Hey all, just got my bfp which puts me on course for a Christmas baby! According to my calendar it will be around 27th Dec but we'll get a better idea once we get the 12 week scan. I've already got a handsome 2 year old boy. ♥️Anyone else due à Christmas baby or fancy some pregnancy chat?

@Katbaby ohhh it will be so lovely telling your mum. It's such a nice feeling. My dad put a bottle of champagne in the fridge so they could celebrate as soon as my mum told him 🙈I told him it was a bit soon for that, but he's happy so I'll let him have it.

My pregnancy vitamins haven't arrived yet so I've not taken any for two days.. I'm fretting slightly!! I've taken my fertility vitamins every day religiously so this feels a bit odd.

DR Google is addictive.. any niggle and I'm typing it into google. My midwife told me off, "stay away from Google" 😂🙈

How's everyone feeling today? I'm struggling with breakfast 🤢 need to find something to have that doesn't make me feel nauseous

hope your all ok xx

Tbug · 22/04/2020 08:36

Morning! Yeah I feel pretty sick this morning 😳 might just have yoghurt and fruit! Ice lollys are also great 😁

Katbaby · 22/04/2020 08:40

@december2020 I think the spotting I had must have been what would have been my period there must have not been enough hormone to fully stop it, fx I've had nothing since a tiny spot since Sunday so hopefully yours has fully stopped. I'm still knicker checking. Nothing new really today, just still feeling sickly and a mixture of hunger vs totally full and bloated. Gonna have a go at a prenatal pilates today see if it settles my stomach. I was doing regular pilates daily since lockdown started but not done anything since last week as I was scared I would dislodge the baby 🤣 especially when I was spotting. You got any more symptoms?

@djmbaker Im excited dunno how I'm gonna be able to wait til tonight when my mum has finished work! Feel like I'm gonna burst! Just take your fertility ones while you wait? At least then you are getting your folic acid and vit d x

leannewithadash · 22/04/2020 08:57

Totally not pregnancy related but I've woke with a huge swelling/lump on my elbow. Waiting for the GP to call me. Pregnancy related, I told the receptionist about my BFP and she directed me to call the hospital to notify them. I assumed it would all be viable the Doctors surgery. This is all so dauntingSmile

Nic2908 · 22/04/2020 09:12

Good morning ladies. Hope that you are all well. I've woken up feeling quite sickly this morning. Had a bit of pain too. No blood though which I guess is a good thing. Trying not to google and just breath. How is everyone else this morning??

Wearenotyourkind · 22/04/2020 09:12

I'm definitely in the knicker checking gang...it's so hard not too!

Twitchett22 · 22/04/2020 09:23

Morning everyone. I've also woke up feeling like I'm gonna vomit. More refluxy i think but either way I feel like crap! I told my parents yesterday (my mum knew we were trying so has been asking everytime we speak haha) so we had to obviously tell the in laws aswell. I feel better now I've told someone, sounds stupid but i hate announcements of any kind it makes me nervous lol.
Anyone else worried/curious if they might be having twins? I don't know why but I keep thinking about it. I think its because I feel so rubbish already whereas last pregnancy I didn't really have any symptoms until about 8 weeks. I'm glad it's not just me feeling crappy though!

Wearenotyourkind · 22/04/2020 09:27

@Twitchett22 do twins come from the mother or father's side? My husband's mum is a twin 😲

lk123 · 22/04/2020 09:39

Hi guys!! Hope it’s okay if I join:) got my bfp yesterday! I’m currently 3w+5 xxx so nervous incase I see my period on Friday

ArjaD · 22/04/2020 09:40

@December2020 doing ok, woke up with some energy so using that to entertain the toddler!
@Katbaby dislodge the baby 😂😂 I would be the same though hahaha what are you like😆
@Twitchett22 well about the twin thing.. I'm bricking it because I'm a twin and so was my dad. I also already feel swollen and I'm only 5 weeks..... God help us 🙈

Welcome @lk123 congratulations!

@ArjaD 😱😱😱😱

Nic2908 · 22/04/2020 09:47

Welcome @lk123 Congratulations

princessgingy · 22/04/2020 09:48

@Twitchett22 I don’t know but I would not be surprised if they told me I was expecting twins. On my dads side there are multiples in in every generation it feels like, no skipping generations and no clear male or female line. My auntie and uncle were triplets (sadly the third baby died). I have 2 sets of cousins that are twins (not from the triplets) and a cousin who has twins (who wasn’t a twin himself but his brothers are). I’m pretty sure I remember being told there are twins in my nan’s generation too.

Katbaby · 22/04/2020 09:50

Honestly @ArjaD I'm completely irrational about everything haha. Morning everyone and welcome @lk123!

No twins that I know of in my immediate family.. Closest is my dad's brothers kids... So cousins haha..surely not close enough 🤣

Nic2908 · 22/04/2020 09:54

Sounds like this thread could be a lucky twin one for some of you!! How exciting

Twitchett22 · 22/04/2020 09:55

@Wearenotyourkind I'm not sure but DHs mum was a twin too! I've heard it's supposed to skip generations which would mean DH would produce twins... 🙈
I think sometimes it's random though. I'm just imagining having twins on Christmas Day and they'll probably be both boys because I have no boys names that I like 😂😂
Obviously I don't care and will just be very grateful if it/they are healthy. But I do keep joking to DH about having twins and he looks at our 2 year old and just goes white 😂😂

J6J6 · 22/04/2020 10:20

@Katbaby ahh yes it's so hard not being sure, maybe worth ringing up to see if you can have an early scan?? The midwife was pretty clear with me that if I was unsure of dates, need to have a scan to make sure they're doing stuff at the right time.
I'm back from mine - 5 weeks + 1! Too early for a heartbeat which is a shame but happy to just have confirmation of dates and that the sonographer says all looking healthy and on track ☺️ EDD 22 December - very much a Christmas baby! Hope everyone has a good day x

djmbaker · 22/04/2020 10:24

Ahhh twins!! My midwife said "ooh have you got twins in your family" after I said how bloated I am! We have.. its my mum side!

Trying not to think about that 😂😂 love it if someone in this group had them though!!

I'm dying to tell everyone.. i think being home all day is making that worse.. I'm trying to find jobs to distract me!

I've had to have a ginger tea this morning as I feel so nauseous! Anyone else?

showmethegin · 22/04/2020 10:56

My nausea seems to hit me at 630pm every evening, DP had a lovely roast dinner on Monday while I nibbled away at a plain flatbread! Had my referral through and spoke to the hospital, apparently I'm due on Christmas Eve (I thought it was Boxing Day). I'll bet it will be Christmas Day!!! After everything we've been through to get to this point, I couldn't care less as long as we have a baby.

scblob · 22/04/2020 11:07

Hi all,
Just wondering if any of you have been the same. I'm 8 weeks and no clothes apart from my PJ are comfortable. I can't wear a bra my breasts are unbelievably sore.
I can't remember feeling like this the first time around, has anyone got any recommendations of bras? Should I start considering maternity wear?
Any advice is welcome thank you x

djmbaker · 22/04/2020 11:42

I think I'm only about 6 weeks but today, the tiredness has hit me. Like a train. I'm exhausted, it feels horrid!! Anyone else?? I'm supposed to be going to the supermarket today but I'm shattered 😩

@scblob I'm really bloated too!! I've just ordered some new joggers from Zara as I don't think I'll be fitting in my jeans anytime soon.

I keep saying it's too early to feel like this but I guess it can't be???

ArjaD · 22/04/2020 11:49

@scblob I can highly recommend these bras. They aren't maternity bras, but i have gone through so many kinds these are the best for sore pregnancy boobs at the earlier stages! Front closure and clips on the shoulders too for adjustment.

@Twitchett22 twins is a worry for me, my first pregnancy was twins Who are now nearly 11 years old! Don’t get me wrong I love them and there are so many upsides to having twins but it’s also double the work and I was limited as a single parent on activities and always wanted someone to come with me, baby swimming for example I just couldn’t manage that on my own. I also really wanted a baby sling for long walks etc and unless I had one one the front and one on the back it just wasn’t doable! But other than that the twins were brilliant they have a great bond. So if anyone does find out they are having twins I am filled with handy tricks and tips! Twins are usually hereditary through the female side as it’s the number of eggs released (non identical twins), my nans sister had 2 sets of twins and I was the lucky skipped generation to carry on the twin thread. identical twins are a fluke and unfortunately the males will only determine the sex not the number of babies

We have just booked our early scan for may when I will be 7 weeks! So excited and nervous!

Bigcheesey · 22/04/2020 11:52

Hey guys, can I join please? Got my BFP on Monday and I think I’m 4w+4 due on Boxing Day I think (it all happened much quicker then I ever thought it would - first month after implant removal) This would be my first and I’m already so excited/ nervous/ paranoid 😂
