Hi all,

I'm jumping the gun a little with this as I'm pregnant and found out earlier than a missed period (it's 3 days away)

I had a miscarriage at the start of February so I'm terrified, but trying to be optimistic all will be okay. My lines are getting darker, which they didn't do last time.

Anyone else due in December?

@LuLaLaLa the bloat is 100% real. Plus I’m still getting the ache I would get for my period so I’m nervous every time I wee! My constant thirst is sorting out the drinking water problem as I’m going through pints of the stuff but for some reason now I’m obsessed with it having ice 😂
Also resorted to a hot water bottle on my lower back as I’m aching! Really want some more signs other than seriously sore nipples!

Beccarans89 · 10/04/2020 19:58

@LuLaLaLa I'm glad to hear it subsided, that's what I've read too, people getting it early on and then it going. I look like I have a bowling ball up my top, I'm so round lol! It's really sore but hopefully it settles. Will be sending hubby out tomorrow to get some Peppermint tea!

AnnieCa34 · 10/04/2020 20:02

@Bassbeh17 I can’t believe they won’t furlough you, although I know Most of my last families wouldn’t. Only been with these 8 months but they are the best family I have worked for. I hope they are ok when I tell
them I am pregnant. No idea when I am going back yet though! How far along are you? I totally get the tiredness its horrible being at work and that tired. Hope things start to improve.

AnnieCa34 · 10/04/2020 20:13

I feel everyone with the cramps I keep getting them badly. I’m suffering from I don’t even know what maybe it’s bloating but my tummy feels weird and then I also feel sick and don’t want to eat but that’s the only thing that helps! Gonna have to start having biscuits next to the bed as it’s bad overnight. My finance woke me last night at 1am to tell me he couldn’t sleep! I then spent half hour over toilet feeling sick! Think I would have slept through otherwise! I was not happy! But hating this nausea and bloating and gas! Oh and the hormones making me cry for no reason! I feel happy to be pregnant but can’t say I am enjoying the symptoms right now! Sorry for my Moan! Evening are def worse for me!
So sorry for the ones going through miscarriage scares. It’s so horrible, thinking of you.

CooperLooper · 10/04/2020 20:20

Hey everyone :) currently at home resting after surgery yesterday. It was to repair two broken ankle bones (broke it Weds last week, found it I was pregnant on Monday). So happy to be pregnant but Jesus Christ my timing couldn't be any worse if I tried. It's been an intense experience, had to have surgery awake with just an epidural as they wouldn't sedate a pregnant woman, and I'm on just basic paracetamol for pain relief and it's agony. So the whole experience has been terrifying and just mentally / physically draining.

I haven't contacted my GP or midwife yet - I wanted to wait until surgery was out of the way in case it doesn't stick 😔 obsessively knicker checking every hour and I'm going to do another test in the morning to make sure I'm still pregnant.

If I go off last period I'm 5+2, but I'm a late ovulator so I know I'm likely only 4wks exactly. Probably due 18th Dec.

Just keeping my fingers crossed all this surgery and medication hasn't messed anything up for us this time.

Also - if I could be resent the FB invite please @littletandme as it still hasn't come through... or let me know if I should be looking in a particular place on FB? No notifications or anything have come through.

Bassbeh17 · 10/04/2020 21:03

@CooperLooper I have worked out my due date to Dec 18th as well!! Although this is also just my calculations from last period.

I hope your ankles heal fast it sounds like agony!

@AnnieCa34 I would have been so angry if I’d been woken up to be told that!!! I’m currently asleep by 10 and awake at about 7am 🤷🏻‍♀️ And yes working through is exhausting right now but actually it’s taking my mind off of things. Plus I was sooooo close to telling them I quit because they were being so uncaring and then I found out. I don’t know why I just had this feeling to take a test a whole 5 days early! I wasn’t symptom spotting or anything and there is was it came up straight away so bold!! Clearly didn’t want me to give away my maternity rights!

Hi everyone,

I’m due 9 December 2020, currently 5 weeks 2 days.

What is everyones symptoms? I’m currently getting persistent cramp/ stitch like feeling mainly when I am lying down and not being active. My nipples are slightly tender to touch and some lower back pain.

Anyone else on the same boat symptom wise?

I have no other symptoms apart from the ones above and the cramps are starting to worry me they have been going on for around a week but no bleeding so fingers crossed this is normal and all is well. (My first pregnancy)

Congratulations everyone.

I’m also anxious to tell my mum. My partner and me are the only people who know (we have a house together, a dog, are engaged, both working full time) but I am only 22 and not sure if it is too early to tell my mum but we are really close. Any suggestions?

Congratulations ladies

lionsmum · 10/04/2020 22:03

@annalouise1997 welcome! with regards to symptoms it's totally normal for them to come and go, so try not to worry about that. With our first I had literally just turned 23, I wouldn't worry about your age and telling your mum, it's nice to have the support even from early on. I always took the view that I'd tell her even if the pregnancy didn't progress, so might as well get joy out of it where possibleSmile I know everyone's view on this is different but that's my take. And congrats!

AnnieCa34 · 10/04/2020 22:12

@CooperLooper I hope your ankles heals soon! Sounds awful!
@Bassbeh17 good job you tested early before you left or anything! Yeh I’m glad I’m not working but equally think keeping busy would make the time go quicker, although with all the kids and parents home be long days! Im going to bed between 10 and 10:30 but always wake around 3:30 for a wee and then seem to wake constantly until I get up about 7. Don’t have work but have 2 dogs that need taking out!
@annalouise1997 my symptoms were similar lots of cramps that improve as I move around. Still the case but am getting less now am 6+3. Do now have sore boobs which has only been in the last few days and nausea gradually getting worse. But cramp wise that’s normal or was for me!
Telling people I have told my best friend and that’s it. I want to wait and tell my mum when I have my early scan. I do kind of wish I told her earlier but may as well wait now as my scan is in a week!

annalouise1997 · 10/04/2020 22:37

Thanks for getting back!
Glad the symptoms are normal as I’ve seen on this thread a lot of other women have had cramps and obviously me over googling things I’m scaring myself haha. I will be turning 23 on the 22nd December and I’m due on the 9th, nice to know I’m not aloneSmile. I would love to tell my mum as soon as possible just need to find the right time with all going on at the moment and I feel like the words just won’t come out lol
Congrats @lionsmum x

annalouise1997 · 10/04/2020 22:43

@AnnieCa34 Put my mind at ease to hear on this forum that this is so common. As it doesn’t appear to be the main symptom of early pregnancy on google and it’s my main symptom kind of worrying haha. When did you start feeling nausea? I don’t feel pregnant but I don’t two tests changed to a dark positive straight away (one clear blue) and I’m now 10 days late. I’m stuck between telling my mum now and waiting until my first scan in case something goes wrong touch wood.

Congratulations on your pregnancy btw x

annalouise1997 · 10/04/2020 22:52

@CooperLooper I found out I was pregnant on Monday also and I’m currently 5+2 what a coincidence. Congratulations x

MariaDingbat · 10/04/2020 23:06

Hi everyone, hope all's well. I'm 5+5 today and I'm wondering when everyone is getting their first scans?

AnnieCa34 · 10/04/2020 23:19

@annalouise1997 I had cramps so bad for the first couple weeks I was constantly convinced I was getting my period! It went on for hours at a time then would ease and then start again! Even now I have bad days of it and good days! The nausea started prob around a week ago. But it’s getting worse everyday. I feel better when I eat but can’t eat very much it just feels horrible! I have massive aversion to eggs and mushrooms too! But craving cheese, marmite and cucumber! Weird! Not together! Lol. Haven’t been sick yet but night seems to be the worst time. Laying awake right now feeling sick.
@MariaDingbat as I am paranoid and anxious I have booked a Private scan for next Saturday. I will be 7+4. No idea when my 12 weeks one is and didn’t want to wait! Plus fiancé won’t be allowed in for 12 weeks one probably but the Private one can have one person.

MrsHughesCarrick · 11/04/2020 00:38

Hi, sorry I'm late to the club but can I join too please? I'm pregnant with my first due due around 2nd december. We literally found out 5 days before our first IVF consultation so was a bit of a surprise. I'm over the moon about being pregnant but at the same time so anxious with everything thats going on, wpils be great to be able to chat with others in the same boat x

CooperLooper · 11/04/2020 06:46

@MrsHughesCarrick wow what a surprise for you, congrats! Isn't life funny how it works sometimes!

I'm another one for constant cramps too, proper period like cramps. The only other symptom so far is a fairly regular metallic taste in my mouth.

Took another test this morning after the surgery etc and thank god I'm still pregnant 😅 I'll try and chill out a bit now.

Mrsirvine · 11/04/2020 06:53

@CooperLooper how dark is your test?! 😱 xx

MrsHughesCarrick · 11/04/2020 07:11

I'm 6+3 and I was getting cramps around week 5, they seemed to have calmed down a bit at the moment. The rest of the symptoms didnt really start until the middle of week 5 (about 5+3 so a week now) The other symptoms I've got are constantly feeling sick (weirdly irn-bru helps) , the odd lightheaded moment, bloating, slight back ache, really tender boobs, bring a tad moody, and just being generally wiped out, I've never slept to much! I was worried about my cramps and mentioned it to the midwife and she said its normal to feel all weird and wonderful types of aches and pains whilst things are changing, but to just let them know if I'm worrying x

CooperLooper · 11/04/2020 07:39

@Mrsirvine I'm around 16DPO today and I think I implanted early so that's probably why 😊 it's reassuring to see it that dark though x

CooperLooper · 11/04/2020 07:40

@MrsHughesCarrick good tip about Irn Bru, I've heard fizzy pop helps quite a lot from other people!

littletandme · 11/04/2020 07:49

Hi and congratulations to everyone who has just joined the thread!

We are keeping track of due dates over on a private Facebook group if anyone would like to join? Just send me a message via the web version of Mumsnet with your fb email address and I can invite you Smile

It's a totally private hidden group so no family or friends can see you've joined.

Hakunamatata9 · 11/04/2020 07:57

@MrsHughesCarrick
I always found orange tango was my go to in my last pregnancy!
I’m 6 weeks today going from last period but never really know when I ovulate or how many days my cycle is so no idea, not had many symptoms yet! Think they came around 8 weeks last time, I’ve got the ginger tea and ginger biscuits ready!

Hey to all the newbies!

Also saw the post about people being weird about others getting pregnant now. I was a bit freaked out when I realised I was pregnant and I’ve still not plucked up the courage to tell my mum! She’s lovely but such a worry box so I’m worried she’ll worry (I take after her haha) and I don’t want her to say it’s bad timing. You can never really time a baby though can you! My brother asked if I was going to be part of the corona baby boom on the phone the other day, nearly spat my tea out 😂 I said ‘ha, nah! .. well.. you never know!”

Bassbeh17 · 11/04/2020 08:04

@littletandme I have just sent you a message for the fb group ☺️
So I am 100% still getting cramps which is really annoying! I would love some other sign 😂 but I am only 4+1
I am sleeping from like 10 at night then waking twice for a wee and then waking at 7am. My dreams are SO vivid like this morning I woke myself up laughing in my sleep!!!!
I’m also very constipated sorry for tmi but I never suffer from that!
I hope all of our cramps ease off soon so that we can enjoy this ☺️

TimeWaitsForNoWoman · 11/04/2020 09:17

Hi guys! Please may I join? I'm 4+2 with my second baby, my first will be 23 months when this little baby arrives. I'm a bit nervous as I've had a miscarriage at ten weeks before, so am so so pleased to find a community to chat to!
