@harriet

@HarrietM87
Thank you for the response

AnxiousLady1 · 02/04/2020 09:13

@HarrietM87 Good luck with the scan x

SqidgeBum · 02/04/2020 09:18

@Charlottethevet I am 8+5 and for the past 4 days my MS has eased down (on DC 1 it was constant between week 6 and 14). Its still there, but it has definitely eased. Symptoms go up and down, change, some disappear. Some women have completely different pregnancies because each pregnancy and body is different. Try not to worry. Its all very normal.

ACatCalledLola · 02/04/2020 09:41

@Fearne18 I’m afraid I can’t help but I hope your next scan goes well. It’s good news they found a baby and abdominal scans at this stage aren’t clear so fingers crossed it was nothing.
@Charlottethevet I keep having panics about symptoms coming and going. My boobs don’t feel as sore today so of course I’m worried. I feel sick still though. I think there are surges in hormones so we feel better and then worse again.
@HarrietM87 good luck!
And welcome to all the new joiners!

Pink15 · 02/04/2020 10:00

@HarrietM87 ahh exciting good luck with the scan!!

Does anyone know if I book a private scan at 8 weeks is it usually abdominal or trans vaginal? Thanks x

ACatCalledLola · 02/04/2020 10:03

@Pink15 I had a private one with my last pregnancy at 8 weeks and it was abdominal. I think it varies from place to place though.

burntpinky · 02/04/2020 10:05

@Fearne18 not sure if sane as you but on my scan at 7+1 we saw a heartbeat, yolk and sac and then a bulge into the gestational sac. Sonographer not sure what it is and says maybe a bleed. So I’ve been referred to specialist and hopefully seeing them next week. Currently 8+5 and have had no bleeding or pain x

AnxiousLady1 · 02/04/2020 10:11

@Pink15 Window to the Womb recommend transvaginal up to 10 weeks.

wannabebump · 02/04/2020 10:24

@HarrietM87 good luck with your scan today x

FireflyGirl · 02/04/2020 10:54

I had my booking appointment this morning, in person. Had to sit at the other end of the room, apart from when she took my blood. She said that the 16 week appointment will be by telephone, so apart from my scans I won't see anyone again until 28 weeks. Dating scan is booked for 4 weeks today.

On another note, DH and DS had the last of the bread for breakfast. I really wanted a crisp sandwich when I got back, and couldn't, so I sat on the kitchen floor and cried. Stupid CV Sad

Littlebb2020 · 02/04/2020 11:04

Hi is anyone around 10 weeks?
I’m 9 weeks and 4 days today and since 6 weeks had ms and fatigue and aversions you food and smells. It seems to have tapered off a little this week and I’m worried. I threw up yesterday morning but usually I was throwing up 2-3 times a day, feel a bit watery mouthed this morning but not sick I know I sound mad 😂 just thought it was meant to peak at 9-10 weeks?
I also get mild cramps and back ache but I’ve had that since week 6 x

Stephilouise · 02/04/2020 11:24

Hi I am expecting in November also.
Just had a phone call off my midwife this morning and she has told me that I can’t have anyone with me to my midwife appointments or my first scan.
Based in North Wales

I’m completely heartbroken by this 😭

AnxiousLady1 · 02/04/2020 11:29

@Littlebb2020 I've read that MS symptoms can decrease after 9 weeks (ie it peaks at 9 and then starts to decline). But everyone will be different of course, as many don't get any MS at all, while for others it will continue well beyond first trimester.

Pink15 · 02/04/2020 11:36

I ate parma ham yesterday and now read the nhs website and said you should freeze it for 4 days before eating to ensure its safe!! I'm freaking out but I've not got food poisoning so assume it's okay??? 😭

Tonicandgin · 02/04/2020 11:55

@stephilouise our maternity unit is saying the same.

It's my last pregnancy and whilst I'm sad about it, I don't know what I'd do with dc x2. I went for a thyroid blood test this morning and it was so bizarre. Hand sanitiser everywhere and tissues and areas cordoned off plus masks etc. Hardly anyone in because they're only prioritising those places with clinical need.

Providing I can have my husband there at birth I'm not going to dwell on it. My worst worry is if something isn't right and I'm all alone in that situation.

HarrietM87 · 02/04/2020 12:00

Thanks so much for all the good wishes. Just had my scan and all looked good! Baby now almost baby shaped and strong heart. I’m 8+1 according to LMP but was measuring 8+4 today. So relieved!

AnxiousLady1 · 02/04/2020 12:12

@HarrietM87 that's brilliant! And a great example of how MS can fluctuate and not give reason to worry. xx

ACatCalledLola · 02/04/2020 12:12

Fantastic news @HarrietM87!

burntpinky · 02/04/2020 12:31

@Pink15 I wouldn’t worry at all. I doubt pregnant Spanish ladies stop eating it! I had charcuterie just after I found out - I’m more relaxed about eating second around and have runny eggs and everything x

burntpinky · 02/04/2020 12:33

@HarrietM87 fab news!

@ACatCalledLola they have other flavours too which I’ve never had so can’t comment upon but the salted caramel are the best salted caramel ice creams I’ve ever had (bar a gelato I had in Florence and one in St Malo). We nailed a bag of Percy Pugs afterwards too

burntpinky · 02/04/2020 12:35

@FireflyGirl that would’ve made me cry too. I get very upset if I want a certain type of food and someone (usually DH) has eaten it! I honestly often have to hide food in our house as he is a bit greedy. Again, I seem to recall one of our wedding vows was that he couldn’t promise not to eat everything!

Pink15 · 02/04/2020 13:14

@burntpinky thankyou for reassuring me. I'm just so anxious with being pregnant at this time already as it is and I just can't believe I was so stupid to make the mistake!!

FireflyGirl · 02/04/2020 13:20

@burntpinky I wouldn't be bothered usually as I'd just send him out for some more, but we've decided we're not going out unless it's absolutely necessary. I've managed (don't ask me how!!) to get delivery slots for the shopping every Saturday. So I only have to wait 2 days.

I've just had Supernoodles for my lunch. Found them in the cupboard, bbe 2017 Blush

SqidgeBum · 02/04/2020 13:35

Honestly @Pink15, my midwife told me I can eat runny eggs and deli meats, and just to stay away from live cheeses. However, I ate brie on my last pregnancy. I just made sure it was well melted. Women ate everything for a long time before the mass influx of every scary piece of 'advice' when pregnant. Most foods now are safe once they are mass produced and from a reliable source. Our bodies and our babies are sturdier than you think.

burntpinky · 02/04/2020 13:41

@FireflyGirl yeah it’s odd now isn’t it that peeps can’t just “pop” to the shop. Really makes me appreciate “normal” life. I get scared of running out of treats (as they do cheer me up) but then when we have treats we eat them all too quickly!!!
