@Jasminex1 and @rooarsome sorry to hear you're also having problems getting appointments.

I managed to get an email address to track down a midwife. They responded this morning and have given me an appointment in 2 weeks. It's made me quite irrationally emotional. I did the referral at 6 weeks and my first time speaking to anyone will be 11 weeks! My understanding is you're meant to have a scan around then?! Gawd knows when I'll get my scan! It's my first pregnancy and I'm an older mum, I honestly feel abandoned.

@PBailey20 sorry to hear about your sickness, you sound worse than me and I'm really struggling, so I can't imagine what you're going through! I've mostly been in bed too except when I go to look after mum. I've tried sickness tablets and sea bands, and neither worked for me. I'm clinging to the fact that I'm nearly at 9 weeks and that's supposed to be the worst point, so in theory things should start to improve! The last 3 weeks have felt like months, but I'm hoping that things will "speed up" once I'm over the psychological hump.

Hatepickinganame · 29/04/2020 09:26

Hey guys, how is everyone doing? Im now 7+3 and nausea is unreal, my boobs are so sore and huge, ive already had to order new bras to cope as none of mine fit! Keep telling myself that in about 3 weeks ill feel a tiny bit better... am i kidding myself 😂

makingababy · 29/04/2020 10:41

Hi All - Can I join you? Due date 27 Dec and I'm 5+3.

I'm feeling anxious because I'm a bit older (36 by due date) and my symptoms seem to have reduced this week. Last week I was v crampy and v tired, maybe a bit sick-y. Also very tender breasts. This week I have the occasional light cramps but they go away quickly. Breasts still tender but not as much (though they still seem bigger). No nausea yet.

Anyone have a similar experience for some comfort?

Jasminex1 · 29/04/2020 10:51

@EveningReflection I'm so sorry that you feel that way! I was feeling exactly the same when I was being told different information from each person I spoke to. I'm 6+2 today and the midwife just phoned for my booking in, the hospital will now send me a letter to have my scan and bloods on the same day and I won't speak to her again until 14 weeks to discuss blood results. Seems a long way to go before I now have contact with anyone again which feels strange!

EveningReflection · 29/04/2020 11:39

@makingababy I'm an older mum too, having just turned 38.

I had sore breasts and felt very tired like you at that stage.

The nausea didn't start for me until around week 6, so you probably still have that to look forward to I'm afraid!

MommyPum · 29/04/2020 12:06

Hey @makingababy.
I'm 7 weeks today and I haven't had any nausea as well. My breasts have grown bigger but can't really say they are sore unless someone/husband touches me unexpectedly. I had a scan at 6weeks and everything was fine.

Sammy161 · 29/04/2020 12:22

Hi ladies, do you mind if I join please?

So I'm 34 and this is my first pregnancy currently at about 8 weeks I think so due around early December although I haven't seen a doctor or anybody yet.

I have my booking in appointment appointment next week which will be over the phone. We are very excited but nervous at the same time really want a scan just to know everything is ok.

Nausea hasn't been that bad thankfully just sometimes sick when I brush my teeth (weird!!) and my gag reflex seem to be on overdrive, drinking lots of water and eating little and often seems to help.

MommyPum · 29/04/2020 12:56

So weird. I also gag when I brush my teeth so you are not alone.

EveningReflection · 29/04/2020 13:11

I also have trouble brushing my teeth without gagging.

What does the nausea feel like for others?

A couple of years ago I was on holiday in Tenerife and we went on a small boat to see pilot whales. I used to get travel sick as a kid but I'd been on boats before without any problem. However, this trip I suffered with terrible sea sickness. People were trying to point the whales out to me and I honestly couldn't care less because I felt so ill!

The last three weeks I've felt like I've been back on that boat, every waking minute. I'm desperate to know when I can get off!

The only thing that has given me any respite, is having a cold wet flannel on my face and neck. So that's been my life, lying in bed or on the sofa with a wet flannel on my face!

Anyone got any other tips for things that can help? (other than sickness pills and bands, neither of which have worked for me)

RunnerGirl123 · 29/04/2020 13:57

Brushing my teeth is what sets me off too. Also if I don't eat every hour - 90 mins or so, I just start feeling sick. As soon as I eat something, it goes. I think it's definitely starting to peak as I'm 9 weeks tomorrow. I just hope it's a sign everything is progressing as it should!

lc86 · 29/04/2020 16:15

Oh girls please don't tell me it gets worse! I'm almost 8 weeks and can't imagine feeling more nauseous than I already do!

Lou45678 · 29/04/2020 16:31

Hi everyone! Grin

Can I join? I'm 7+1 and just about getting used to the idea! It's so nice to see so many others going through the same symptoms, very reassuring!

I'm nauseous too but I'm finding that it's worst when I'm hungry which is what I find with seasickness too. It tends to get bad if I'm out on a long walk so have started taking fruit with me - doesn't always help but mostly it does.

This does mean though that I am snacking SO much and struggling to exercise as I get out of breath so quickly and kinda lacking motivation, is anyone else finding the same? I don't mind putting on weight, I just don't want to get too unfit from the start as I guess our bodies are about to go through a lot....! Any tips/thoughts?

Excited to be part of the December club!

Hannahbobs · 29/04/2020 16:49

Hi @Lou45678!

Welcome to the December thread and congrats:)
I'm currently 7+6 and sound exactly the same as you in terms of nausea when hungry! Im eating so much, mainly unhealthy beige foods!
I cant help with tips on exercise motivation but wanted to reassure you I'm in exactly the same boat...I'm normally really active and doing loads of exercise but done nothing for almost a week now due to feeling a bit rubbish and having zero motivation! I'm hoping this phase passes so we can regain some fitness before birth!

We also have a secret facebook group going with the lovely ladies from here.. I cant remember who the admins are but if you're interested in joining I'm sure they will send you the details! :)

Babydust1921 · 29/04/2020 18:20

Hi all, I had a horrible scare this morning.

Bleeding and horrible pelvic pains. I suffer with cervical erosion so the usual bleeding I can deal with but this was much worse. After a trip to a&e and a scan and bloods checked, all is well! They said baby is measuring around 6-7 weeks and is currently 4.2mm. My dates put me at 7 weeks, so I wasn't far off.

Just wondering if anybody follows Ramzi theory? I have one of each already, so this baby is an added blessing :)

Lou45678 · 29/04/2020 21:25

@Hannahbobs glad to hear I'm not alone! And very much with you on the beige foods. The facebook group sounds good, I'll keep my eyes peeled for details

@Babydust1921 wow that must have been so scary for you, I'm so glad everything was ok!

Pettirosso · 30/04/2020 18:03

Bleugh! Has anyone else not got sicky nausea but just feels very uncomfortable and permanently like they’ve got indigestion? Am wondering if this is pregnancy or something else but what started as nausea in week 5 is now just really bad indigestion and then extreme hunger very quickly (in week 8)

Hope everyone is well xx

ohhellojo · 30/04/2020 18:27

Hello!
I’ve been lurking on here the past couple of weeks, due early/mid December. Feelingso tired and sicky!
I’ve just booked a private scan at a Window to the Womb clinic and I’m wondering does anyone have any experience with them? We’ve used Ultrasound Direct in the past as they’re more local to us, but they’re closed with the outbreak atm.
This will be our second child, but fifth pregnancy so I’m nervous anyway!

ElsaCC · 30/04/2020 20:47

@Pettirosso I feel exactly the same. I'm now on week 7 and this started last week. It's just a constant feeling of not having digested the food properly and then feel very hungry but can barely eat. I find sparkling water and camomile tea helps a bit

Rose559 · 30/04/2020 23:18

Hope it’s OK to join! I’m new here! Currently 7 weeks pregnant with my first baby! Due 18th December according to NHS calculator and have my first midwife appointment 13th May. This was very much unplanned but most welcome now we’ve got over the initial shock. Not a great time though with everything going on!! 🤦🏼‍♀️

Babydust1921 · 01/05/2020 09:34

@Rose559 welcome!

I had previously thought that my date was 18th December but from my early scan 2 days ago I'm guessing around 22nd December. Very close to Christmas! It is also my Son's birthday, so hoping baby will chose it's own day ;)

@ElsaCC I am exactly the same! I had to go to bed at 8.30pm last night because the sickness was unreal! But I was also so hungry, even though I'd just demolished 2 large jacket potatoes. I remember this oh so well from my last pregnancy, my first (a girl) was a breeze! I ate everything and anything, had no sickness and very little symptoms. My second pregnancy (a boy) was the total opposite, exactly the same to this one. Sickness, nausea, headaches, cramping, bleeding (all is well after checks) hunger, indigestion, spots! You name it, I've got it.

So I'm thinking it's another little boy!

Hope you are all well!x

Hatepickinganame · 01/05/2020 09:52

Hi to all the new guys joining us! Hope you're all doing ok. Im so fed up of feeling sick now 🤮 ive put on loads of weight cause im constantly eating to combat the nausea! Any tips for healthier snacks to help??

In other news, yesterday we had to go to hospital for my oh to have a blood test as i carry a blood disorder. (We would have a 1 in 4 chance of an incredibly poorly baby if he's also a carrier.) So now got a few days wait to see if all is ok. Its highly unlikely that he will carry it though.

makingababy · 01/05/2020 11:34

Morning everyone! Hope you're all ok today.

@MommyPum @EveningReflection Thanks for your reassuring words! Still not nauseous but first time pregnancy so no idea what to expect. I do get v hungry and a lot more often than before. I've booked a private early scan for 2 weeks so trying to stay positive but the wait is passing sooo slowly!

@Hatepickinganame Hope your wait flies by and you get good news soon.

Lou45678 · 01/05/2020 13:02

@hatepickinganame Kiwis sometimes hit the spot for me! Though the only dead cert to make me feel better is toast with marmite or weirdly, toast with anchovies.

CaroRyan · 01/05/2020 13:14

Hi All,
I hope I am ok to join. I just found out I pregnant, week 6 today due Dec 25th. This is my third pregnancy, I have a healthy little boy born in 2016 but I had a miscarriage in the summer of 2017 (at 7 and 1/2 weeks but I didn't have any bleeding so I didn't find out until my 12 week scan). We have been trying to get pregnant since 2017 so over the moon that this is now happening.

Nausea has not set in yet but a lot of lower back pain and some cramping and much more tired than I remember on previous pregnancies.
I am feeling quite anxious at this point since I miscarried previously and I am 36. I have a doctors appointment on Wednesday and I am hoping he will send me for an early scan or I will book one privately, not sure if I can deal with the stress waiting for a 12 week scan.

Ch31sey · 01/05/2020 17:41

Hi Everyone

I’m only 6weeks and I’m feeling nauseous and tired all the time.. anyone else feeling like they’ve just got no energy?
