Hi all,

I'm jumping the gun a little with this as I'm pregnant and found out earlier than a missed period (it's 3 days away)

I had a miscarriage at the start of February so I'm terrified, but trying to be optimistic all will be okay. My lines are getting darker, which they didn't do last time.

Anyone else due in December?

@LBJ2410, congratulations! I have a scan on 18th April! I will be 7 weeks 4 days then! Excited for it! Yeh it’s nice to have people to chat too on here! Haha I would love to speed up time!

LBJ2410 · 31/03/2020 15:37

@AnnieCa34 ooh very exciting! Have you booked a private one? I guess the only good thing about the IVF is the 7 week scan is included!

I've already told my parents because they knew we were going through the treatment. You must be very excited to tell them even if it is just over Skype!

Beccarans89 · 31/03/2020 16:07

Congratulations @LBJ2410 that's lovely news!!

Yes if only we could find a way to speed up time! I've spoken to the docs this afternoon as had some more very light spotting, he didn't seem concerned and said it was common and I've been told to just rest! (Not that there is much else to do!) We have booked a private scan for Saturday when I will be 6 weeks just for reassurance so hopefully all is ok until then!

AnnieCa34 · 31/03/2020 16:31

@LBJ2410 yeh booked a private one, I am so anxious about it all and getting all the cramps I would rather have one then. Also I know currently partners aren’t allowed to 12 week one but this private one partners can come along. It’s our first so I would like him to be able to see!
@Beccarans89 hope your scan Saturday all goes ok. Hope all stays ok, they do say spotting is normal so hopefully it’s just normal spotting. It’s such an anxious time!

Ldawg · 31/03/2020 16:35

Welcome @LBJ2410!

I'm very jealous of all your pregnancy symptoms guys! Still nothing so far - although only 4+1. In fact it made me very teary with my boss earlier - which is quite unlike me so maybe I am having symptoms after all - heightened emotions!

Aw @beccarans89, I hope all goes well at the weekend. It's impossible not to worry but at least the doctor was reassuring.

LBJ2410 · 31/03/2020 16:40

@AnnieCa34 yes my husband will be gutted if he can't come to the 12 week scan (as will I). I understand why it has to be done but it's still a shame. But yeah he's coming to the 7 week one so fingers crossed!

@Beccarans89 I'm no expert either but I have read it's very common and if you're GP didn't sound too concerned that's a good sign. Good luck for Saturday 🤞🏼

Vikkiyoga · 31/03/2020 16:48

Hello everyone, I would like to join too if that's OK ☺️

I'm due the 3rd of December (I think lol) it's a very daunting time to be pregnant isn't it...

There's an 11 year gap so I can't remember much about the beginning of my last pregnancy. Symptoms are Having cramps the last few days but hoping that's normal... Tired all the time and suffering with some nausea. And very sore boobs! I'm questioning everything, maybe because I've wanted to have another one for so long (my partner never wanted a second but he's coming round)

It will be nice to have other ladies to chat to due around the same time as me
Xxx

Beccarans89 · 31/03/2020 16:48

Thank you so much @LBJ2410 @Ldawg @AnnieCa34! I will let you all know how it goes - feeling all sorts of emotions haha! Yes the doc was very reassuring and said light spotting can happen to 1 in 8 women so hopefully it stays light and nothing more. Symptoms are a funny one, are you all finding they come and go? I seem to be getting so breathless!! Like even just walking up the stairs seems to take it out of me and I’m unfit but not that unfit! Crazy how our bodies are changing already xx

Beccarans89 · 31/03/2020 16:49

Welcome @Vikkiyoga and Congratulations!! Lovely news xxx

Vikkiyoga · 31/03/2020 17:09

Thank you @Beccarans89 xxx

AnnieCa34 · 31/03/2020 17:37

@Beccarans89 yeh I normally walks miles a day and things but I am walking super slow and getting worn out far easier! It’s weird! Used to go the gym! Won’t be doing that anymore don’t think I could cope! My symptoms come and go, sometimes I feel fine and at others I have cramps, feel tired and other weird stomach pains.

lionsmum · 31/03/2020 18:01

@marlibs3 I'm having a scan there too in a few weeks! can you please let me know whether they managed to do it through the tummy or trans? Congrats to all the newbies!Smile

Symptom wise I am starving! And so tired, but that's really about it. I feel a tiny bit of sickness in the morning before I've eaten but I had that with my last pregnancy too. Wishing time away until the scan x

OoOoBabyLove · 31/03/2020 18:25

loving reading everyones updates! its so exciting but also very daunting that there is so much going on in the world.
i did think we may be able to facetime/record the scan for our partners if they arent allowed into the scans?!
i dont really have any symptoms at all, i walked 8 miles today, definitely not tired, not nauseous, no sore/swollen boobs etc, i am quite hungry though but, i am always hungry haha.
has anyone else got hardly any symptoms?
x

AnnieCa34 · 31/03/2020 18:47

I wish I had hardly any symptoms right now I am laying on my hard floor tummy down as it’s the only thing helping the stomach pain. It’s not cramps it’s more refluxy sickness. Attempted to walk the dogs but had to turn round. Laying here is helping but it’s horrible. Seems to be also around this time of day I get it. I could have cried out walking. It feels so weird!

AnnieCa34 · 31/03/2020 18:49

@OoOoBabyLove yeh I’m hoping if he isn’t allowed on I can FaceTime him so it’s like he is there. I know can show them the pic afterward but that’s not quite the same!
@lionsmum how far along will you be when you have the scan? My thing said come with a full bladder but if they need to do it’s trans vaginally they will ask you to empty your bladder so maybe they try it abdominally first. I don’t know how much to drink to have a full bladder! I don’t drink much anyway I will prob burst if I have a full bladder for too long 😂

Lemondropsandgumdrops · 31/03/2020 18:56

Hello 👋🏻

I found out on Sunday we’re joining the December 2020 group. I was also part of the December 2018 group but DD was late and ended up being a January 2019 baby. Not going to lie, I’m slightly terrified. No symptoms yet but I didn’t have many with my first either so not surprised.

Trufflepigglet · 31/03/2020 19:03

@AnnieCa34 I had a tummy on a couple months ago to check for signs of endo and I had to drink 2 pints of water an hour before my appointment

OoOoBabyLove · 31/03/2020 19:13

@AnnieCa34 oh no you sound so uncomfortable already. i did say to my partner that i am probably being a bit overly excited about no symptoms and one day soon im going to wake up and feel horrendous lol!
yes facetime should be allowed hopefully!! i am not sure whether to hold off until 12 week normal scan or to have an early one!
what do they do on an internal scan?!

AnnieCa34 · 31/03/2020 19:18

@Lemondropsandgumdrops welcome and congratulations!
@Trufflepigglet ah thanks that’s good to know!
@OoOoBabyLove I was fine most of the day and then it hit me! Easing a bit now! As far as I know internal scan is basically a probe thing they put up you and gives you same sort of view as abdominal one but when under 10 weeks they say sometimes they need to do an internal one to get a better look I guess as they so small then! I was a bit apprehensive if I might need an internal one but apparently it’s not too bad and I would like it for reassurance so decided to go for it!

lionsmum · 31/03/2020 19:57

@AnnieCa34 I'll be 7+4 when I get mine, what about you? I'm sure that's the same instructions given to me. With my DS I had an early scan (at a different place) but they managed abdominally so I'm hoping it will be the same this time too! If it's too full they'll ask you to empty it a little bit, it's a difficult thing trying to control exactly how much is in your bladder🥴😂

AnnieCa34 · 31/03/2020 20:40

@lionsmum I will be 7+4 too! What date is yours? Mine is 18th April. It seems so far away still lol. Ah that’s good to know. If my bladder is too full how they expect you to only empty it a bit! Haha will practice my muscles for that 😂

LBJ2410 · 31/03/2020 21:27

@OoOoBabyLove I don't really have many symptoms either! I feel quite normal other than a bit tired. Initially had some tummy pains but they seem to have gone.

The internal scans are absolutely fine so nobody needs to worry! I had to have loads during IVF so maybe I'm just use to it 😂

lionsmum · 31/03/2020 21:31

@AnnieCa34 ahh so exciting! Mine is the 19th, just a day apartSmile isn't it, I'm trying to take it day by day but it's hard not to just want to fast forward to that weekend. I know lol it's a strange thing to be asked to do! Is this your first?

lionsmum · 31/03/2020 21:33

@LBJ2410 huge congratulations on your pregnancy, what an exciting time for you and your partner

Lemondropsandgumdrops · 31/03/2020 21:34

Has anyone had trouble with making contact with the midwife due to the virus? My last pregnancy you just called the GP who booked you in with the midwife. The GPs refused and said I need to contact the midwifery team directly, thankfully I still had her number from last time. Midwife wasn’t aware of the process but said that’s fine, she asked my name and that’s it and said I’d need an appointment in a couple of weeks to book in but I’m not sure how that’s going to happen as she didn’t really take any details
