Has any one noticed major changes around the 8 week mark in regards to discharge and pains?

jeleigh · 17/04/2020 13:41

@roro87 I had began to have brown discharge (tmi sorry) and cramps at 8 weeks. I spoke to my midwife who said it’s quite normal at that stage unless it’s blood tinged or very painful cramps. I also then had an increase in discharge and cramps at 10 weeks.

canueve · 17/04/2020 13:45

@roro87 I had 3 random days of dark discharge - so minimal it didn't worry me at all. At 8 weeks I was actually not feeling much, but now at 9 I am feeling everything, so it does seem all pretty normal.

eleanorsos · 17/04/2020 13:47

Afternoon ladies, hope everyone's feeling OK. So sorry to hear those of you who have had losses, it must be such an awful time, hope you are finding ways to get the support you need.

I'm 10 weeks today and just had my booking appt over the phone. The midwife was lovely which helps so much in such an anxious time!

I have finally caved and bought a nice comfy maternity bra - I know it seems early but it's such a relief I don't know why I waited!! Can recommend Bravado if anyone is at a similar stage! 😂

roro87 · 17/04/2020 13:51

Ok that is great, i rang my doctor today and she just said if no bleeding don't worry. I'm glad others have experienced this too because this is my first and after 2 years ttc I am quite anxious. I'm due the 26th of November and have my first appointment on the 19th of May

Hancock2020 · 17/04/2020 13:52

@Eleanorsos I was thinking about it the other day, but if I got one now then surely I'd then have to get another one later on when they get even bigger?

KatieGlo · 17/04/2020 13:58

I bought these, so comfy with plenty of stretch. Not the most supportive and don't fully hide your nips if it's chilly. But bliss to wear compared to a normal bra!

eleanorsos · 17/04/2020 14:00

@Hancock2020 yeah I probably will have to go up a size at some point too. But figured it's worth it to be comfortable in the meantime, and the one I ordered is pretty adjustable/stretchy so should last a while. Not the sexiest but so much better!

BuffaloCauliflower · 17/04/2020 14:03

So my Dad text back to say he also has no stretch marks (that he’s aware of anyway) so this bodes well.

I started getting weird snot like discharge around 7 weeks, spoke to the doctor who says just normal cervical changes, but it’s a bit alarming!

I’ve been in Molke bras since before I was pregnant. Wonderful things! Comfy like the stretchy crop tops, but also supportive and actually give you a shape with the crop tops don’t tend to

SqidgeBum · 17/04/2020 14:12

I have been having relatively heavy discharge pretty constantly since week 7 (now 10+6). I figure if it's not bloody, it's fine. I have basically ignored it. Although I did a pretty brisk walk yesterday and thought I had wet my pants a bit Confused they joys of being a woman

Hancock2020 · 17/04/2020 14:16

@Squidgebum 🤣 I had that the other day as well. Luckily I live in the countryside and no one was around so I stopped just to take peek make sure it wasnt blood ☺

Pcosandpregnant · 17/04/2020 14:17

I have been having discharge on and off for the last week or so but it’s been heavier today! I’m 8+3. It looks exactly like snot! I googled it and it says it’s completely normal

jeleigh · 17/04/2020 14:20

@SqidgeBum I’m so glad you’ve said this 😂 I thought there’s been something seriously wrong with me the past week as this keeps happening to me too!

Hancock2020 · 17/04/2020 14:24

Urgh, is anyone having real bother with this sense of smell? I'm literally sat in the garden because there is nowhere left in the house that I can stand the smell of the various foods mum and DH are eating 🤮

SqidgeBum · 17/04/2020 14:27

For all your first time moms, you will find over the next year you will bond with other mom friends you meet over how often you wet your pants hahaha.

seventhrow · 17/04/2020 14:27

I am endlessly fascinated by how big my boobs are right now.

Hancock2020 · 17/04/2020 14:28

@seventhrow lol, my DH is amazed by my boobs 🤣🤣

BuffaloCauliflower · 17/04/2020 14:44

@Pcosandpregnant the snot is horrible! I’ve had discharge for decades but nothing like this

MillieY · 17/04/2020 14:53

Hi all, 10 weeks today and due 14th Nov and had first midwife booking appointment at 8 weeks but still waiting for ultrasound appointment to come through in the post. Is anyone in the same situation? Don't know if it's covid-19 related and understand alot is going on at hospitals atm, but not sure if I should text my midwife?

eleanorsos · 17/04/2020 14:56

@Hancock2020 @seventhrow 😂😂 Same!! They'd better appreciate them while they last! 😂 Gently of course....

NoseringGirl · 17/04/2020 14:57

@Hancock2020 the intense sense of smell is my least favourite part of pregnancy. I quit smoking 9 years ago now and gained a bloodhound like sense of smell. This doubles in pregnancy. Everything smells so strongly and mostly awful. We bought a new sofa in my second pregnancy because our one at the time smelt so bad to me (I maintain it did need replacing anyway) and my husband is genuinely nervous about what I'm going to want to get rid of this time!

Pcosandpregnant · 17/04/2020 15:01

I’m 8+3 weeks and haven’t heard from a midwife yet! Phoned today to chase it up and they said that apparently a midwife won’t contact you until you’re exactly 10 weeks. That’s not true is it?

MoreGinPlease2020 · 17/04/2020 15:11

My private scan has been moved from Tuesday to tomorrow afternoon - now totally bricking it! But they confirmed my fiancé can still come so that makes up for him not being allowed at next week's 12 week scan.

@seventhrow My fiancé hates it that my boobs have grown significantly but he's not allowed to touch them as they're too tender. Grin

eleanorsos · 17/04/2020 15:38

@pcosandpregnant Would have thought you would have a date for an appointment by now, I had my booking appt at 10 weeks exactly (today) but had the letter with the date a few weeks back. Did they say they'd definitely call at 10 weeks?

Fouryearslater · 17/04/2020 15:41

Wait, what? People are wearing bras whilst in lockdown? 😄
