@Hancock2020 I’ve been exactly the same. I hear ya girl xx

somegoodnewsforonce · 01/04/2020 19:55

Urgh I feel so sick just now. I'm 6 weeks, this is when it started with DS. Went on until about 12 weeks. I'm also really tired 😴

Hancock2020 · 01/04/2020 20:40

@Snowwhite2020 I have found the answer! As soon as I started eating this I felt better! It's a food miracle!

@ACatCalledLola have you tried the salted caramel and macadamia nut Nuii ice creams (on offer in Waitrose) OMG is all I can say. DH bought 12 today. They are amazing (also do other flavours).

@SqidgeBum sorry you’re not able to face food. I am like that with chicken and also can’t watch food programmes (which is annoying as we love them) but seem to be ok with most other things. Also can’t stand coffee and barely tolerate tea

MissSparkles81 · 01/04/2020 20:56

Hiya all thanks for starting the new thread.

Ive been off mumsnet for a few days as anxiety is getting to me again. Currently 6+4 and the nausea has really kicked in big style. Thankfully not been sick yet but the nausea is there literally all day 🙄 It eases up when I eat but then comes right back.

I booked in for a private scan last night at window to the womb as I just cant wait for my 12 week one. I had a mc at 8 weeks in November and this scan will be at 8+6. Thankfully my bf will be able to come with me as if things stay the way they are I will be going on my own in May.

Quietly reading and catching up with everyone just not in a good headspace to actively chat 💞

MissSparkles81 · 01/04/2020 20:57

Oh and I am randomly not sleeping great either. Routinely waking up at 4am and cant get back to sleep. Driving me potty and making the already long days at home even longer 😴😴😴

ACatCalledLola · 01/04/2020 21:00

@burntpinky handily either Dh or I need to go to Waitrose tomorrow to get a few bits. Those might just fall into my basket. The thought of them is making me so hungry!

Fearne18 · 01/04/2020 21:04

Hi everyone. Your stories do help me feel less anxious.
I had a scan on Saturday (7weeks+ 6) and initially they told me that there was no heartbeat but then they did a transvaginal scan and found another sac with a heartbeat. Such an emotional rollercoaster.
I’m going for another scan next week to have another look as they aren’t sure what the other “thing” is. Maybe a twin/ blood clot/ placenta.
Has anyone experienced any thing like this?
I’m just so glad that there is the one healthy bean and heartbeat.

BabyKnighty1 · 01/04/2020 21:24

I’m 8 weeks today and have a scan booked. DH is not allowed to come but that’s ok. Hoping for good news. Is there anything I should ask?

Pink15 · 01/04/2020 21:31

Anyone else watch The Mummy Diaries on itvbe? Or just me that watches that kinda trash? 😂

MummytoMatildaX · 01/04/2020 21:36

@somegoodnewsforonce @NS34 I am in Scotland, and have been advised that they will be in touch to arrange a booking appointment which will be carried out over the phone, they will only visit to do blood tests and blood pressure. We are in Lanarkshire if this helps x

wannabebump · 01/04/2020 21:55

Just marking my place for when thread 2 is full Smile

Snowwhite2020 · 01/04/2020 21:59

@Hancock2020 I will definitely give that a go! I read ice cream/ ice lollies were good. Have a feeling I might have to try a few things... 🤦🏻‍♀️ Xx

BeMorePacific · 01/04/2020 22:26

@Hancock2020 I just had a bowl of Strawberry Carte d’or ice cream, and it gave me the worst heartburn. I didn’t have any heartburn in my 1st pregnancy and I never normally have it. My husband is delighted that I won’t be eating any ice cream now and he will get it all! xx

BeMorePacific · 01/04/2020 22:27

@MummytoMatildaX hey, I’m Scotland too. My midwife called today and said my app is still on and I’m to go into the hospital. Kinda wish it was over the phone x

PopcornCharlie · 02/04/2020 07:02

Hi everyone! Joining the thread, I’m 6+5 with my first pregnancy. Lovely to read other people in the same position, I’m bursting to tell my friends (And talk about it with my mum friends) but waiting til the 12 week scan.

Absolutely no symptoms yet, to the point I keep forgetting I’m pregnant. I’m hoping some will kick in soon- at the moment it just doesn’t feel real!

Tonicandgin · 02/04/2020 07:08

I was furloughed yesterday Sad I fully expected it and tbh it's been a nightmare. 2x dcs at home (6 & 4) and dh and I trying to work from home plus home schooling and being pregnant. Plus shopping and checking in on parents who are shielding. Dh has done all the shopping but I feel like I don't even know what my pregnancy symptoms have been because I haven't had time.

Anyway, I only work 3 days so I'm hoping a few weeks off would give me time to get through the hardest bit of pregnancy imo (1st trimester).

Ps-for anyone in the same position. I'm an HR Manager and legal experts confirmed to me yesterday that furlough @ 80% of salary shouldn't impact on 'average earnings' for mat pay purposes. Full legislation out in 2 weeks but that's the legal view at this point.

PopcornCharlie · 02/04/2020 07:15

@Tonicandgin so sorry to hear that, it’s such a difficult time. Hope the time off to rest if you’re feeling tired/sick is at least a bit of an upside.

Thank you for the info on average earnings - really helpful x

BeMorePacific · 02/04/2020 07:31

Has anyone had good news when a pregnancy test has got lighter? I had a little fright 2 weeks ago over my pregnancy and called EPU. My symptoms had reduced and my test had lightened. They asked me to wait 2 weeks and test again. I tested this morning and it isn’t any darker. I’m so shocked because my symptoms have really ramped up over the past 2 weeks. I didn’t drink particularly lots yesterday, so I don’t think hydration levels are a reason. I’m going to call EPU but just wanted some reassurance if anyone has any to give xx

BeMorePacific · 02/04/2020 07:31

I should have added, I am 9 weeks pregnant x

FireflyGirl · 02/04/2020 07:48

What type of test are you using, @BeMorePacific? Is it one you've used before and had a darker result? If not, it could just be that the dye doesn't go as dark on those tests.

Another explanation could be 'the hook effect'. Full details here, but essentially you can have so much hormone in your system, it floods the test and gives false readings.

burntpinky · 02/04/2020 08:19

@BeMorePacific - I read (on here which i googled) that when HCG gets past a certain point it is too strong for the tests and they get it confused hence the lighter tests. No idea if true but there is a lot about it on the net x

Charlottethevet · 02/04/2020 08:25

Hi all - Just wondering, has anyone here experienced a sudden vanishing of morning sickness?! I've hit 8+6 and all of a sudden... It's gone! I thought weeks 8-10 were supposed to be the worst of all for NVP/ morning sickness... Starting to get a little worried. Boobs still really sore, still tired and bloated, no bleeding.

BeMorePacific · 02/04/2020 08:35

@burntpinky and @FireflyGirl thanks so much for your responses. I’ll have a read about the Hook effect. I’ve spoken to EPU and I’m just waiting for my midwife to call me back. Hopefully I’m worrying over nothing xx

HarrietM87 · 02/04/2020 08:53

@Charlottethevet my morning sickness (aka evening sickness) was kind of gone on Monday and Tuesday, came back a bit yesterday but not as bad. I have a scan today at 8+1 and after several losses I’m terrified. Everything I’ve read though says that it’s totally normal for symptoms to come and go.
