@Aria2015 @TunnocksTcake thanks! 🥰 ooh 12 weeks, I'm sure all will go well on next weeks scan!

@Avocuddles good luck on your scan today, I'll be thinking of you today!!! ❤️

@Shefliesonherownwings so sorry to hear you're anxious and totally understandable. Definitely try bring the scan forward to give you peace of mind. I saw heartbeat at 5 weeks 6 days so it's not too early to go at 6.5 weeks for a viability scan! Spotting early pregnancy is so common though but I do understand why you're worried. Take care of yourself and try book for the earlier scan!

didslysquiddlydoo · 19/03/2020 07:58

@Shefliesonherownwings definitely contact GP for a referral to EPAU - they should see you for any amount of sporting / bleeding or pain. Hopefully it will help to alleviate your worries too, it sounds very stressful to have to wait longer xxx

didslysquiddlydoo · 19/03/2020 08:00

@SunStruck SO pleased for you - lovely scan pictures too!! Xx

didslysquiddlydoo · 19/03/2020 08:02

@TunnocksTcake oh god, so true!!! But I guess imagine basically having to out ourselves at our most anxious and unknown time!!! I feel kinda grateful that I'd had a good 12 week scan before all of this madness started as I don't know how I would have felt about telling people before that! On saying that, I had a lovely super long nap yesterday so o think we can still benefit 😂

Rachael321 · 19/03/2020 09:49

Went back to work yesterday, no plan in place re coronavirus other than extra hand sanitizer points, if choose to self isolate will be done using normal sickness policy and SSP. no option of working from home.

Felt awful last night, thought just tired after first day back...
Woke in the middle of the night with stomach pains and was sick and then sick again this morning! So now starting the sickness route all over again with unpaid leave before ssp. Cant get a sick line until been off for a week. Cant see the doctor either due to this bloody virus!

Been sat crying for the last hour stressed out and feeling sorry for myself

Hope everyone has a better day than me! And it's not even 10am

Knotemma · 19/03/2020 10:32

Oh no @Rachael321 so sorry that you're struggling with sickness. I'm sure that the guidance to employers is that they must provide reasonable adjustments, even if that's providing you with a place to work in isolation in your workplace, or doing stockroom stuff if your in retail. It really doesn't sound like they're being particularly supportive, which isn't great. Try not to stress yourself out to much and I really hope you feel better soon. Could you maybe get a telephone appointment with the doctor? I'm on a combination of omeprezol for heart burn and cyclizine for the sickness which has really helped me

SammiLou2312 · 19/03/2020 10:58

@Shefliesonherownwings are you able to call your midwife for advice? It may be nothing (I had some slight brownish spotting around 6/7 weeks but it was absolutely fine) but it's always worth getting checked even if its just for piece of mind. Try to keep calm and call midwife or GP/EPU if you haven't already. Sending love and best wishes x

@Rachael321 I can't believe your work are being so harsh. Do they not have to make allowances to move you into a role that protects you given that the government have marked us all as high risk now?

I have had some good news this morning. Got my nuchal scan and blood results back this morning and am showing as low risk for downs, Edwards and Pataus syndromes so that's one less thing to worry about in these concerning times. Hope everyone is doing ok and keeping safe x

Shefliesonherownwings · 19/03/2020 12:37

Hi all, thanks for the replies. I didn't have any spotting in the night but had a little this morning. I'm still worried.

I would go to my gp but to be honest I've lost faith with my gp after failings last year with DD and I can't book an appointment with another one unless I ring up and get an emergency appointment. I'd feel bad taking an emergency appointment from someone for this. I also don't have a midwife yet. We self referred to a different hospital this time so still waiting to hear from them with a booking in appointment. Can I just turn up at the EPU?

I'm going to ring the private clinic and see about moving our scan forward to this weekend. If my dates are right I'll be 6+4 but DH is worried we won't see anything which will make us feel worse. I'm going to ask if they'll do an internal scan if they can't see anything externally. Fingers crossed.

Avocuddles · 19/03/2020 12:51

@Shefliesonherownwings sending you a big virtual hug. At 6 +4 you will definitely need an internal scan - the majority of private clinics offer one but it's still worth checking. As others have said there are so many stories of positive outcomes after spotting, I hope you are another one to add to that list.

@Rachael321 sorry you're having such a rough time of it, I hope the sickness is over soon. Can you get a telephone appointment with your GP?

@SammiLou2312 congrats on the positive test results, that's great to hear!

So there's been good news for me this morning. I was absolutely petrified about my 12 week scan but am delighted to say that everything looked great with baby still measuring in line with a 28th September due date. We are relieved and over the moon.....

@Avocuddles fantastic news x

Knotemma · 19/03/2020 13:08

@Shefliesonherownwings I would ring your local EPU and see if you can self refer, explain that with everything going on you're struggling to get through to the doctor's. I've done it before and they were brilliant with me. While it could be nothing it's still worth getting checked out. You'll most likely need an internal scan and they might ask you to go on your own with everything going on, but I doubt that they would turn you away

Knotemma · 19/03/2020 13:08

@Avocuddlesthis is brilliant news, definitely something to brighten the day up! So pleased everything went well for you, the dating scan is such a big milestone

TunnocksTcake · 19/03/2020 14:14

@Shefliesonherownwings I think all EPUs are different, mine just has a drop in every morning for anyone between 6-12 weeks with spotting or pain. Should say what the deal is on their website. Good luck. They will always rather see you than you worrying so don't feel like you are bothering anyone.

@avocuddles yay! So glad your scan went well! Xx

Shefliesonherownwings · 19/03/2020 14:41

Thanks ladies. I spoke to the private clinic and have moved the scan to this saturday. They said they they can 'normally' find the heartbeat from 6 weeks but I'm hoping if not they'll do an internal scan. I did briefly explain our history so fingers crossed they can do an internal.

I didn't know EPUs operate differently so will have a look at this one and see if they have a drop in time or something. DH has drilled it into me that we might not see anything on saturday with it being early and if that's the case we'll go for another scan in a couple of weeks. I'd rather try and get and get some reassurance this weekend though so I'm happy we moved the scan forward. Fingers crossed we can see something.

didslysquiddlydoo · 19/03/2020 14:53

@Avocuddles amazing news and beautiful scan pic!

didslysquiddlydoo · 19/03/2020 15:19

Thought I'd add to the positive 12 week scan news / pictures with mine!

We had this on Monday morning but obviously then got caught up in all the news re pregnant women later that day! But still, something positive in all of this!

@didslysquiddlydoo congrats! That's great news x

Treaclepie19 · 19/03/2020 15:29

@didslysquiddlydoo not until 1st April. I'll be 13+3 by then. Feels ages!

Aria2015 · 19/03/2020 15:45

Congratulations @didslysquiddlydoo and @avocuddles! Great news and great scan pics!

I had my scan today and measured 10 weeks and 6 days. Doctor was happy. Could see the heart beating but didn't get to see the baby move though which worried me but the doctor said it's nothing to worry about and that they sleep a lot. The scan was very brief so didn't get a chance to wait see if it work up.

I did get told off for not having gone to my GP yet. I cancelled my appointment last week because I was convinced something had gone wrong. Will go tomorrow and hopefully they can organise my 12 week scan quickly!

@Avocuddles @didsysquiddlydoo congratulations ladies!!!! 🥰🥰 soooo happy to hear more good news on this thread. I think they both look like girls (my very amateur nub theory guess 🤣🤣🤣). What do you think?

@Aria2015 congrats, what a relief! Not long until the 12 week mark now 😃

didslysquiddlydoo · 19/03/2020 16:55

@Aria2015 awww not long to wait until the 12 week scan at all! Such good news!

@SunStruck haha I'm also very amateur re nub / skull theory! I seem to think most scan photos look girly 😂
