Another new thread for the Nov mums to continue our discussion. It’s nearly time for our dating scans!

@LozEliza I'm 11 weeks tomorrow and I called my midwife Tuesday (after receiving my maternity notes), as it still not received my scan or blood test dates. She had sorted in 5 mins and called me back to confirm. They were obviously booked in but still haven't received any letters!

ChasingTheSunshineAlways · 16/04/2020 22:15

@mrs2468 & @Workingmama1 I'm sorry to hear both of your news. I wish you all the best and that you'll feel better soon. Thanks

Rainbowafterthestorm · 16/04/2020 22:23

@ParisInTheSpringtime, I’m having scan, bloods and urine done at the same time and my letter says expect an 1 and a half minimum if that helps you at all
@Workingmama1 I’m so sorry to hear this

calimommy · 16/04/2020 22:38

@mrs2468 @Workingmama1 I'm so sorry for you both. Losses are heartbreaking. Xx

Amymone · 16/04/2020 23:42

Very sad to hear about your losses. Sending loving thoughts xx

wannabebump · 17/04/2020 06:24

@mrs2468 @Workingmama1 sorry to hear that, thinking of you both Thanks

SqidgeBum · 17/04/2020 08:08

MoreGinPlease2020 · 17/04/2020 08:33

Really sorry to hear about the losses. Hope you're both getting lots of support. Thanks

Is anyone else starting to get heartburn? I woke up with it this morning and it really hurts!

Pcosandpregnant · 17/04/2020 08:56

@MoreGinPlease2020 I haven’t got heart burn but I can’t stop burping! It wakes me up at night and from the moment I wake up all I do is burp! It is the most weirdest thing! I’ve had to start sleeping almost sitting up.

SqidgeBum · 17/04/2020 09:05

@MoreGinPlease2020 I have been getting heartburn in the evenings. It's a bugger. I never have it normally.

HarrietM87 · 17/04/2020 09:12

@Workingmama1 and @mrs2468 I’m so so sorry to hear this. Will be thinking of you.

SqidgeBum · 17/04/2020 09:15

I know this may be a few weeks off for people, but I just bought bio oil from amazon. I used on my stomach it in my last pregnancy from about 12 weeks all the way up to the end, and it worked well for me. I have no stretch marks from DD (may just be me but I think the bio oil helped). I have also heard palmer's is good. I just didnt like the smell (one is particularly chocolaty). Just thought I would throw the thought out there.

MissingMo · 17/04/2020 09:16

@Workingmama1 and @mrs2468 I am so sorry. Thinking of you both.

BeMorePacific · 17/04/2020 09:24

@SqidgeBum I used it throughout my pregnancy. But right at the end got a load of stretch marks. Unfortunately I think it is down to your genetics. I liked the oil so will be using it again. They genuinely don’t bother me now. xx

Rainbowafterthestorm · 17/04/2020 09:31

@SqidgeBum, I have bought some ready off amazon, as our deliveries/post are quite slow at the minute. Not tried it yet though.

@MoreGinPlease2020 I’ve woken up with heart burn this morning, but tbh I’ve woke up generally feeling rubbishy, like I’ve got a head cold. I’m hoping it’s just hay fever that I’m not taking anything for.

@ParisInTheSpringtime, my last post should have read ‘the letter says expect at least a 1hr 30 min appointment minimum.’

HarrietM87 · 17/04/2020 09:38

I did loads of reading about this and apparently stretch marks are all down to genetics - the tears are under the top layer of skin so nothing you rub into the top layer makes any difference. It is a nice relaxing thing to do though!

I had loads of stretch marks as a teen so expected to get them in my last pregnancy. Was chuffed to get to 40 weeks with none and then loads appeared when I went overdue! They’ve all faded away now and you can barely see them.

Jaffas22 · 17/04/2020 09:46

Hello all ☺️ Congratulations on all of your pregnancies & hope your all doing well!

Hope you don’t mind me commenting!

I was in the tread for October babies but at my 12 week scan my due date has now been changed to 1st November so I don’t really know which thread I belong to😂 is there anybody else due around the same time? ☺️

Rainbowafterthestorm · 17/04/2020 10:04

Hi @Jaffas22, At the minute my due date is 9th Nov according to my 8 week scan (due to spotting) but I have been told that will probably change. The midwife at the epau did a double take at my scan photo and said, that looks further along than 8 weeks +4, it’s a chunky little thing... I’m not sure what that means.

What did you think your actual due date was, as it moved by many days?

Tonicandgin · 17/04/2020 10:06

Anyone else having vivid dreams?

I had a really traumatic dream last night that my Mum died. I woke up so upset and it's carried in through the morning. I only spoke to her last night and trying to think of an excuse to call her so I can hear her voice. Bloody hormones.

I seem to remember this happening previously in pregnancy. When my hormones are high.

BuffaloCauliflower · 17/04/2020 10:10

@HarrietM87 this interests me as my mum has none, very well preserved stomach after 3 children. I currently don’t have a single stretch mark, but I’ve also never grown at any speed in the way I will with pregnancy.

My DS however has terrible stretch marks, really awful and they’ve never gone. But her first was 10lbs and she went from a slim size 8 beforehand, put on about 6 stone. So perhaps other factors at play?

BuffaloCauliflower · 17/04/2020 10:12

@HarrietM87 could good bump support still help though? Less pressure on the skin?

Rainbowafterthestorm · 17/04/2020 10:12

@Tonicandgin, I’ve been having them since the start of lockdown. I’ve always had them when my body temp is slightly raised though. So I presumed it was a mixture of lockdown anxiety and raised basal body temp. Mine are causing me to sleep talk, my OH thinks it’s hilarious, he tells me what I said every morning. The other day, apparently id told him that everyone had eaten the marshmallows. We don’t even have any marshmallows in the house!

Tonicandgin · 17/04/2020 10:16

@BuffaloCauliflower I have no stretch marks after 2 kids. I put the usual oils etc on it, and I had very very big bumps, my conclusion is it's genetic. My Mum doesn't have any either but neither of us have toned stomachs (and tbh I never have had even when I was a size 8!). There's only so much you can do - I think it's pre determined.

FilthyforFirth · 17/04/2020 10:17

Wow this thread moves fast!

So sorry @Workingmama1 and @mrsAndeke

With an EDD of Nov 26th, I feel like I am the bottom of the pile! I am 8+1 and the HG has well and truly set in. I am keeping food and fluids down but being sick daily and the nausea is utterly horrific. I'm barely making it out of bed. Really hoping this is different to last time as another 32 weeks seems impossible right now.

FilthyforFirth · 17/04/2020 10:19

I annoyong still have stretch marks on my boobs. The ones on my rather large tummy have faded but they are still there on my boobs. Though I did go from a 36c to a 40e last time... Blush
