@footprintsintheslow Yes. I have it!! It was a brilliant read, and really helped.

Rachael321 · 10/05/2020 20:16

Pretty laidback weekend for us, some alcohol free fizz as a treat, was great.

OH still not fully recovered after accident at work but getting there!!

Plenty movements, it's like river dance some nights, can even see my belly moving which is weird!

For anyone that doesnt know... F&F at tesco have 50%off everything just now for those looking to buy some bits!

Bump pic 25+3!!!

@Rachael321 bump looks fab! I wish you hadn't told me about the f&f sale, I'm trying to be good this week 😂

@footprintsintheslow it's not one I've read, but I'm definitely one for self education, anything that helps and makes you feel better is a positive!

Rachael321 · 10/05/2020 20:35

@knotemma the only saving grace is that they aren't online!! Now have everything we need to get started... I think!

Knotemma · 10/05/2020 21:19

@Rachael321 I've just added up my Amazon baby wishlist... It's currently sitting at around £850... So I'm not allowed to buy cute clothes until the essentials are sorted. Admittedly that includes about £250 for cloth nappies ... But I need to sort that stuff before I get lured into more tiny clothes!

Avocuddles · 10/05/2020 21:20

@footprintsintheslow yes I read the Lesley Regan book after my second miscarriage and found it very helpful - it is informative and fact based but in a balanced, practical way unlike some other books I read (in particular 'It Starts with the Egg' which leaves you with the impression that pretty much everything you come into contact with impacts negatively on your fertility.....).

@Rachael321 @Knotemma I'm gutted that F&F isn't sold online anymore, my closest 'big' Tesco is a good half hour drive away....let us know if you get any bargains!

OP posts:
Knotemma · 10/05/2020 21:28

@Avocuddlesi hadn't realised that they weren't online anymore! That makes me officially safe, I'm not leaving the house to shop if it doesn't involve food 😂

footprintsintheslow · 10/05/2020 21:32

@Knotemma I have a two year old and we use cloth nappies and wipes if you ever want to chat about that.

footprintsintheslow · 10/05/2020 21:36

@Avocuddles we used to chat when I was here before. My old user name included Avocados.

Anyway that book is amazing but it's put me off taking aspirin in my circumstances. Although it's obviously great for others.

MysteriousSheep · 10/05/2020 22:13

@Knotemma and @footprintsintheslow we also used cloth nappies for our 12 year old - ended up passing them on (in fact didn’t keep any baby stuff at all, so will have to start again for this one). I loved reusable nappies and didn’t find them any faff at all, also I remember it feeling very ‘wholesome’ wrapping his little bottom in cloth. Randomly, last year I entered a competition on green parent magazine online (every now and then I click the links in emails I’ve subscribed over the years) and won a load of nappies and reusable wipes. Wasn’t pregnant at the time and was kinda disappointed I hadn’t won a holiday to Cornwall, but am now really pleased!

SunStruck · 11/05/2020 03:55

Wanted to pop in to say good luck to all the 20 week scans today (@Avocuddles @TunnocksTcake) and I know a few others) ❤️
I'll be thinking of you all and waiting to see cute scan pictures 🥰 I've been a bit quiet as I'm nervous about my own scan on Wednesday, especially since I'm really not feeling anything yet (I don't have an anterior placenta so I should be feeling more by now I think?!).

I'm 20 weeks today - Bump is growing despite lack of movements (at least those I can really feel) so I really hope everything is fine (pic included!). @Rachael321 - I love your bump pic, it's glorious 🥰

@Littlegoth congrats on a positive scan☺️

@MrsMGE hey sista how are you doing? I hope you've had a good weekend ❤️

SunStruck · 11/05/2020 04:07

@MrsMGE I just replied to you on the other thread 🤗

MrsG3 · 11/05/2020 06:58

Morning ladies, just popping on to say good luck to everyone having a scan this week. We've got our 12 week one tomorrow morning and feeling sick already. Fingers crossed we all have positive news and some lovely scan photos x

Rachael321 · 11/05/2020 07:02

Good luck everyone with scans today and this week!! Flowers

didslysquiddlydoo · 11/05/2020 08:01

Thanks for the good luck for today guys - feel sick as a dog and barely slept last night but my appointment is early so at least I don't have to wait around all morning!!!
It's funny how anxieties change throughout different points - baby was flipping about last night and this morning so I'm pretty sure there's a heartbeat (as opposed to how convinced I was that things had gone bad at the 12 week scan!), but now I'm convinced I'm going to be told there's something wrong!! 🙈
Bloody pregnancy anxiety, especially after loss!!!

Good luck to the others with their scans today!!! I've got everything crossed that we all come back with positive news!!! 💓💓

tmc14 · 11/05/2020 08:27

Good luck to everyone with scans today, & welcome to the new people. Keeping everything crossed that everyone here gets good news & that all babies arrive safely xxx
(Haven’t has a chance to read everything past couple of days, will try & catch up later)

Whiffle77 · 11/05/2020 08:55

Wow so many scans! Good luck everyone today and this week, I hope you all have really positive experiences!
@SunStruck and @Rachael321 you both look great! I am seriously bloated at the minute, cant wait for a few more months when I (hopefully) look pregnant rather than just fat!!

AnxiousLady1 · 11/05/2020 09:37

Happy Monday everyone! Looking forward to seeing good news updates from those with 20 week scans today, and those with 12 week and private scans throughout the week. Hope those that haven't checked in in a while are doing well.

Updating my weeks on again. Smile Now I'm at the 14 week mark I'm starting to try to photograph bump and weigh myself to track whether there's any changes week to week. Really hard to tell at this stage!! I feel like my stomach has been like this since bfore 10 weeks so I'm thinking it's still 95% cake in there.

Morning all!

Just got back from my scan and so relieved to say that everything was fine. Baby didn't want to reveal their sex to start with but after a bit of juggling around I found out that we're having a daughter, we're both over the moon and so relieved after a few weeks where anxiety has been through the roof.

@AnxiousLady1 I would say to not regularly track your weight if possible - I'm still pretty much the exact same weight as before I fell pregnant which was worrying me a bit but all is good with baby and the sonographer told me really not to worry about it as everyone is very different. Another friend due only a couple of weeks before me has put on almost two stone but was a lot slimmer to start with which I guess proves the point! Weekly 'bumpy' photos are a great idea, I've been taking them since 10 weeks though again don't necessarily expect a noticeable difference every week!

Updating my weeks now - can't believe we've made it to the halfway point, it feels amazing....

@Avocuddles Fantastic news!!! I'm so pleased for you! You've had a particularly rough second trimester so far, and having gone through COVID as well it's reassuring to know that baby was still nice and safe tucked up inside. Congratulations on your little girl. I can't wait to know the sex!

Thanks for the advice on the weight gain. I'll admit I went back and had a read of some of the earlier messages in this thread as I did specifically remember you raising this concern. The messages from others on here were reassuring. I think maybe I'm impatient and wanting to see a notable difference. Or with being to early to experience any movement I want the reassurance there's definitely a growing baby in there!! I have rationalized to myself though that I was slim before getting pregnant, and historically my weight has never fluctuated much at all. And there's a definite tummy bump there now that I can't deny. So I'll take reassurance from that and knowing I might be slower to gain weight.

Knotemma · 11/05/2020 11:17

@Avocuddles thats brilliant news, congratulations on a little girl! So pleased everything went well for you and that she looks perfect!

@AnxiousLady1 I agree that bump shots, rather than weight tracking are a lovely way to record your pregnancy. Everyone is different on the weight gain front (I don't own scales, because I can get numbers obsessed, when actually clothes fit and the way I feel are way more important) so I have no idea if I've gained anything, though I suspect I probably have. I mentioned being nervous about having to get in the scales at appointments to my friends who had kids last year and neither of them were weighed at all during their pregnancy, so I guess it's not an important factor

AnxiousLady1 · 11/05/2020 11:29

Thanks @knotemma. That's also good to know! I think I will take a breather on the weighing in that case. I guess that's one of the pitfalls of googling! Google says you gain X every week, and when you don't you think something is wrong! I never weighed myself prior to pregnancy and like you, just went by how clothes fit.

Out of curiosity, have the mums to be on here that are further into their second trimester (and further) developed linea nigras? Or is that another thing that is hit and miss? I'm quite fair skinned anyway, so thinking I might not have this.

Knotemma · 11/05/2020 11:38

@anxiouslady1 in some areas it seems to be a big focus (mostly the states from the forums and stuff) but other than confirming BMI at the start it hasn't been mentioned.
I thought I was starting to get the Linea Negra, however on closer inspection I think that I've just got a bit more hair 😂 it's does seem pretty common from what I've read.

I'm having another sicky day today, I'm struggling sitting at my desk, I feel all squashed up. So I've brought the laptop to bed so I can work reclined 😂 however the goblin downs not seem to approve, because it keeps kicking where the laptop is resting on my bump 😂🤣

AnxiousLady1 · 11/05/2020 12:36

@Knotemma I was reading a little more on the linea negra and feel better knowing this is hit and miss and doesn't happen everyone. I think it would have been one more thing I was constantly on the lookout for!

Sorry you are still feeling rubbish. This weekend was the first time I felt properly okay. I did loads of housework and made myself start eating more sensibly. It felt great to have a little control back (for now). Glad you have the option to work from bed. The little kicks to the laptop (while distracting) must feel great!!

I had a delivery today with a couple bits of maternity wear. I was putting off getting anything like that but found even my leggings weren't entirely comfortable when lounging around the house. I needed something I didn't have to roll the waistband down on! Got a pair of over the bump ones and I must say this is the best thing to happen me in weeks Wink.

Have attached my first cheeky little bump pic on here.
