@passthemustard so lovely that you’ve had a scan already. How are you feeling? I’m 9 weeks tomorrow and haven’t even booked in for bloods yet!

passthemustard · 14/05/2020 17:28

@Rose559 I was just super paranoid after some mmc’s so booked for a private early scan. Can’t get hold of my midwife to book in for bloods or get the 12 week scan organised lol. Congratulations to you! How are you feeling? I’m tired, very sore huge boobs and a bit of a headache, no nausea yet though.

viixie · 15/05/2020 10:22

I don't know what happened yesterday I had these awful pains and then an hour or so later had bad diarrhoea like water which happened again later on so don't know what's going on. Sorry to much information. On the plus side I received my scan date 8th June Grin

Jasminex1 · 15/05/2020 10:32

@viixie 3 days before mine!!😁

passthemustard · 15/05/2020 10:46

@viixie hope you’re feeling better now. I had that in my last pregnancy from time to time. Doctor told me it’s because our immune system is lower when pregnant and just be more careful washing fruit and veg and wash hands often! (This was way before coronavirus lol)

scblob · 18/05/2020 20:43

So today I had my 1st scan 11w6d due 1/12/20 and I've finally told me 8yos that he's going to be a big brother. It's been a very overwhelming day. Whilst I was at my appointment I've seen a doctor who informed me that my son was a small baby and during this pregnancy I will have to be scanned more frequently to check the baby's growing as expected. I'm really shocked at this as during my previous pregnancy I was never informed his was small. However looking back he was 6lbs12 and 2 weeks late. I'm really worried as I'm following SW diet to maintain a healthy lifestyle and anxious that may affect the baby's weight. When I mentioned this to the DR today they reassured me all will be ok on the diet as long as I'm not actively trying to lose weight etc. Sorry for the long message I'm just very overwhelmed with a mix of emotions. Xx

Congratulations @scblob. So lovely to see the scan. Still haven’t even heard about bloods yet and I’m nearly 10 weeks.

How is everyone’s bumps looking? I’ve lost 6.5kg since the start of my pregnancy and my stomach is flatter than it’s even been in my adult life. Wondering when I’ll actually start to look pregnant!!

Kpm7 · 18/05/2020 22:28

@scblob congratulations so lovely to see you had your scan.

@Rose599 I had my bloods today. She estimates me at 10wks +1.
The only reason for my bloods today is the pregnancy unit I hope to have baby do test to ensure there are no complications. I think due to Covid the bloods are being done at the 12 week scan.

I just want my scan already 😀.

Hopefully you will have an appointment soon. Call the docs to see the situation and get some reassurance xx

GrandTheftWalrus · 19/05/2020 02:32

Hi all. How are we all doing? Finally got a scan date of 3rd june. But I'm going for a private one on Wednesday at 6.45pm so that DP can come with me. This is my second but his third.

Symptoms are still kinda non existent but I never feel hungry anymore just sick straight away if I dont eat.

GrandTheftWalrus · 19/05/2020 02:34

Meant to add I'm getting my bloods done on 28th. Should've been last week but DP was working and I couldn't take dd with me. So going then. Hopefully the scan on Wednesday goes well.

scblob · 19/05/2020 10:18

@Rose559 I had my bloods done yesterday I have been told that because of Covid they have having minimal contact to protect everyone. My bump isn't a bump really I'm more bloated than anything else. However I've gain 4lbs which is very much to do with lockdown rather than the pregnancy which is why I'm so keen to be back with SW I really want to avoid gaining excessive weight xx

Kpm7 · 19/05/2020 14:50

Has anybody had baths? I really want one but read I shouldn’t.
X

Whiffle77 · 19/05/2020 15:05

Yes I'm having regular baths @kpm7 you just shouldn't have them blisteringly hot as it will raise your body temp too much

jojanna · 19/05/2020 17:51

Hullo all, I'm waiting for my first scan this Friday... can't wait - feel it'll finally bring the clarity/some certainty over what I'm getting into - atm I feel like it could all be a figment of my imagination. I think I'm at 11 weeks today, but my symptoms have been pretty minimal lately - kinda tired, breaking out on chest (this is not normal for me!), bit crampy, but no nausea since very early on. This would be my first, so it's all very new for me.

Kpm7 · 21/05/2020 23:28

Anybody else an emotional wreck. I feel so irritated and no patience. I am getting easily annoyed.

Any advice? I am looking for some good audio books to listen to for self development or help me deal with annoying people x

viixie · 22/05/2020 15:32

What is the Facebook group ?

Has anyone got a bit of a belly yet ? I look like I've ate too many roast dinners Envy

Candoolili · 22/05/2020 16:36

I have a massive belly every evening that’s largely gone by the am. Mood depends on how much sleep I’ve gotten!

Hi all! I'm due beginning of December with my first, scan next Wednesday! I'm not sure how to placemark if someone can tell me?

EveningReflection · 24/05/2020 09:17

I'm over 12 weeks now and still struggling with severe morning sickness. Mentally I had been trying to get to 12 weeks in the hope things would start to improve, when they didn't, I started feeling a bit hopeless.

So last week I decided to speak to my GP again to see if there were alternative medications available. First I decided to do a 10 second Google for morning sickness medications, I came across Xonvea on the NHS website,, which was apparently licensed for use during pregnancy in the UK a few years ago (having been used in Canada and the US for decades).

I spoke to my GP and she suggested some alternative medications with the caveat that "you're not really supposed to use them when pregnant, but people do and I've never heard of any problems". This concerned me, so I mentioned Xonvea. She had never heard of it, but looked in up in her book of medicine and saw that it didn't say it was unsuitable for pregnant ladies, and she prescribed it. The pharmacy had also never heard of it, and had to order it in, saying it would take around 5 working days (now it's a bank holiday weekend, argh).

I'm currently having to ration my last couple of Cetirizine, and feeling really unwell as a result!

Anyway, at my 12 week scan on Friday I mentioned Xonvea to the midwife and she had never heard of it either. To be honest I'm completely baffled as to why healthcare professionals are prescribing people things that aren't meant for pregnancy, based on their anecdotal evidence that it's fine. Especially, when there is something specifically licensed for pregnancy, backed up by large scale medical trials, and no one has ever heard of it!?

I understand that it's unusual to have anything licensed for pregnant ladies because no one wants to do trials on them just in case, so it doesn't mean that the things they prescribe aren't safe.

I'm just a bit confused by the whole thing. What are other peoples experiences with morning sickness medication? I'm wondering if in other parts of the country, things are different?

I know there may be people who say we shouldn't take anything. I agree that in an ideal world we wouldn't take anything, but it's so important to be able to keep food and water down, and stay out of hospital (especially at a time like this).

I'm already thinking that my dream of having two children may be impossible. I'm wondering if it would be fair, when I have a young child to look after, to knowingly make myself so unwell for so long again.

Rose559 · 24/05/2020 15:28

Scan and bloods booked for 9th June. Should be around 12.5 weeks!! So excited!! (Still feeling rough as hell)

Candoolili · 24/05/2020 20:38

@EveningReflection that’s strange, I know plenty of people who were placed on anti sickness meds with no comment, assumed it was relatively common, and perfectly safe.

Had private scan today, so looks like I’m 9+4 rather than 10+1, had assumed so as ovulated around day 18. Getting nipt done but have to wait until 10 weeks for that. All looks good so far 😀 roll on second trimester when I hopefully start to feel less tired and Ill

zhivagodr · 25/05/2020 10:14

Hey ladies, I got a viability scan at 8+5 and I’m so glad I did. Similar to a lot of you ladies I feel a bit cheated with this pregnancy, it hasn’t felt “real” think with the limited contact with midwives etc. But this is my first experience so maybe this is how it always is? Unfortunately my partner couldn’t join but I LOVED the experience and was so happy to get a scan - everything was okay.

Nauseous and sick (I’m 10+3... wfh is a godsend). I never know what I’m going to be in the mood for, favourite foods turn my stomach. Ice lollies, satsumas, apples and salt and vinegar crisps are good.

Have midwives appointment tomorrow. Haven’t told anyone, but looking forward to that when it happens! Soooo looking forward to moving into the second trimester and hopefully nausea and sickness abating.

Kpm7 · 03/06/2020 09:33

Scan day today GrinGrin
