Glad you feel a bit better @Pippop21 and you've had a positive scan! If they were really worried about what they have found they would have said I'm sure.
I always rationalise spending like that @AnxiousLady1 I like your train of thought!!

kkr168 · 05/04/2020 17:20

I'm 5+6, when should I expect to hear from a midwife? I self referred online last week.

After my MC in Jan the epu found an ovarian cyst, I was due to go for a follow up scan next week but they've just cancelled! I'm not sure wether I should be more worried about this, they didn't seem to concerned at the time & didn't advise not TTC.

MOGMOGMOG85 · 05/04/2020 18:00

@kk168 is there a number you can call? I find the midwives are always more than happy to give reassurance over the phone and it might help you to know you've raised the cyst so it's on their radar? xx

MissSparkles81 · 05/04/2020 18:14

Ive just had a bleed and im terrified that its another mc. Im 7+1 today and literally went to the toilet about an hr ago and nothing and then was getting changed into pjs when I noticed it. I would say that it was a medium amount ... definitely not spotting.

It seems to have eased off now but im so gutted that I am going to have to go through the farce of having to get in touch with the epu tomorrow again. My care was so badly managed last time that I ended up putting a complaint in.

I just feel numb just now ... cant believe that this could be happening again 😪

tmc14 · 05/04/2020 18:53

@misssparkles81 so sorry you’re having this stress. If it’s eased off I’d say try not to worry. I’m also sorry you had a rubbish epu experience, which isn’t going to help the anxiety. But, you don’t know anything yet. I can’t tell you it will be ok, but i don’t know that it won’t be ok either. So many people bleed & it’s all fine. All you can do is rest for the evening, distract yourself with some tv and nice food, and call in the morning. Sending massive hugs. Also keep writing on here if you’re feeling anxious and need an outlet xx

Knotemma · 05/04/2020 19:34

@MissSparkles81 sending you big hugs, it's so scary, but hopefully everything is ok. Sorry that you've had a rubbish time with the epu in the past, I hope that it's a much more positive experience this time x

Jonsey1987 · 05/04/2020 19:46

@MissSparkles81good luck for tomorrow, I'll be thinking of you!
It can be normal I've had friends who have had healthy babies bleed throughout the whole pregnancy.
Hopefully your care is much better this time.
Make sure you know what you want before you go bloods and a scan?! Write all of your questions down I know it can be a blurr! Sending hugs x x

MissSparkles81 · 05/04/2020 19:52

Thank you ladies. Xxx

Whiffle77 · 05/04/2020 19:55

Sorry to hear that @misssparkles81 but it can be really normal to bleed! But I know you know that, and I know you will be thinking the worst as I would be too. Just try and keep yourself busy (but relaxed) this evening and hopefully you will have a better experience with EPU tomorrow. Hope that everything is ok and you get some reassurance

DressingGown87 · 05/04/2020 20:27

Sorry to read that @MissSparkles81 Really do hope everything is ok, and your ok. Good luck for tomorrow, and hope it’s a better experience. Xx

MOGMOGMOG85 · 05/04/2020 20:54

@MissSparkles81 let us know how it goes tomorrow. Really sorry you're going through this. I will be crossing my fingers everything is ok as I see people post about bleeding and it ending up fine all the time. Sending lots of hugs xxx

Sunflower1608 · 06/04/2020 03:04

@Pippop21 I had a massive bleed with my second son at 8weeks and went on to have a health pregnancy. I was told after the bleed that it was a subchorionic hemorrhage. Same thing with this pregnancy but only small and at 8 week and the scan indicated a hemorrhage. Had my 12 week scan which showed it had cleared its self up. My midwife advised 2 weeks rest (minimal exercise, no work, etc)

TunnocksTcake · 06/04/2020 07:17

Eugh I just woke up, went to the loo and had bleeding when I wiped. It's a kind of light brown... not red or pink, looked like there was quite a bit in the toilet (but hard to tell) and it was there for 4 wipes after. Rang midwives and just have to rest unless it turns red but what can it actually be?! We haven't had sex recently, only thing I have done differently is a bit more exercise yesterday and was weeding the garden so I was more active... I've been getting twinges low down and backache but assumed it was all the stretching happening. This is so weird When you don't have the first trimester symptoms either.
Please be ok in there baby!

tmc14 · 06/04/2020 07:44

@TunnocksTcake so sorry you’ve woken up to bleeding. Keeping everything crossed it stops & all is well. Are you able to rest up today? x

Avocuddles · 06/04/2020 08:11

@TunnocksTcake hoping the bleeding just comes from natural changes to your uterus and that isn't anymore of it. We'll all be thinking of you.

Updating my weeks....

Sorry to hear that @TunnocksTcake hope all is ok. It really is a rollercoaster ride isnt it?

MissSparkles81 · 06/04/2020 09:02

So managed to get the through to the epu and they cant scan me till wednesday at 12 and sadly my bf isnt able to come in with me.

Ive had spotting every time I wipe. Its not alot and its kinda going dark brown so hoping thats a good sign that as last time the bleeding continued and got heavier.

TunnocksTcake · 06/04/2020 09:21

@MissSparkles81 sorry you are also having bleeding, it's such a scary time. It going darker sounds like a good sign. Are you able to get a private scan sooner? Window to the womb are still open in some locations.

Thanks everyone. It's still there but not getting worse or better... we shall see.
I was on the fence about having a 16 week scan but now definitely going to get a scan booked. Not sure I can wait another week though. Will see how this bleeding progresses.

MissSparkles81 · 06/04/2020 09:31

@TunnocksTcake we already have a private scan booked for next week at window to the womb. I had a look at their online system last night and they dont have any appts till end April.

Im so sorry to hear your having bleeding too. I hope that your ok 💞

Avocuddles · 06/04/2020 11:20

@TunnocksTcake @MissSparkles81 I had a very negative experience at window to the womb -I'm sure it's a nice experience if all is going well but didn't find them at all supportive when I was having difficulties so if you can have a hospital based scan I would always recommend that first.

That said I am very tempted to book another scan as 20 weeks feel so far away and I'm nervous about how the coronavirus might have impacted on the pregnancy. I spoke to my midwife yesterday who was going to pick up with the hospital around whether there would be any extra checks but I imagine it'll be a big fat no.....

OP posts:
TunnocksTcake · 06/04/2020 11:38

@Avocuddles I wanted to stay away because they feel a bit commercial to me but the nice scan place I went to before is now shut and don't have any other options. I like you am feeling like the 20 week scan is ages away, even more so with this bleeding. I don't think I will get offered anything hospital based, it's gone very light now. Having the odd cramp and my back hurts but I keep reminding myself I have been having those for weeks, and they are very quick and intermittent.
I read on multiple things that pregnant ladies who have recovered from corona virus should be offered a reassurance scan within 4 weeks so worth googling that and find the source.

Mimba1 · 06/04/2020 12:23

@MissSparkles81 I'm sorry you're so worried. Fingers crossed for you. Can your BF wait outside the hospital so at least he's nearby?

@TunnocksTcake I ended up missing my scan at Window to the Womb - I booked it really soon after my BFP because I was so worried and MC before the appt. One of the ladies I spoke to was crap ("alright love, thanks for letting us know!") but the other lady I spoke to was really lovely and so supportive. Obviously I didn't have an actual scan there but I imagine it depends on who you get? If you think it will help you I'd say go for it.

Anyone who's still early on (I'm just over 6 weeks) what are you being told by your Dr/midwife? I put off calling for a couple of weeks as I had an unpleasant experience last time and finally phoned them on Friday and they said to phone them back at 8 weeks to make an appointment. That feels like quite a long time before any contact? I appreciate they can't do a lot right now but still expected there to be some support. They didn't even ask about medical history or give me any basic advice. It was just "call back in 2 weeks" and they hung up. Is that normal?

Whiffle77 · 06/04/2020 12:37

I've not rang yet @mimba1 but last time, they would book me an appointment but not until I was 8 weeks, so I would imagine yours is similar. I haven't even rang up yet, I was going to ring next week to see if they would make me an appointment. So I would say it was normal, even before covid

bananamuffin99 · 06/04/2020 12:55

With regards to private scans, I've had a scan in my previous pregnancy at ultrasound direct and at window to the womb this pregnancy. I found ultrasound direct to be much more clinical and professional. I just don't like window to the wombs setup, it's very much geared towards a happy outcome with the heartbeat teddy bears in reception, gender reveal cannons etc. Which is fair enough, but when 1 in 4 pregnancies end in miscarriage maybe a bit more sensitivity to what can go wrong wouldn't go amiss? I also think ultrasound direct are better value for money, I got loads of pics and video plus detailed report. Window to the womb gave one pic and charged £10 for video.

Also the receptionists were really rude, openly slagging off previous customers!!

Mimba1 · 06/04/2020 13:00

Thanks @Whiffle77 I'll wait a bit longer, Last time there was a 3 week wait for appointments but hopefully that will be a bit less.

Amanda
