Hi all,

I'm jumping the gun a little with this as I'm pregnant and found out earlier than a missed period (it's 3 days away)

I had a miscarriage at the start of February so I'm terrified, but trying to be optimistic all will be okay. My lines are getting darker, which they didn't do last time.

Anyone else due in December?

Apart from boyfriend only my boss knows. I didn't want to tell her but I spent all yesterday aft with my head down the toilet so kinda had to so she doesn't think i'm skiving!

We plan on telling the grandparents and our siblings in a few weeks on boyfriends birthday. I'll be about 7 and a half weeks then. Will be a shame to have to do it on facetime but thats what the times call for!

Some medical bloke said on BBC news this morning we will more than likely be in lockdown for around 12 weeks and I cannot wait that long to tell my Mum.

lionsmum · 30/03/2020 12:31

Trying to keep my mind occupied too, honestly sometimes I forget because I don't feel pregnant really at all, obsessively doing pregnancy tests which are getting darker though so that's reassuring. Going to stop in a few days though. I was saying this to my husband earlier that it feels time is moving so slowly now with lockdown going on, I'm still on maternity leave from my DS but have always managed to keep myself busy, until now. What's everyone else doing to pass the days? Only my DH and SIL know (because she's staying with us right now) and planning on keeping it that way until after our early scan.

Welcome everyone🤗

@AnnieCa34 @AnnieCa34 @AnnieCa34 I want to be excited but scared to as then will be even more disappointed if it doesn't work out! Got to stay positive 😊

Whiffle77 · 30/03/2020 12:58

My work is crazy which is helping with some distractions! My boobs hurt loads on my last pregnancy/MC, but nothing now - all pregnancies are different though. I still feel hungover and exhausted - sleeping so much!
I've just told two friends as one is also preggo, and will tell my best mate and grandparents in the next few weeks. I felt crap last time when I had to tell them I'd had a MC before even telling them I was pregnant, and feel like I missed out a lot. Rubbish not being able to do it in person though but it is what it is. Telling people is a really personal decision though, so do whatever makes you feel best. I wont tell work till I have to given we are on lockdown, even though they were great with the MC.

AnnieCa34 · 30/03/2020 13:21

It’s so weird being so excited to be pregnant but being in this weird lockdown situation. I’m kinda glad I’m not at work but equally if I was at work time would probably go quicker! I’m still really unsure about an early scan. Of places are even open is it safe. The only symptom I have is cramps! Literally nothing else! No sickness no sore boobs nothing so I am doubting I even am! Gonna wait for my scan letter and see what date my 12 weeks scan is. As I think it can vary from 10-13 weeks 6 days. If it’s super late I might see about an early scan. Does seem like window to the womb is open. Would rather have my
Boyfriend there if something is wrong and nhs scans aren’t allowed partners. Will wait a couple weeks and see.

Whiffle77 · 30/03/2020 13:45

I wanted to have an early scan but am trying to accept now that that wont happen. Worrying but as with everything else - could be a lot worse!!

lc86 · 30/03/2020 13:57

Sorry to hear about your losses, we had decided not to really try this month because of the virus however we just had a positive test Smile it's my partners first baby but I have two girls already, 10 and 7. I remember morning sickness starting around week 6 so am not looking forward to that, but like you've said at least partners are at home to help! It's so difficult to not be excited this early on, just have to think positive xx

Whiffle77 · 30/03/2020 14:00

Congratulations @lc86 think we all feel the same, but nice to have something positive to think about at the minute!

GreenerGreen · 30/03/2020 15:08

Hi girls! Hope everyone is feeling okay, particularly after the news that we might be in a semi-lockdown stage until October!!

Just trying to catch-up on all the comments as somehow didn't get notifications. Can't remember who commented about their Mum not reacting the way they'd hope to, sorry to hear that. it's funny, you imagine how people will react and it never turns out that way.

Those of you having a 6 week scan - is this done privately? how much does it cost?

I had period-pain like cramps yesterday and was so scared, kept checking my underwear for any sign of a miscarriage. No cramps today though.

Is anyone finding a particular app helpful? I've being using Pregnancy+ by Philips the 3D image is so interesting and weird!! Just got the book 'What to expect when you're expecting" flippin eck it's massive, but finding it v useful so far.

Sending lots of love xx

finallydec2020 · 30/03/2020 15:21

I'm 4 weeks and 4 days, and my cramps still feel like period pains, I've had them almost 2 weeks now. (Have done 8 tests though, so Ik I'm pregnant). My boobs also hurt lots and I feel sick throughout the day. It feels like a lot of symptoms for this early on? Does anyone have any idea about that? Also, does anyone know when these cramps will end, I'm on edge everyday checking to see if anything has gone wrong what with these cramps. This was month 23 of trying, so if anything goes wrong, we'll be truly devastated:(

Beccarans89 · 30/03/2020 16:01

@greenergreen apps wise I've been using 2, I also use Pregnancy+ but also Ovia Pregnancy and I look at them both but really like Ovia! I was having a look at some books to get yesterday, would you recommend 'What to expect when you're expecting'?

Hope everyone is doing ok! It is such a nerve wracking time and I've definitely struggled at times, but we're nearly at the end of another day safely and another day closer to scans etc xx

Emerald89 · 30/03/2020 16:07

@GreenerGreen Pregnancy+ app is good!! Haven’t figures out how much of it is free yet though as some bits need in-app purchases which sucks.

The photo for 4 weeks looks like a vagina(!)

marlibs3 · 30/03/2020 16:09

Hi @GreenerGreen! I'm having a scan done at 6+4 at Window to the Womb in Glasgow, and it costs £60 I think.

I've also been having cramps, they are so stressful! But honestly, I'd rather that than nothing, makes me feel like something is happening in there!

I'm also using Pregnancy+, love the super cool visualisations! I'll have to check out Ovia @Beccarans89 :)

I've been reading Your Pregnancy Bible (I picked it over what to expect bc it was UK based so has advice about how appointments work like here). I've also been reading the Positive Birth Book which I'd 100% recommend to anyone who's a bit apprehensive about that side of things!

Congrats @finallydec2020! Keeping my fingers crossed for you :)

tossacoin1 · 30/03/2020 16:11

@Emerald89 haha I thought the exact same thing!! 😂

Beccarans89 · 30/03/2020 16:15

Haha @emerald89 I thought the same about the pic!

@marlibs3 amazing, thank you for the tip, I will maybe order a couple! That's so exciting about your scan, I have been debating having one next week as well, night just go for it! Something to aim for xx

marlibs3 · 30/03/2020 16:20

@tossacoin1 @Emerald89 @Beccarans89 hahaha me too! week five looks amazing, with the heartbeat and everything - it's hard to imagine it's not yours!

@Beccarans89 yeah it's helping me feel positive! I feel like the cost is worth the peace of mind but it does come with risks so I totally understand not going for one.

AnnieCa34 · 30/03/2020 16:36

@finallydec2020 I’m like you o have been feeling cramps everyday since I found out I was pregnant and am constantly rushing to check I’m not bleeding, keep googling percentage of miscarriage which I know isn’t good but I am so scared. Also have been feeling sick, and getting really bad headaches which I never normally get. Hope these don’t get worse as the weeks go on! But I just want to baby to keep growing and be healthy!
@marlibs3 I will have to look at those books they sound good!

I also have the Ovia app, going to look at the pregnancy + one now too!

Mimba1 · 30/03/2020 16:40

I had a MC in January at 8 wks 6 days (foetus only 5wks on scan) so also feeling really nervous about this one. @savethewales are you feeling any different this time? I'm so worried that everything's feeling exactly the same as last time when it went wrong - same sickness, same tiredness etc. I'm trying not to think about it and stay calm but it's hard - especially when you'refeeling sick and tired! We were TTC for 3 years before MC1 so it feels like a blessing we got PG again so quickly but also a lot of pressure! I haven't spoken to my doctor yet - all the internal scans were awful last time and I ended up going through the MC at home on my own anyway so I'd rather just wait and see what happens for a couple of weeks I think.

savethewales · 30/03/2020 16:54

Hi all, just to confirm I'm currently bleeding and have miscarried again. I've spoken to the GP who was really reassuring and said it's basically just bad luck. I can have tests if it happens again, just to check for my bloods and things. Hope you all have a successful pregnancy x

Big hugs.

I'm sorry to hear that @savethewales, I'm gutted for you! I'm glad your GP has been understanding and best of luck with everything xx

Mimba1 · 30/03/2020 18:16

@savethewales I'm so sorry. That's just horrid. Look after yourself.
