@TangBloodyFastic like I say when I was having ds in 2006 we had a heat wave, and I was wearing my winter coat through it 🤷‍♀️

TangBloodyFastic · 21/04/2020 11:01

I'm still in my winter parka! I look completely out of place next to the people in shorts! 😂

wannabebump · 21/04/2020 11:11

@FilthyforFirth yes to the grey hairs 😭😭

FilthyforFirth · 21/04/2020 11:17

@wannabebump phew, not just me then!

MillieY · 21/04/2020 11:24

Has anyone been allowed to video their scans so their partners can watch after? I know you're not normally allowed but I'm really hoping they will let me! Husband doesn't feel very involved atm.

Pink15 · 21/04/2020 11:26

@calimommy so sorry to hear this :( sending love and hugs your way xx

@Hancock2020 I feel more like boy but can't explain why as this is my first baby! I didn't have any feeling until I saw the scan but now thinking boy...

You are all making me so excited to me able to baby shop soon hopefully!!!

Hancock2020 · 21/04/2020 11:29

I'm 8+6 and starting to feel normal, it makes me so nervous to feel normal

Eskdale2004 · 21/04/2020 11:36

@Hancock2020 me too Confused

I’m 8+2 (9+5 by LMP) had a few waves of nausea but could’ve just been hunger. No sore boobs today though. Symptoms were very intermittent with my last baby though.

LozEliza · 21/04/2020 11:37

Sorry I've been off a couple of days and so behind with the thread!

Those suffering with constipation I am too and the trapped wind is starting to get painful now!

Went for my bloods today (after booking in a few weeks ago) and the midwife couldn't get anything from me 😩 so I've had to book in with the phlebotomist next week (at which point I'll be over 12 weeks) and the day after I have my scan where they're also drawing blood. So I'm going to be drained! Honestly always seem to have a problem with people being able to draw blood from my veins unless they're super experienced 😭.

Eskdale2004 · 21/04/2020 11:38

@MillieY as far as I’m aware the rules regarding photographs and videos in the scanning room are the same. I think it’s more to do with phones interfering with scanning equipment but I could be wrong. I know our hospital are letting pregnant ladies have 2 free print outs.

ParisInTheSpringtime · 21/04/2020 11:40

@MillieY it depends on the hospital. It’s allowed at mine.

FilthyforFirth · 21/04/2020 11:43

Same here @LozEliza. I have a needle phobia so usually done in hospital by a phlebotomist. Midwife was lovely but insistent she could do it. She only got a bit and now I have to do the rest at 12 weeks so really dreading that.

LozEliza · 21/04/2020 11:48

@FilthyforFirth it's nice to know someone else is in a similar boat as it makes you feel as though something is wrong with you lol! It honestly makes me feel so faint when they are faffing. Whereas the experienced ones are straight in and out. Are the phlebotomists generally good at getting it straight away? I'm stressing about next week now.

FilthyforFirth · 21/04/2020 12:07

Yes, the plebotomists are usually brilliant. My veins are hard to find and my phobia is related to a nurse being unable to find them as a child. But they are straight in and out. It is still distressing for me, but I at least know they will get it. Best of luck for yours.

AnxiousLady1 · 21/04/2020 12:09

@Hancock2020 I'm 11+3 and can honestly say my symptoms have fluctuated whole way through. Days where I felt okay all day then bad in evening or vice versa. Around the 10 week mark I started to feel much better, but still would get headaches out of nowhere, bloating etc. I started thinking Sunday that this was all lifting too, and despite feeling okay have randomly threw up last two mornings. And was just bloated again yesterday. While I'm just rolling with it at this stage and not expecting any sort of pattern, it hasn't stopped me being a constant boob prodder/knicker checker. That's the one constant 😂

Spoons1987 · 21/04/2020 12:17

I had such a strong feeling my first was a girl. I wouldn’t have believed the sonographer if they’d said she was a boy! And this time I have a really strong feeling it’s a boy. Excited to hopefully be able test this feeling..

Hancock2020 · 21/04/2020 12:17

@AnxiousLady1 I'm always checking my pants and tissues lol
But then I didn't even know about missed miscarriages until I came on this group, and it's that which is scaring me

Hancock2020 · 21/04/2020 12:19

@Spoons1987 I'm the only one who wants a girl so everyone keeps referring to bump as he which is annoying. But we shall see. I'm more swaying to maybe it's a girl, but could just be because I want a girl so much lol

ACatCalledLola · 21/04/2020 12:19

@burntpinky I almost choked on my tea reading that Grin Reminds me of the first poo post section. That was more traumatic than labour.
@FilthyforFirth after dd1 lots of my hair fell out and grew back grey. Same again after dd2. I may as well accept my fate this time.
@AnxiousLady1 I’m also 11 +3. My symptoms have eased a lot. Mostly just feel sick in the morning when I first get up and in the evenings now. I’m constantly prodding my boobs and knicker checking too!

AnxiousLady1 · 21/04/2020 12:28

@Hancock2020 I think most of us will be constantly checking when we go to the loo in the first trimester! I'm hoping I do that less as time goes on 😂

Understand the worry about MMC Had one myself (grew to 7weeks a and picked up on private 8 week scan). But people with these experiences naturally go to MN for support after these events, so I still believe jts not common. I didnt use MN before the MC. Obviously everyone's experiences with MMC will be very different. Personally I had little to no symtoms beforehand and by the day I had that scan there was absolutely no symptoms at all. I was completely back to normal (physically), despite not MC naturally until a further 4 weeks later. But there's plenty people on these forums that will say they had awful symptoms whole way through and beyond confirmation of a MMC so I don't think symptoms (or lack of) indicate anything. I've my 12 week scan Friday and needless to say am bricking it!

SqidgeBum · 21/04/2020 12:36

I keep thinking mine is a boy. It's been a very different pregnancy compared to my DD. MS was much easier this time around (I was sick nearly every day on DD), but I am less tired this time as DH is at home. I was working as a FT teacher on DD. I honestly dont mind what it is though. I always wanted a girl, and I have one, so if it was a boy I think I would feel like I am done having kids, like I would have one of each and leave it at that.

Sakura54 · 21/04/2020 13:03

@FilthyforFirth @lozeliza I've ranted on here before about how midwives caused me serious pain and bruising by sticking needles in stupid places and then failing to draw blood, because apparently they don't know how to draw blood from my veiny arm like wtf?! My advice would be to say no to the midwives and tell them you want a nurse to come do it. Annoying. Phlebotomists are pro offcourse as that's their job.

MMC is a concern for me also. Unfortunately we suffered one around 2 years back. And that was after a good scan with a HB at 7 weeks. Went back after bleeding and severe back pain/cramps to be told baby had stopped growing at 9+3. I’m not sure if it’s classed as a MMC though as I did have bleeding. I’ve bled slightly in all of my pregnancies though and have 2 DD’s to show for it.

This is another reason why I don’t particularly want an early scan (but I’m not going to lie and say I’m not tempted)

I hate this trimester. Hope it’s over soon!

Fouryearslater · 21/04/2020 13:10

I’m thinking a girl if the old wives tales are true about sickness being worse!

Had my booking in this morning over the phone, she’s going to try and get me under the same consultant as last time, should hear about my scan end of this week/beginning of next. It will be mid May. It’s really weird as I went to school with my midwife!

FlashesOfRage · 21/04/2020 13:11

@burntpinky 🤣🤣🤣 OMG that’s a classic!

I’m taking Psyllium husk tablets that I got on Amazon.

I was trying to drink Fybogel (psyllium husk but in a sachet of powder to make a drink) and it was like drinking sand so I just couldn’t get myself to do it 👍
