Caved and booked an early scan for Wednesday when I’ll be 10 weeks. Clearly I’m highly suggestible. Clincher was that DH can come, and I really want him to have the chance to see the first one. And basically I’d just like to know whether it’s in the right place with a heartbeat or not, take some of the pressure off.

Hancock2020 · 20/04/2020 21:28

So sorry to you @calimommy

FirstBaby2020 · 20/04/2020 21:32

So sorry to hear that @calimommy look after yourself x

@BuffaloCauliflower ah I have my fingers and toes crossed for you that everything goes well with the private scan and hope it gives some relief

jeleigh · 20/04/2020 21:32

So sorry to hear that @calimommy xx

2019Mama · 20/04/2020 21:40

@calimommy so sorry to hear that. Look after yourself

Pippop21 · 20/04/2020 22:00

@spoons1987 telling everyone in here u are a modwife was probably THE worst thing you could have done 🤣🤣🤣 we'll all be tagging u constantly know with our worries haha xxx

AnxiousLady1 · 20/04/2020 22:08

@calimommy So sorry to hear this. It's a crap situation that many of us can relate to having been there before too. Be kind to yourself and ensure lots of TLC is on the agenda. Xx

Hancock2020 · 20/04/2020 22:08

@Pippop21 shhhh 🤫 you'll scare her away!! lol 🤣

So, has anybody got any suspicions on the sex of their baby yet?

Spoons1987 · 20/04/2020 22:08

@Pippop21 I did dither! But with my first DC I kept it secret in antenatal groups we went to and I was always pretending to not really know things and basically hiding a big part of myself!

Also my anxiety isn’t any less than you guys - I’m just the same anxious tissue examiner Grin oh the joys

Hancock2020 · 20/04/2020 22:14

@Spoons1987 tissue examiner lol love it 🤣🤣

Spoons1987 · 20/04/2020 22:17

@calimommy I’m really sorry to read that. I hope you’re surrounded by lots of love to help you through

BuffaloCauliflower · 20/04/2020 22:35

@Spoons1987 tissue examiner indeed. It’s one reason I’m glad I mostly use family cloth - lots of brightly coloured cloths you can’t nit-pick the colour of every wipe on!

But sort of oddly reassuring to know the midwife is also anxious and getting early scans Smile

Pcosandpregnant · 20/04/2020 22:49

@calimommy I am really sorry. I truly wish you the best and I hope you have the support you need xx

Clove20 · 20/04/2020 22:57

@calimommy I'm so sorry to hear that x

Ashby2020 · 20/04/2020 23:13

I’m coming up to my 12 weeks] scan but has zero to very minor symptoms. I’m starting to think the worst. Also, I sat on a cold driveway for about 10 seconds but I’ve been told that can stop the babies heart what so worrying myself even more now does anyone know if this is true??

DanceM1 · 20/04/2020 23:28

Hi everyone, I'm a bit late to the party! I'm 11 weeks and this is my first pregnancy. Really anxious as I wont get my 12 week scan until I am 14+2. I dont know whether to keep calling and pestering for a cancellation?
Its reassuring reading everyone else's comments. My symptoms have almost disappeared so that is one of many things I'm worrying about!

excitednerves · 21/04/2020 06:49

Oh @calimommy I am so so sorry. Take care Flowers

excitednerves · 21/04/2020 06:56

Anyone else unable to stop worrying? According to the miscarriage rates chart, at 8+6 there’s less than 4% chance of MC, so why do I think I’m the 4% rather than the 96% or that something’s already gone wrong? Feeling seriously stressed and I think lockdown is getting to me too. Absolutely no real reason to worry, no bleeding or pain.

Any words of wisdom? Or anyone feel the same?

excitednerves · 21/04/2020 07:08

@Ashby2020 I’m in the worry club too. I’m sure sitting on a cold driveway isn’t recommended but I’d think (no medical advice either way) that baby is so well protected inside that it shouldn’t be impacted by 10 minutes sitting in the cold. Just my common sense approach, I could be wrong.

Cindy974 · 21/04/2020 07:53

Hi all, I'm late to the party,
This is my first time pregnant! I got an early scan back in March because I couldn’t believe I was actually pregnant. I measured 6w3days. So today Im exactly 12 weeks and have my dating scan booked for Thursday! So excited but also have all the pre scan nerves too. Hope everyone is well.
That was my scan at 6 weeks basically a tiny little shrimp with a yolk sac, will be interesting to see the difference on Thursday Grin

@Ashby2020 there is no way that will have hurt your baby, and I’ve never heard of sitting on a cold floor being potentially damaging. Inside your body is really warm! If sitting on a cold floor hurt a baby, humans would never would never have survived in all the cold places they’ve lived for millennia

BuffaloCauliflower · 21/04/2020 08:22

@excitednerves my miscarriage rates chart says only a 1.2% chance of miscarriage at 8+6. Where’s your one from?

KatieGlo · 21/04/2020 08:30

Just stumbled across this 20% off code for my expert midwife
MEMSAVE20
I know it's early, but I wanted some skin elastic for massaging my tight swollen boobs. Free delivery too.

FirstBaby2020 · 21/04/2020 08:34

@BuffaloCauliflower The one I've been checking is on a site called Datayze, it's not letting me add a screenshot on this but it bases it on your age, previous miscarriages, previous live births, height and weight optional and as I am 9 weeks 6 days today it says my chances are 2.6%

excitednerves · 21/04/2020 08:35

Oooh @BuffaloCauliflower even lower. I have been using this. datayze.com/miscarriage-chart

Either way, over 95% chance things are going well, it’s just that niggling doubt
