@SqidgeBum thankyou so much that's helped a lot ThanksHalo

NoseringGirl · 02/04/2020 13:53

I think runny eggs are officially 'allowed' now anyway as long as they're lion stamped! I craved them all the way through my first pregnancy but didn't have them because it was on the NHS list of foods to avoid back then. By my second pregnancy it was fine to have them but I had an egg aversion. I was raging 😂
To be honest, advice varies across countries and does seem to change. I just try to apply common sense and moderation. I really fancied some Brie the other day so I had it and made sure it was well cooked. It made me very happy!

ParisInTheSpringtime · 02/04/2020 13:59

I’m eating most things to be honest. My husband tried to tell me I wasn’t allowed Stilton a few days ago and soon regretted it 😂 I think the risk is very low. I’d eat runny eggs every day if I could get hold of any 😭

I’m awaiting delivery of a new pair of trainers currently. I left my running trainers at the office before we were locked down, and if I don’t do some running I’ll be the size of a house soon.

SMcG1 · 02/04/2020 14:20

@Littlebb2020 I’m also 9+4 today and had no morning sickness all of last week after having it from about 5 weeks. It started again at the start of this week but seems to have gone away again today. I’m also getting some mild cramping at times.

ACatCalledLola · 02/04/2020 14:27

I had runny eggs yesterday. They changed the advice a few years ago and lion stamped ones are fine. With most cheeses the risks are minimal in this country. At least we’re going to be able to eat all the cheeses again by Christmas!
I’ve got my booking in appointment tomorrow. I have to go in early for weight, height and bloods and then the midwife will do the rest of my appointment over the phone.

Sakura54 · 02/04/2020 14:35

@Littlebb2020 I’m nearly 10 weeks too and I, for one, am pleased that the MS has lessened. I still retch many times a day though. I think it’s because my appetite is low this week (and I’ve lost my sense of smell/taste) and I was mainly nauseous when hungry (which resulted in desperate snacking which is something I never do).

What’s bad is the tiredness though. I’ve practically been on bedrest and am in danger of shrivelling away and becoming a part of my bed lol! My poor DH is singlehandedly looking after DS and making sure his DW is getting fed. Luckily he is getting furlough pay, as they can’t WFH.

A positive thing about low appetite is....no more bloating or snacking, therefore no belly, tightness or aches/pains :)

Expecting better by Emily ostler has a good section explaining the whys of banned foods. I avoid red or uncured meat (toxoplasmosis risk), soft or unpasturised cheese (listeria risk). I would probably eat red meat, to be honest, but I prefer making my husband do the cat's litter tray (that's also a toxoplasmosis risk). Eggs with the lion mark are fine because they've been vaccinated against salmonella.

TangBloodyFastic · 02/04/2020 15:52

I didn't even know about runny eggs. My food aversions at the minute are stopping me from eating everything I used to love but I have my own chickens, which have been vaccinated against things like salmonella, I assume I would be able to eat their eggs with dippy yolks??? Well that is when I am back eating them again Sad

TangBloodyFastic · 02/04/2020 15:53

Do I need to draw a little lion on them before I eat them? Grin

NoseringGirl · 02/04/2020 16:15

Yes @TangBloodyFastic yes you do need to draw that on or it just doesn't count Grin

ParisInTheSpringtime · 02/04/2020 16:40

@TangBloodyFastic and then you need to post your drawing of a lion on here 😆

Sakura54 · 02/04/2020 16:53

@TangBloodyFastic now you have no choice, but to draw on your egg and show us!

It's a traditional Easter activity! Grin

Hancock2020 · 02/04/2020 17:58

Just a bit of clarity, do we have to isolate for 12weeks because we are pregnant or is it if you are pregnant AND have underlying health issues?

HarrietM87 · 02/04/2020 18:13

@Hancock2020 it’s only if you’re pregnant and have underlying issues that the strict 12 weeks applies. (It applies to me as I’m on immune-suppressants and would regardless of pregnancy). I think pregnant women have been told to be extra cautious with social distancing etc.

Tbh though, no one knows the impact that it might have on pregnancies early on, and fever generally can be dangerous in the first trimester, so it doesn’t hurt to be over cautious.

Pink15 · 02/04/2020 18:27

My GP is gonna do a toxoplasmosis blood test to be sure Cos of the palma ham 😅

Hancock2020 · 02/04/2020 18:59

I think I'm just going a bit nuts, locked up for 2 weeks now, in the bedroom, on the bed, all day every day

Fouryearslater · 02/04/2020 20:50

Whoever invented the term “morning sickness” needs to have a good, hard look at themselves.

🤢🤢🤢

I’m rapidly remembering why I said never again last time. It went well into the 2nd trimester too 😭

ACatCalledLola · 02/04/2020 20:54

Mine too @Fouryearslater. It’s all day, all night sickness. There’s no escape. It lasted for 18-20 weeks with my other two so no idea how to survive another 10 weeks of this. I need this pregnancy to work out because I know I can’t do it again.

Fouryearslater · 02/04/2020 21:14

@ACatCalledLola I was hoping it would miraculously be a less shitty pregnancy. I shan’t hold my breath for a trouble free birth either 🙄

mrsAndeke · 02/04/2020 21:17

So I've been having really bad nausea, and I go some nausea bands from amazon, my first day using them and no nausea all afternoon and evening x

SqidgeBum · 02/04/2020 21:41

@ACatCalledLola I have been sucking on hard boiled sweets and that has been helping my nausea. I also used anti sickness bands during my last pregnancy and that helped a little.

ACatCalledLola · 02/04/2020 21:48

Sweets are a good idea. Thanks. I’ll stock up tomorrow. Might order some sickness bands too. I can’t go on feeling this bad because I’m neglecting my children!

Snowwhite2020 · 02/04/2020 21:52

Bad nausea here too guys. Just ordered anti sickness bands in a desperate attempt that might help... 🙈 xx

Pink15 · 02/04/2020 22:42

I got my nausea bands for 1.99£ off eBay (not bidding) including postage and cane in like 3 days! eBay seems cheaper than amazon.. xx
