Hi all,

I'm jumping the gun a little with this as I'm pregnant and found out earlier than a missed period (it's 3 days away)

I had a miscarriage at the start of February so I'm terrified, but trying to be optimistic all will be okay. My lines are getting darker, which they didn't do last time.

Anyone else due in December?

Please can I join! Found out yesterday I'm pregnant. Had a miscarriage this time last year so I'm so anxious. Also such a worrying time to be pregnant. I'm a bag of nerves Confused xx

Clemmie83 · 29/03/2020 08:07

@Trufflepigglet Congratulations! I'm in a similar situation, got my BFP after 15 months of trying and we were waiting on our referral to the fertility clinic! How are you feeling?

Trufflepigglet · 29/03/2020 08:17

@Clemmie83 i'm a mixed bag of insane nerves and super excitement! We'd been tested for all the usual things and my partner has quite a low sperm count, there we're mentions of IVF by the Dr so i'm so happy we managed it naturally but also terrified of miscarrying because it would probably mean we will have to go down the IVF route to catch again.

Plus theres the crazy time we're living in now!

How are you feeling?

Clemmie83 · 29/03/2020 08:22

@Trufflepigglet I know exactly how you feel, so excited yet terrified of anything going wrong!! Had convinced myself that it just wasn't going to happen naturally even though our tests were all fine, we just seemed to be unlucky. It completely took me by surprise, I'd already spent ages reading up on IVF! I think it's made me a lot more nervous, every twinge and I'm fearing the worst...

Trufflepigglet · 29/03/2020 08:29

@Clemmie83 same! My only symptom except missed af is my boobs are tingly and sore and theyre slightly less so this morning and its causing my panic but I took a second test and its fine so I need to chill out! Stress will not do us any good!

Being forced to stay home may not be a terrible thing at the moment. Enjoying my little safe bubble!

Homaru · 29/03/2020 08:43

Hi! I was about 5 days late & usually clockwork but have been desperate to get pregnant so I did 2 tests yesterday & I’m about 5-6 weeks pregnant! I think will be due end of nov/dec 🎉 so far just had really sore boobs which I dismissed initially & put down to being due on!
I’m so desperate to tell just my parents but my partner says no we should wait until we’ve had some kind of appointment. I feel really anxious about being pregnant through a bloody pandemic though! 😳 I just want to be able to talk to my parents! Anyone else nervous about this? (It’s my first as well)

Emerald89 · 29/03/2020 09:34

@Homaru yeah I’m nervous about this. Really want to tell our parents as we all need some good news right now but it’s just soo early. I’m also an NHS worker - currently off sick as I had to stop my regular medication when I got pregnant. I was planning to have 1-2 weeks off so I could get used to being off meds and then go back with adjustments. Now with Coronavirus kicking off I’m quite scared at the prospect of going into a hospital, even if I don’t see patients and just do office based work. There’s evidence from other countries that the hospital itself becomes a focus for infection and I just really don’t want to get sick right now. I’d love to talk to my mum about it but i know she will be worried sick about me if she knows I’m pregnant, she’s already worried about me working in a hospital!

Whiffle77 · 29/03/2020 09:44

Hi @aitch07 and welcome - there are a few of us in here that have had MC so you will definitely find someone feeling the same as you, dont worry Smile it is a strange time to be pregnant, but I'm lucky in that I can WFH and hide away the whole time at the min. Things have awhile to die down for us all as well. Good luck!

Homaru · 29/03/2020 09:54

Oh I really feel for you, can’t imagine being faced with working in a hospital right now, just have to do whatever feels right for you I guess. I work in an emergency call centre and last week have taken over responsibilities from a colleague who’s working from home as she’s pregnant in 2nd trimester! Now I’ve found out I am too (albeit much further behind) but just hard to know what to do. Trying not to stress about it is making me more stressed too! How far along are you?

Beccarans89 · 29/03/2020 10:08

It is such a difficult decision whether to tell people so early but I decided to tell my mum last weekend when we found out (I was 4+1 at the time) as I just needed to chat to her about it and ask for advice about work as I was so anxious to tell work but didn't want to risk anything by working! I'm glad I told her as it's been helpful to chat, and just figured if anything happened I'd tell her anyway! I ended up telling my boss, I was so nervous and explained I never ever would normally apart from in this situation and they sent me straight home and I don't have to go in so it may be worth speaking to your work if you're worried! I know my manager has kept it confidential. Hope you're all ok today xx

Beccarans89 · 29/03/2020 10:11

@tesaacoin1 @marlibs3 thank god I'm not the only one googling clothes and nursery furniture and then feeling ridiculous as it's so early 😄 hard not to with all this time on our hands!

lionsmum · 29/03/2020 10:13

Telling people is such a personal decision, with our last pregnancy we told our family quite quickly because it was Christmas and I couldn't hide the not drinking lol. I think with the current climate ect it would help having the support from your parents if you feel you need it. We're having a private scan at 7+4 and then if that goes well we're going to tell our families again, but as I said before it's such a personal decision.

Also congrats everyone who has joined🤗

aitch07 · 29/03/2020 10:19

@Whiffle77 thank you Smile Really does help hearing from others. Great you can WFH! Me too. Doing this without a partner so appreciate you replying. Stay safe! x

Homaru · 29/03/2020 11:26

That’s made me feel much better @Beccarans89 thanks, my mum works at same place as me too so I just feel like she can help me feel safer there or help me figure out whether to say anything!

Beccarans89 · 29/03/2020 11:49

@homaru it's definitely a very personal decision and totally up to you so just do what feels best! I ended up telling her as it's just been helpful to chat if I've felt anxious and ask for advice etc but don't worry about what you think should be done, just see how you feel xx

littletandme · 29/03/2020 12:51

Hi ladies, can I join? BFP this morning although AF is/wasn't due until Wednesday so still early days. Would be due 9th December!

Thinking of booking an early scan for Easter Sunday then telling our family. We have a little girl who is 3 in August so a nice age gap I think.

ChampooPapi · 29/03/2020 13:49

Hey @Emerald89 , and big congratulations on your pregnancy lovely. Very interesting reading through what you were saying about hospitals being a kind of hot bed for infection. I am concerned about the early scan places as well to be honest, in relation to this. What if the nurses there are also working on hospitals or are caring for elderly relatives, or have a child or partner at home who is isolating due to having symptoms?.

I'm not trying to freak anyone out.as I also totally want an early scan to confirm that there's something there after my missed miscarriage at my 12 week scan last time.

But I actually don't know if those places are safe. I wonder that they may all be closed in a week or so even if they are still taking bookings. I know it's a personal choice, but i just am very worried about going anywhere really currently, risking exposure. Especially as you are not meant to travel anywhere, people are being stopped at Devon's border so I just feel like we need to keep our heads and prioritise wellbeing.

For some I know that means seeing the baby on a scan, I can totally relate to that, but let's just keep well updated on here on the advise.

Peaches2020 · 29/03/2020 14:48

Please can I also join you ladies?

I’m 38 and after my third test on Sat finally believed the BFP was accurate! Due on 30th Nov according to the app. Have found it so reassuring reading this thread as my head has been spinning with so many questions not least with the corona backdrop and with no one I feel I can share news with yet (other than my husband) until I found this! Thank you for sharing so much, feeling much more reassured now. Also contemplating the early scan but may just wait until the 12 week one depending on the risk levels, will monitor advice too. Tough decision! X

Ldawg · 29/03/2020 18:47

Hi everyone! I got my BFP today and according to app am due 7th December. I had a miscarriage in November and was a follower of all the miscarriage groups (although very rarely a poster) so I recognise some of you from there. Congratulations to all!! I'm also an NHS worker and am absolutely terrified, especially having gone through miscarriage so recently. My boss was fully aware of my situation and I've just emailed for advice as to what to do next week. I'm not due in until Tuesday. I have a horrible feeling I'm going to have to go in because we're so short staffed at the moment 😔 Scary times!!

Trufflepigglet · 29/03/2020 19:05

Anyone feeling sick yet? I've known i'm pregnant less than 48 hours, approx 4w+5d and i've just done an almighty vom and currently laid on the bed feeling rotten. I'd hoped I had a few weeks yet until I felt like this!

finallydec2020 · 29/03/2020 19:18

I'm 4 weeks and 3 days and have been feeling sick the last couple days, sore boobs, cramps, and crying 24/7. Oh the joys 😂

Emerald89 · 29/03/2020 19:56

@Ldawg the Royal Colleges of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists and the Royal College of Midwifery published guidelines last Thursday, basically women of any gestation can choose not to be patient facing. If they can’t find you alternative work to do that manages the risk they should send you home on full pay.

Emerald89 · 29/03/2020 20:10

@Homaru I’m only 4+2. I’ve told my boss already as going to entail a lot of changes at work. Want to wait a wee while before I tell my mum although I think she got suspicious last night when I was drinking tea instead of wine on video chat!

ChampooPapi · 29/03/2020 21:17

Hey @Ldawg congratulations , that's fantastic news ♥️🌈

Ldawg · 29/03/2020 22:10

Thank you @champoo!

And thanks @emerald. Useful to know. My boss has said not to worry about anything, she'll talk to occ health tomorrow and we'll sort something out. Got the impression I'll go behind the scenes. Which is good but I don't even want to be in the hospital tbh. That said, I am grateful to still have a job in the current climate!!
