@Whiffle77 thank you! I was just so confused, when I rang last week they told me to call back today if I hadn't heard anything but today said it won't be for another 3 weeks x

LuLaLaLa · 20/04/2020 13:06

@Lily501 thank you. Much better. Still cramping but no bleeding and it’s more achey than anything else. Hopefully just been baby burrowing in more

User4638 · 20/04/2020 14:04

Can I join you ladies? Just got my BFP after AF didn't show today Grin
Baby #3 for us, due date of 27th December according to the NHS calculator.

rooarsome · 20/04/2020 14:32

I've been trying to phone the midwives all morning and have gotten nowhere! Has anyone else ever had bacterium vaginosis during pregnancy? I have some Canesbalance and I've read that it's safe to use, but I also have a SCH they detected on my early scan. My GP is closed today and don't know where else to turn x

Helpthisgirl · 20/04/2020 18:36

@User4638 your due around the time of me! In the 22nd baby number #4 so excited 😆

User4638 · 20/04/2020 18:54

Congrats Helpthisgirl! Have you got any symptoms? I had some major cramps for a couple of days earlier in the week but nothing since.
The 12 week scan seems a long way away!

Rosie399 · 20/04/2020 18:54

Anyone else getting cramping ? I’m six weeks. I had cramping between 4-5 and that stopped, but it’s come back again.

Helpthisgirl · 20/04/2020 18:59

@User4638 congratulations to you to!!
Same as me some cramps and that’s it, I know first 12 weeks are so worrying, hope all goes well, and enjoy having 3. X

Jasminex1 · 20/04/2020 19:19

@Rosie399 I'm 5 weeks and have had cramps for about a week! Sometimes even worse than period cramps 😩😂

Pettirosso · 20/04/2020 19:44

Anyone else just feeling so so sick?? So far crackers and polos are helping but this is pretty full on for 7+0 IME.... grateful for any helpful tips! Xxxx

Mrsallen17 · 20/04/2020 20:09

@Jasminex1 I was surprised my midwife called so early. 6 weeks I had mine.

I’m having an early scan next week- I should be 8 weeks then so give me some piece of mind.

I was having really bad cramps 5-6weeks but as I’ve hit week 7 it’s all nausea. @pettirosso I’ve found eating little and often has helped- not letting myself get hungry or that’s it for the day.

I spent Sunday dry heaving all day!

Few questions- are any of you ladies vegetarian? Do you think I need to add anything to diet without meat? I’m taking pregnancy care vitamins and eating as well as I can through the nausea?

Jasminex1 · 20/04/2020 20:14

@Mrsallen17 did you have any calls with your GP beforehand? As it's my first I feel like I'm wandering in the dark a little bit and it's making me so nervous!

What are your thoughts on telling close family/friends before 12 weeks?

Colouringinbook · 20/04/2020 20:33

@Mrsallen17

I'm veggie, we have a pretty varied diet of different vegetables, pulses and alternative protein sources. Last pregnancy the midwife just sort of glared at me when I told her because I think she still lived in 1953 but my iron levels were fine and I was never advised to take anything other than certain individual vitamins.

Pettirosso · 20/04/2020 22:47

@Colouringinbook love the 1953 comment!

@Jasminex1 your first appointment will be fine. It’s very thorough and goes through all the information about your background that might be relevant to the pregnancy.

I won’t be telling anyone until we have had a dating scan but that’s based on my previous experiences. You should do what you feel comfortable with ... ps my mum always knew / I spilled the beans and I find her knowing a great support.

Thanks for the tips @Mrsallen17... I’m like a crap 80s buffet at the moment ... crackers, cheese and pineapple and carrot sticks....

Mrsallen17 · 21/04/2020 08:36

@Jasminex1 I called my doctor as soon as I had my BFP. I was 5+4 at that point and he had a telephone appointment with me that day. The midwife called the following Wednesday and dropped my bounty pack off at my doorstep.

I called my mum and my partners mum the day we found out. Trying for 2.5 years so we wanted to shout from the rooftops. I’ve since told my sister but that’s it until 12 weeks. Unless work ask me to go back in before then I’ll have to tell them then I guess.

@Colouringinbook good to know- I’ve never been healthier since going veggie so I thought I’d be fine but my husband asked if I should be eating some chicken. The thought makes me feel sick. I have eaten abit of fish though.

@Pettirosso I had visions of fruit and veg but tbh all that stops the sickness waves is crumpets. Think you have to go with your body and after 12 weeks when the sickness dies down I can concentrate on being healthy. It’s killing me not running but I’m too Nauseous to get outside.

Jasminex1 · 21/04/2020 08:58

@Mrsallen17 I haven't even spoken to my doctor yet. I called them the day I found out and was told the midwife would call me back. I then followed up as I hadn't heard and was told she won't call for another 3 weeks. It seems a long time not to speak to anyone about it. Feeling very anxious 😕 x

Lily501 · 21/04/2020 10:03

I'm the same @Jasminex1 - called my doctor and she just told me to book an appointment with someone else, wasn't interested at all...

I've since booked a private appt for this afternoon where I'll hopefully be able to have an early scan too. It seems such a long time to wait in these vulnerable first few weeks, especially as I have a few concerns I wanted to talk through.

I'm 7 weeks today and just couldn't wait anymore!

Jasminex1 · 21/04/2020 10:08

@Lily501 I'm glad you managed to get an appointment, I hope it all goes well! If you don't mind me asking how did you go about getting an appointment elsewhere? I'm only 5 weeks and the thought of waiting nearly a month when I already have so many questions is so daunting!x

lma00015 · 21/04/2020 12:36

Hey ladies,

How are we all?

I had an appointment yesterday at the early pregnancy unit after having some brown spotting on and off last week with minor cramps. I thought I was 7 weeks pregnant yesterday but after having an internal scan where they saw a small sac that was empty. They said it looks very or maybe a possible miscarriage. They took my bloods where my hcg level is sitting at 1,234. I'm due back tomorrow morning for another scan and bloods. I'm feeling anxious about this.

Has anyone experienced anything like this and turned out everything was fine and you where earlier than expected?

BettyS89 · 21/04/2020 12:56

@lma00015 I have had something similar at the weekend just gone. We went for an early scan due to previous miscarriages and we were told the scan was inconclusive. They could see the gestational sac and the yolk sac but no baby and said that it looked earlier than the 6+1 that I thought I was since LMP. We have to go back in 2 weeks for a further scan and I'm absolutely terrified that when we go back there won't have been any development. However, I have googled constantly since and found so many stories of the same situation and they were earlier than they thought and when they go back the baby is then showing so just have to be positive. It's going to be the longest wait ever. Did you have a yolk sac present and could it possible that you ovulated later than you thought?

lma00015 · 21/04/2020 13:24

@BettyS89

Yeah I ovulate late in my cycles, but I can also have irregular cycles to!

The women did say much she's just said it wasn't very clear. She didn't say anything about a yolk sac either, she just said there is a sac there but it's small like it would be in a very early pregnancy. When they phoned last night with my blood results. They asked if I could come back in tomorrow morning which is only 48 hours. Is that not a to happen?

BettyS89 · 21/04/2020 15:01

@lma00015 That's good if you ovulate late as it's likely you are earlier than you think and it's showing as an early pregnancy on the scan. Are they scanning you again today? If your hcg levels have risen today then surely that will be a good sign. I've honestly read so many posts of people in the same situation and all was ok it was just too early to see anything!

Babydust1921 · 21/04/2020 15:15

Hi all, can I join the thread please? I'm 6 weeks today with my 3rd baby :)

lma00015 · 21/04/2020 15:58

@BettyS89

That's reassuring thank you!

I'm not in today it's tomorrow morning I'm back in to see them so hopefully my levels have risen 🤞🏼

AnxiousandImpatient · 21/04/2020 17:51

Looking for some advice... as this is my first pregnancy. I'm currently 5+2 and I have been ridiculously bloated for about 5 days, nothing seems to help. Any ideas how to ease it as I'm struggling to fit into anything other than pjs which isn't ideal when I want to go for a walk
