my 12 week scan on Monday and cannot wait. Nervous about telling work though, I'd much prefer to do it face to face but not an option at the minute as I'm working from home. Hoping they take the news ok.

I ordered a few new bras on ASDA last week and got some nursing ones which are actually really comfy! Figured they'd work well now as not wired and can also use for after too if I manage to breastfeed this time.

MummyShark97 · 09/05/2020 17:19

@Amytitch yes I'm really looking forward to that! The little outfit arrived this afternoon, it's just as lovely in person ... I actually started crying haha - these hormones!

Amytitch · 09/05/2020 17:46

@NatalieH2220 I was thinking of getting some nursing bras so I could get more use out of them!

@MummyShark97 I'm excited for mine to arrive. I've been and ordered myself a changing bag as well, not sure why I'm so excited for that🤣

MummyShark97 · 09/05/2020 17:50

@Amytitch honestly I got excited over a nappy bin that was on offer this morning so anything goes
