Hi all,

I'm jumping the gun a little with this as I'm pregnant and found out earlier than a missed period (it's 3 days away)

I had a miscarriage at the start of February so I'm terrified, but trying to be optimistic all will be okay. My lines are getting darker, which they didn't do last time.

Anyone else due in December?

How many of you have already called the GP/ midwife? I'm very excited but I don't want to call too early. This is my first rodeo and I'm just over 4weeks! Its great to have this thread as I haven't told anyone yet. X

Trufflepigglet · 02/04/2020 08:45

@PBailey20 I called yesterday when I was 5w+1d. I held off calling for a few days as I was so scared but with things as they are at the moment I thought i'd best join the queue as its going to be a while to get seen!

ineedamiracle2020 · 02/04/2020 08:47

Hey hope I'm ok to join!

I've just found out I'm pregnant and will be due 8th December! Can't quite believe it yet ! I hope you're all well 😊

Mimba1 · 02/04/2020 09:01

@jtc19 try not to worry! Most pregnancies are successful and you have youth on your side which makes a massive difference! Take it a day at a time and try to relax. Find the people you want to support you and keep them near. Look after yourself!

OoOoBabyLove · 02/04/2020 09:07

i havent called the doctors yet! im a bit nervous to do it yet as i know a few of the receptionists and i dont want them to know yet! it just wont feel as special i dont think! do you know if you can just call the midwife department at your local hospital instead? Welcome to all the new ladies! what an exciting time 💕 X

Bobbieblu · 02/04/2020 09:15

Hi, can I join? Found out at the weekend and really excited but also terrified! I’m 4+5 and so due 5th Dec I think. Told my mum yesterday but will wait till after an early scan (Ivf baby) in a couple of weeks before telling anyone else. Totally with everyone on the knicker watch, I had no idea that it would be this nerve wracking to get a positive test result. Good luck to everyone.

LBJ2410 · 02/04/2020 09:24

Hi @Bobbieblu! Congrats ☺️ I also had IVF, due on the 3rd Dec. It's such an exciting but scary time!

I don't know about you but I didn't believe the positive result for a few hours.. kept having to go back and look at the two lines to convince myself!

Will you have a scan at 7 weeks at your clinic?

Bobbieblu · 02/04/2020 09:42

Thank you @LBL2410 I’m still not sure that I believe the results even 3 tests later... But trying to stay positive! 7 week scan will be at my clinic- I imagine it will be eerily quiet as they’ve stopped all new cycles. How about you? And congratulations back to you too!

LBJ2410 · 02/04/2020 10:00

@Bobbieblu yes I feel the same it's all very surreal! Trying to stay positive too as there's no reason not to be so far 🤞🏼

I'm 5 weeks today and I've got my scan on the 17th.. I'm not sure what's going on in my clinic, but I would imagine it's the same with the no new cycles! Just glad we got in there before all of the madness!

AnnieCa34 · 02/04/2020 10:14

@PBailey20 I called when I was 4+2 as I didn’t want to wait! I have an appt 25th April for bloods and booking in. They said have sent me a letter with scan date but don’t have it yet. I wasn’t sure if it was a bit early
to call but did it anyway!

Mimba1 · 02/04/2020 10:42

I'm waking up every morning feeling perfect (no nausea, wide awake,
boobs normal size) and wondering if I imagined the whole thing then gradually getting worse through the day - just starting to feel a bit queasy now having been up since 0630. Anyone else having that? I thought it was meant to be "morning" sickness! Is this normal?

coley17 · 02/04/2020 11:13

Does anyone know if there is a Dec Facebook group? 😃
Hope you are all doing ok! My symptoms seem to come and go so trying to keep busy while Im feeling better.

Ldawg · 02/04/2020 11:39

@Mimba1 morning sickness can come at any time! My symptoms are starting to come along too, feeling awful first thing now and can't stop eating. I did have some very minor spotting this morning though. I don't think I'd have even noticed if I wasn't checking obsessively. Nothing since and no cramping so I think I'm going to wait before contacting the doctor. Did a pregnancy test and it has progressed a lot since the last two days ago.

This anxiety is the worst!!

GreenerGreen · 02/04/2020 11:50

@marlibs3 that's such a good way of explaining and no not sensitive more sensible. ignore that other person!

@PBailey20 I called at 4 weeks and the receptionist on the phone was bit rude 'well you're very early on', i thought alright sis don't p*ss on my parade!! I sent a form back for the midwife. I also have a telephone appointment with the Dr (which I booked 3.5 weeks ago before I knew, I recently changed Doctors and think 3.5 weeks for an appointment is ridiculous!!)

Thinking more about getting a private scan, 12 weeks is a long time to wait plus with the news about partners not being able to attend makes me feel sad, I'd really want my husband to be there.

Anyone else totally weird-ed out by the 3D image on Pregnancy+ app. Can't stop staring at it!!

Trying my best to eat healthy foods but had a right blip yesterday with an ALDI mars bar!!!

Have a good day everyone and congrats to all the new joiners!!1

xxxx

Mimba1 · 02/04/2020 12:10

@Ldawg I know. I'm trying so hard to stay calm and not be anxious. It's so much easier being at home in a lot if ways but managing anxiety isn't one of them!

I'm also thinking about a private scan as I want DH there, especially if it's bad news - there's no way I could've driven myself home last time. I'll book it last minute as it seemed easy to get appointments. Does anyone know if police are OK with travel for private scans? I don't need to be getting fined on top of this!

PBailey20 · 02/04/2020 12:26

@GreenerGreen that's what I think will happen when I call and then I would feel like a real idiot! I'm gonna hold out a bit longer I think.

Clemmie83 · 02/04/2020 12:33

@PBailey20 @GreenerGreen I've been told to wait until 6 weeks until I contact the midwife for an appointment, that's Monday for me although feels like time is going SO slowly!

Dee96 · 02/04/2020 12:51

Hi all just found out I'm pregnant a couple days ago so will be due early December. My oh doesnt know as he wouldn't be too happy. Very scared and unsure. Just wanted to be around some positivity and people I could get excited with as I know every one views my pregnancy as a bad thing. Congrats to everyone 😁

Mimba1 · 02/04/2020 12:51

@clemmie83 good to know about waiting until 6 weeks. They can't really do anything right now anyway I guess. It feels like such a long time but I'm sure it'll go quickly!

Mimba1 · 02/04/2020 12:53

@Dee96 welcome. Congratulations and good luck!

GreenerGreen · 02/04/2020 13:00

6 weeks feels like an eternity!
Those withe other children does the rest of the pregnancy speed up or is does it feel like it drags on?

@Dee96 hiiii! sorry to hear you haven't got a very supportive group around you. Are they against the pregnancy and are you safe? xx

Lemondropsandgumdrops · 02/04/2020 13:04

I woke up to some brown discharge and jelly like mucous this morning. Trying not to panic, but not doing very well at it. I haven’t had anymore since but obviously it’s too early (I think I’m 4+2) so even the EPU wouldn’t be able to check anything at this stage. I’ve had cramps but I had cramps with my first all the way up to 17 weeks and it was fine. Has anyone had anything similar?

Lemondropsandgumdrops · 02/04/2020 13:05

@GreenerGreen I found in my first pregnancy, the first 12 weeks is absolutely the slowest. It flies by after that.

Beccarans89 · 02/04/2020 13:13

@lemondropsandgumdrops sorry to hear that, totally understand feeling anxious! I've been the same - had on and off spotting since Sunday and have been a nervous wreck this week! Spoke with the doc twice and they've said the same, not much can be done as it's early (I'm 5+5) and they just said to rest as much as possible and see how things go. There's loads of reasons as to why you may have had that and it could just be down to implantation etc so try not to worry but I know first hand that's easier said than done! Fingers crossed for us both xxx

Dee96 · 02/04/2020 13:14

@GreenerGreen I'm currently in lockdown with my oh and family so in a tricky situation. I may either have to go home and admit to my family my situation or open up but last time I was pregnant my oh did not react well, it was a horrible time. I'm 23 so all my friends and family thinks it's too young for me and are against it , but it's just nice for once to be around posts of happiness the way a pregnancy should be not all doom and gloom!
