@Indigogirl88, haha I thought wow she's really mature for 16! Then I saw your comment on 16 Wk's. 🤣

I've put 2.5kg on up to now, but I'm classed as overweight anyway plus have to be careful as I'm insulin resistance so my doctor doesn't want me to put more than 10kg on to prevent diabetes. I managed to do morning exercise today which was great, first time in 4 months. I hope it continues.

Buzz22 · 22/04/2020 12:51

@esmerelda1988 I had a cervical length scan at around 14 weeks which was ok. I'm going for another one on the 15th of May. Which takes me to about 19 weeks. Feeling the anxiety ramp.
up slightly as I'm now 16 weeks and this is when my eavy bleeding started and my waters broke last time. Sorry your feeling a bit abandoned. I know things must be more complicated due to covid-19 so maybe keep pestering them to keep ontop of your appointments. I cant fault my care so far they have been excellent.

I've certainly put on some weight but no idea how much?! I'm still wearing my usual clothes but feeling more round at the stomach and looking bloated. I'm 5ft10 and naturally keep to a size 8 -10. Not sure if being tall means baby has more space to grown into so wont have such a noticable bump early on or if being slim means the bump will pop sooner?
I'd like to have a bit of reassurance baby is ok in the form of a bump. I had no bump last time due to lack of fluid so it's making me nervous that this one isnt appearing yet either.
Going to take peoples advice and avoid jeans as it will be summer but order some maternity leggings. Am I right in thinking you order your usual size and it allows for the bump? So if I order size 10 leggings there is bump space? Sorry if it's a stupid question but maternity clothes are new to me!

Indigogirl88 · 22/04/2020 12:54

Sounds great @Aquablue1123 ive managed some yoga which I've really enjoyed

@LexiM yeah I was 12-14 pre weight loss, then I lost 2 stone so down to a 10-12 and I've put on 10 pounds taking me up to 14, I'm not too worried, maybe my body is storing a tonne of fat that it lost or something, I will ask my midwife though to see whether I'm 'normal"
Yeah I spent a while looking for bits and ended up getting cheap newlook leggins and a jumpsuit I also got a dress on facebook for £5 to "tide me on" during lock down

BntTowers · 22/04/2020 13:09

@Buzz22 I got some legging from Love Leggings and I got my normal size, there's a great big half circle that will accommodate bump. I did find them.a little large fitting, bit I'm sure that will change as things grow!

Quiffy · 22/04/2020 14:10

@Buzz22 I ordered in my usual size - just off a place on Amazon - they are probably a little bigger than my usual ones (TU or George) and longer as the bump goes up the boob area with plenty of space for bump to grow.

I bought some nice maternity dresses before lockdown and not had a chance to wear any as I just wear older clothes around the house. Might get dressed up and have a garden date at the weekend. Although I'm not sure who I'll enjoy the date with as I'm currently not speaking to the FOB (formally known as DH) since I asked him whether my stomach look even more hairy this morning and he replied "hasnt it always been really hairy?". Total penis behaviour.

I'm not sure if any of you use Fbook, but there's a group called UK Babies Due Around October 2020 that has had SO much info in it. Especially recomendations from other members who have kids. They put a post up to say they're closing the group at 450 members (it's around 430 atm). Thought some of you might like it. I had to send an admin a scan photo with your name and date to prove I was pregnant, which was nice as they're making sure everyone is genunine.

esmerelda1988 · 22/04/2020 14:28

@Buzz22 I thought cervical length was meant to be looked at every 2 weeks or so, maybe I should stop googling! Hope you make it through the next few weeks as worry free as possible, I'm sure it'll be fine. I'm finding the second trimester much worse mentally than the first, probably as most people start to relax worry for us starts up! The care I have had has been very good in all fairness, it just feels quite disjointed and I never seem to see the same person/don't feel like anyone in particular has their eye on me.

Re maternity leggings, I got a size up from usual and they're massive so I think def buy your usual size! The bump bit is fine but they're really long and baggy.. good job I haven't got to look presentable at the moment.

LexiM · 22/04/2020 15:35

Haha sorry @Quiffy I had to laugh, sounds exactly like my husband! I’m like you do know pregnant women are sensitive sometimes and I won’t always tolerate the “joking” things you say. He keeps saying our baby is going to be hairier than the cat with me as it’s Mum - charming 😂

Thanks for the heads up on that group, will have a look. Seeing as I have so much time on my hands. My husband is getting fed up of me sanding, hoovering and generally being noisy while he tries to work. I’m really not good at being quiet anyway!

I only have a maternity top at the moment, I’m not so bothered whilst at home but worried I could be going back to work at some point and would have literally no sensible clothes to wear that fit. So many things online have sold out in my size which is annoying. I see lots of baby clothes are also sold out too.

NWnature · 22/04/2020 18:05

Hey guys, I got some knickers from amazon ‘under bump’ or something a pack of six. They are really good actually!

ChickenDipper28 · 22/04/2020 18:11

Hello everyone! Smile
I'm currently 15+5 weeks with my first! I'm due October 10th.
Excited to meet/talk to more mums going through the same journey 😬x

roarfeckingroar · 22/04/2020 18:17

Hi @ChickenDipper28 and welcome. I'm one day behind you, 15 + 4 and due on the 11th October. It's also my first baby. Where are you based?

roarfeckingroar · 22/04/2020 18:18

Sorry to the PP who asked earlier and all the OGs... the spreadsheet is wildly out of date (it still has my due date as the 30 October on it so 19 days behind Grin). COVID tripled my work load and I forgot to keep it going.

ChickenDipper28 · 22/04/2020 18:31

Hi @roarfeckingroar
Thank you! Congratulations on your first Smile
It’s so lovely to meet somebody else with the same ish birth date!
I’m by Somerset, how about yourself?

HerondaleDucks · 22/04/2020 19:21

This indigestion is beating me down I swear.
But I think... i think i felt the bubbles today. But with all this wind... I can't be 100 percent sure.

NWnature · 22/04/2020 19:50

Hey @ChickenDipper28 snap on due dates!!!! First time mum too. Congrats!!

Glitterbug86 · 22/04/2020 19:50

I'm 16+1 and have gained 5.5lbs. I'm average size 12. Still fitting in my pants but they have got much tighter the past couple of weeks.

The amount you're meant to gain depends on your pre-preg BMI. Funny I was wondering this morn if I had gained a normal amount and found this tool and thought it was very handy! www.calculator.net/pregnancy-weight-gain-calculator.html

I wouldn't worry too much about weight gain though, I figure if we try eat decently most of the time the weight will take care of itself and do what it needs to do! Must say I'm really missing my gym classes though.

Haven't felt any flutters yet - so looking forward to that!

ChickenDipper28 · 22/04/2020 19:53

Hi @NWnature
Yay, snap! Glad to meet somebody with the same due date 😬 Is this your original due date or has it changed since your scans?
Congrats to you too! 💕

Buzz22 · 22/04/2020 20:02

@ChickenDipper28 welcome! My due date is 9th October so pretty much the same!

@esmerelda1988 when I first saw my consultant at 7ish weeks he said he wanted me to have cervical length scans every 2 weeks from around 16 weeks. I requested to have them less frequently as I'm more paranoid about possible infection from so many internal exams or scans. I had chorioamnionitis which was a possible cause of my membrane rupture before. The fetal medicine consultant who did my cervical scan a few weeks ago assured me it's so unlikely even if that was the cause that it would happen again. She wanted me back at nearly 20 weeks as that would give her a better judgement of how things could potentially progress cervix wise. I dont know if they will continue twice weekly or not yet. I guess it depends on the length and if theres been any shortening since I last saw her. Did you say they have asked you back for another cervix scan? I thought maybe they are every 2 weeks from about 20 weeks going from what I've been told?
Antenatal department rung me this afternoon and I'm having my 16 week appointment with the obstetrician over the phone on Friday which is fine by me! No idea if my 16 week midwife next week will be on the phone or face to face yet.

@HerondaleDucks the heartburn is driving me mad! I cant eat even a small meal without it coming on. Downing bottles of gaviscon at the moment!

Thanks all for the leggings tip and advice ladies! I'll be having a browse online this evening

ChickenDipper28 · 22/04/2020 20:05

@Buzz22
Thank you! Congratulations 🥰 Such an exciting (but sometimes scary) journey!

HerondaleDucks · 22/04/2020 21:21

@ChickenDipper28 welcome to the club. I'm the 4th october. How are you feeling?

ChickenDipper28 · 22/04/2020 21:40

Hi @HerondaleDucks
Thank you 🥰 Is this your first too?
I had horrendous morning sickness 24/7 from about 5 weeks, although thankfully I was only sick a handful of times! Feeling much better now, but still get it in the mornings and evenings, although much less.
How are you feeling?

Spark27 · 22/04/2020 21:42

Hi @ChickenDipper28, welcome to the gang. Congrats on the pregnancy

@LexiM I've had a few nights of feeling really uncomfortable and bloated. Like I can feel myself stretching.

@CouscousEvaporator, I meant to reply earlier about the Braxton hicks, but then forgot. I think I might have had some, but I'm not 100%. I've definitely had a few times where my stomach had gone really hard and tight and uncomfortable. And the lump that seems to be the baby has gone really hard and prominent. For those few seconds my stomach gets painful to the touch.

Gas makes it so difficult to know if I'm feeling baby move or not. This time round I thought I'd definitely know what I was feeling, and I'd be feeling things earlier. But I haven't got a clue. Damn pregnancy. Never a worry free moment

ChickenDipper28 · 22/04/2020 21:44

@Spark27 Thank you! I'm glad to be part of the gang 😬 I hope you're all well

BntTowers · 22/04/2020 22:32

I get constant stretching and tugging feeling in my stomach, hopefully that means lots of growing and movement!

I've just scrawled into bed after putting our new memory foam mattress topper on. Of this doesn't help me sleep I'm not sure what will!

Has anyone else seen the news that Chris Whitty has suggested social distancing until at least the end of the year? Makes me slightly worry about being able to get everything for baby.

roarfeckingroar · 22/04/2020 22:45

I'm in London @ChickenDipper28 , great to have an almost due date buddy

roarfeckingroar · 22/04/2020 22:50

My SIL bought me a pregnancy pillow that arrived today and DEAR LORD it is so comfy I cannot wait for bed.
