@Buzz22 @treaclepie19 wow I felt angry reading that. Unbelievable they could be so insensitive!!! Hope you are both ok xx

Treaclepie19 · 26/04/2020 19:18

Thanks everyone ❤
@Buzz22 I'm glad you have supportive people looking after you otherwise. It makes such a difference.

Im having one of those days where you can cry at everything.
My hayfever has caused a tickly cough now and then since the 18th. Its got worse with the high pollen and so today I thought even though we're being careful anyway and not leaving the house apart from click and collects, I'll change it to a delivery and make sure we won't be spreading any germs.
All fine, except now I've realised I can't get my shampoo on our order and its all out of stock at boots online. My head is incredibly sensitive so I'm scared to use any other. Ill just have to try my 4yos and hope for the best.
I can't believe shampoo is what has tipped me over the edge today.

Indigogirl88 · 26/04/2020 19:37

Hi all thought I'd just pop in to say hi, not much to report here apart from bad hips and back this morning. Had a super lazy day and only did a short dog walk as dp couldnt be bothered.

Been looking at aromatherapy oils (theres a lot of controversy around them for pregnant women) for use on my skin and during labour, I've ordered some for my diffuser anyway because I'm thinking some lavender might be a nice relaxant at nights

BntTowers · 26/04/2020 21:36

I think it's supposed to be terrible weather next week so hopefully everyone can have a break from the hayfever with the rain dampening the pollen.

I don't think I'll be doing any more long walks. My stomach and back are horrendously painful now. I'm ok laying and once I get moving, it's just the transition which makes me double over.

Quiffy · 27/04/2020 08:41

@marauder1994 welcome and congrats!

@Treaclepie19 Hope you're feeling better today. I don't blame you for feeling sad over that, it's the little things that really get to us - especially in these times! - and a shampoo that you love and helps your scalp is important

otterbaby · 27/04/2020 08:58

@Indigogirl88 Lush does a 'sleepy' lotion which is lavender scented and is heavenly.

@Quiffy also 17 weeks today! It's mad to think we're nearly at the halfway mark Confused

Indigogirl88 · 27/04/2020 09:06

@Quiffy I know I was just looking at my diary this morning, I'm 17w tomorrow and 3 weeks till scan so it feels like it's going fast. But then what to do after the 20 w scan? Count down till birth I guess Grin

@otterbaby oooh might have to try that!

I've attempted to wake up early this morning and tried to get out with the dog early, wondering if I can keep this up all week. I do feel better tbh getting out and about

Quiffy · 27/04/2020 09:11

@otterbaby Ahh I adore that Lush Sleepy one. The smell is

Treaclepie19 · 27/04/2020 09:56

Thanks @Quiffy I'm just so worn out.
My 4yo has had a cough for over 6 weeks now. The doctor has said to try hayfever medication for him.
Then me and my DH have got a bit of a cough so are self isolating to be safe. I got myself in a tizz earlier working out the time lines and whether I was OK to go to my scan next Monday (I am, but just having a moment)

Need a good sleep I think.

17 weeks is exciting news!! I'll be 17 weeks Wednesday Smile

BntTowers · 27/04/2020 10:08

@Quiffy I think I did overdo it, I've told DH no more 4 mile walks. We are supposed to be going out for one tomorrow because it's his birthday, may just have to be much shorter. I'm feeling a lot better, just aching and tired now.

@otterbaby I like the dream cream one more, it helps me sleep I've just ordered the biggest tub I can get my hands on from Lush. I think they said it's a 2 week delivery delay, but I'm excited to get it.

It does seem a bit weird that you get to 20 weeks and that's about it apart from a few measuring appointments. I suppose at that point you should hopefully be feeling baby and visibly growing every week.

@Indigogirl88 I use lavender oil a lot to help me sleep and feel relaxed. I think I'm going to have to get a bottle of room spray for delivery to take with us.

BooMamaBear · 27/04/2020 11:28

Oh how awful @Treaclepie19 and @Buzz22 - especially when we're hormonal anyway!! I've got my 16w midwife appointment next Monday though I'll be 17+1 I have to go to the GPs to see her!!
Then my consultant appointment is at 19+2 and I think she'll be doing my 20 week scan at the same time! It's good that she was my consultant when I lost my two little boys so she knows my history!
My bump just seems to have got bigger overnight I've starting using bump cream as I didn't get stretch marks with DD and don't want them this time -I feel like I have butterflies every now and then but I'm not sure -I'm 16+1 so I'm sure our babies will start kicking when they're ready!!
Xx

Zaalfruit · 27/04/2020 12:52

Intense hunger today - are two cereal bars and looking for more to munch on. I don’t feel pregnant at all any more - morning sickness has gone - the acid reflux is present. No real bump I am worried however just have to wait till 20 week appointment:(

So awful how some midwifes are treating everyone makes me sad we are part of a vulnerable group anxiety levels are sky high at all times .

Indigogirl88 · 27/04/2020 13:22

I'm the same Zaa anxiety is high but I've reached out to an old friend who is 34 weeks and shes been helping me a lot with feelings etc and another friend of mine is 9w and shes been reaching out to me which is just crazy!

I highly recommend yoga followed by meditation for feeling better, I tried it at the weekend and I'm going to do it again tonight to perk me up again Smile

LexiM · 27/04/2020 14:37

I feel so bad for not doing more walks, I just seem to have stayed inside most days but tried to do stuff. @BntTowers hope you are aching less soon. I’ve been painting the bathroom and when I stop my back is so sore. I just finished for today and I could barely stand up straight. Luckily it seems to go the next day after rest.

I’m with everyone on the lavender, I have a sleep spray and love it so much.

I’m so excited for you all with your scans soon, I’ve still got 5 weeks today to go, suddenly time has gone slow for me. Although I’m seeing the midwife on Wednesday which will be something.

I’m going back to work on Monday next week which I’m looking forward to. I’ve been on furlough but my company has decided our large event later this year is cancelled so there’s work for me to do now informing everyone etc. I don’t have the information to do it from home but happy to go into the office as there’s nobody else there. It will be nice to get out. My husband asked if I was being noisy today on purpose so he wouldn’t miss me next week 😂

I am hoping with less work now I can also use the time before maternity to catch up with 2021 plans at work before I finish. I am also relieved that I won’t be 36 weeks pregnant and working so hard- in previous years I would do 90 hours that week which I would have obviously scaled back this year but would have still been hard work.

HerondaleDucks · 27/04/2020 15:23

Sympathising with all the sore backs. I am feeling it too.

I decided today to plan something fun in all this gloom.
I don't normally agree with americanised over the top things like gender reveals. But in these circumstances I've decided to do one on zoom for my family and friends and to surprise my husband and step daughter, as I will be the only one allowed at the scan.
I decided to do it by using paint and putting my hand prints on a canvas and getting my husband and step daughter to do so as well. The trick is it will be in blue or pink.
It seems like a fun idea and planning it all has kept me occupied this weekend.

It's also my 1st wedding anniversary with my husband today. And whilst we cannot go out anywhere and celebrate, I am grateful for him and our marriage. We had a very tough 2019 in the grand scheme of things.
This baby really is a blessing for our family.

Wishing you all a happy monday!!

Zaalfruit · 27/04/2020 16:18

@Herondaleducks that sounds like a great way to do a gender reveal and sounds like something to look forward to x

I have been at home for 5 weeks wfh and I haven’t walked outside more than 10 mins where I live is so busy and I get scared so I ran back in . I am so bad I can feel the arm and thigh weight creeping in from being lazy and eating snacks.

Treaclepie19 · 27/04/2020 16:32

I'm stressing about not moving about enough too. Mainly sitting about reading and playing with my 4yo.
We were going for walks but isolating now so can't. We go in the garden some days but again I end up just sitting doing stuff.
I'm turning into a sloth.

Spark27 · 27/04/2020 16:40

I'm exactly the same. I swear if it wasnt for the fact I live in a 3 storey house I wouldn't get any exercise! I feel so lazy, but then I'm constantly busy playing with DD and tidying up after her and DH, but it's just all boring stuff. And I feel like I'm constantly planning meals, even though we only ate out a couple of times a month anyway.

If it wasnt for the fact that I cant go out shopping for the naughty food I'm craving, and I cant eat anything without DD wanting half, I'd be getting massive.

If they do open up a McDs drivethru near me next month I will be getting DH to visit it a LOT

Indigogirl88 · 27/04/2020 18:13

Me too @Spark27 I'm seriously craving a McDonald's!! I'm managing to walk the dog but that's about it

On a completely different note I had a look at my local antenatal classes and whilst they're not being run at the minute I emailed them to see if I could put my name down for when they're back running. And I've had a lovely email back saying absolutely they will put my name down, then sent me a link to a Facebook page and sent me loads of information. They've said if the classes dont run they will do a skype/zoom thing. Worth having a go if you ask me, if you dont ask, you dont get! Made me feel a lot more reassured especially being a ftm

LexiM · 27/04/2020 19:45

Happy anniversary @HerondaleDucks!

Ooh I would love a McDonald’s too, I can imagine there’s gonna be queues for it if the drive-through opens next month!

Treacle81 · 27/04/2020 20:30

Hi girls! That’s me started wfh as got mini pc delivered so been busy today! My desk is my dining room table which isn’t the best so my work are sending me an office chair, hopefully be better when that arrives! Sorry to hear about the insensitive mw’s 😒. Oh happy anniversary @HerondaleDucks 🎉🍾 Also 17 weeks today! Would kill for a McDs!! 🍟🍔!! Treated myself to a chinese meal on Sat and it was worth the 3 hr wait!!!xx

HerondaleDucks · 27/04/2020 20:33

Thank you!
@Treacle81 my office chair got delivered last week and it made the world of difference to working at my dining room table.

My intense craving has been crab meat and sweetcorn soup from the chinese. No idea why.

bluemoon2468 · 27/04/2020 21:34

@Herondaleducks that's a sweet idea 😊 we aren't going to be telling anyone else the gender, but I'm planning a mini private gender reveal just for my husband seeing as he won't be in the scan. I've bought balloons and am going to do a treasure hunt round the house 😁

Aquablue1123 · 28/04/2020 05:57

Morning girls :-)

I can't sleep, after ignoring it for so long, I realise I don't know anything about anything to do with having a baby or what I need etc 😬🤣.

I'm conscious I don't want to be sucked in to all the different gadgets you can buy, I just want the essentials.

Do any of the mums on the group have a list of items that they found useful and 'must haves' when caring for a new born from your first pregnancies?

Thanks xxx

Lucylou37 · 28/04/2020 06:38

Hi @Aquablue1123 😂 don't worry I feel exactly the same! Xxx
