*midwives. I had a bad night then was up early as it's DS's birthday and we wanted to give him time to open presents before school...

SJ1989 · 13/03/2020 20:13

Saw the midwife today, had to see her to them be referred to hospital for booking in, classed as high risk again due to uterine abnormality but I expected that, booking appointment arranged for the 30th which feels ages off

burntpinky · 13/03/2020 20:39

And it’s just after 830 and once again I’m off to bed. Feel like I barely see my DH as always just want to sleep

bluebell94 · 13/03/2020 20:56

@FireflyGirl yeah my area don't do that, GP referral only which is annoying!

littlegem84 · 13/03/2020 21:43

Thanks @FireflyGirl. You guessed correctly! I had DS in January last year after a MMC and feel slightly more relaxed about this pregnancy. I ended up not going back to work for various reasons and I found out today that the job I was meant to be going to probably isn’t happening because Coronavirus has disrupted business plans so now I’m high and dry and looking for a job (typically today is the day that the mechanic informed me I needed four new tyres, but them’s the brakes). So far I seem to have escaped horrid pregnancy symptoms once again. Last time around I ended up with chronic itchiness at night and dreadful reflux towards the end but other than that, managed to squeak by with a roaring hunger, an addiction to wotsits and a weird addiction to the smell of bath sponges...

I’m hoping for a VBAC but I had a wonderful experience with c-section last time so I wouldn’t be devastated.

I think 5 is a great age gap, he’ll fully appreciate being a big brother Smile

FireflyGirl · 13/03/2020 21:45

That is annoying @bluebell94, and a waste of their time really. Frustrating when you have to wait, but want to 'do' something! Grin

@burntpinky I was in the bath for 7.30 and in bed for 8.30, but we've got a family gathering on Sunday, so I've been sorting my online shopping order (no pasta available!!) and sorting stuff for DS's birthday party which is in 2 weeks.

@SJ1989 it does feel like forever at this stage, doesn't it? Grin

FireflyGirl · 13/03/2020 21:51

I hope so, @littlegem84. He's really good with his younger cousin and other little friends, I just worry that they're not going to be able to play together as he'll have grown out of playing by the time this one is old enough.

I'm also hoping for a VBAC, mostly because we live rurally and I have to drive everywhere including taking DS to and from school. Not being able to drive for 6 weeks nearly killed me last time - I got in my car on the morning of 6 weeks, and DH had left something plugged into the USB port which had drained the battery. I cried Blush the postman arrived at just the wrong moment and beat a hasty retreat back up the drive...Grin

ACatCalledLola · 13/03/2020 22:05

Happy birthday to your ds @FireflyGirl! I also have a 5 year old. It’s a lovely age and I bet your ds will love helping out and being a big brother.
You don’t always have to wait 6 weeks to drive after a c section. I was driving after 3 with both of mine. My gp was happy as long as I felt comfortable doing an emergency stop and my insurance company couldn’t have cared less!
I’m 6 weeks tomorrow and the nausea has ramped up a gear today. I feel like utter crap but it’s very reassuring because I was worried that I felt ok. Now I have no idea how I’m going to survive another few weeks of feeling like this.

FlashesOfRage · 14/03/2020 01:12

Hi again November gang ❤️

I was meant to be having a 7wk scan on Monday (IVFer) but I had a short but scary red bleed on Weds morning. My clinic called me in for a scan at 6+3 on Thursday morning.

I was in absolute bits because although I didn’t have pain my whole belly felt tender.

Turns out it was just a random bit of my endometrium bleeding and we are having twins ShockShockShock
Although we had two embryos put in, we were told by both the consultant and embryologist that one of them only had a modest chance and the other virtually zero (based on grading). We effectively thought we were taking the second one just to let nature take its course rather than it being discarded the next day! 🙃

I cried a lot today, but that’s just because I feel sick as a dog all day long lol x

Happymama24 · 14/03/2020 01:39

@flashesofrage Huge congratulations on having twins. It must be a shock! You can be sure will be having lots of scans moving forward 👍

SJ1989 · 14/03/2020 03:11

@FlashesOfRage congratulations how do you feel about having twins? My OH keeps saying he thinks its twins which scares the life out of me I think partly because when baby arrives my kids will still only be 4 & 2

Beesly · 14/03/2020 04:14

@FlashesOfRage congratulations! How exciting!!

burntpinky · 14/03/2020 07:28

@FlashesOfRage awww amazing news congratulations!!! I feel for you on the sickness. I’m unable to do anything due to mine and was physically sick this morning. I might actually get signed off for a bit. Meant to be working from home next week as my selfish boss is flying back from holiday through several CV countries and is refusing to self isolate (despite my originally being told by hr he would be) but am not sure I can actually work at all as feel/being sick and just wiped out all the time

FireflyGirl · 14/03/2020 07:37

What great news @FlashesOfRage! Congratulations!

bluebell94 · 14/03/2020 08:10

@FlashesOfRage omg wow! I bet that was a shock Grin over the moon for you!
Twins run on my DMs side of the family. I can't imagine what I'd do! 😂

I am so so tired and constantly hungry. At this rate I'll look like I'm having twins, 1 food baby and 1 real Smile

wannabebump · 14/03/2020 08:24

@FlashesOfRage congrats! That's amazing news! X

Emelene · 14/03/2020 08:42

@FlashesOfRage - huge congratulations!

I've booked a scan for 2 weeks time, I should be 8.5 weeks. I'm excited! Grin

wannabebump · 14/03/2020 09:59

I'm back to being full of worry today, feel like there are less symptoms and I'm 6 weeks today. Up until literally today, sore boobs, the odd sick feeling, tired... today I'm tired, so much so I went back to bed after I was up, but no sicky feeling and my boobs are no where near as sore. I'm such a worrier, I'd rather be floored with symptoms. Wish the early scan would hurry up x

HarrietM87 · 14/03/2020 10:02

I’m 5+3 today and the sore boobs have gone now. Though I didn’t have sore boobs at all when I was pregnant with my son so maybe it’s not a problem?! Otherwise my main symptom is exhaustion...slept about 12 hrs last night and had a nap at lunch (while working from home!) and it was amazing.

Oldermum80 · 14/03/2020 10:06

Morning all,
I should be 6+6 today. No symptoms still but I have an early scan on Tuesday because of previous miscarriage. Constantly checking when I wipe and my boobs for changes but nothing. Hoping it’s all still good but my age and past history is causing me doubts. Hope everyone is keeping well.

ACatCalledLola · 14/03/2020 10:19

@wannabebump I’m also 6 weeks today and consumed with worry. My boobs have also lost their soreness. I felt so sick last night that I could barely move and then today I just feel tired. My Dh has reminded me that in both previous pregnancies i was in tears several times because I thought my symptoms had gone and then I was back to moaning about feeling sick the next day. I think symptoms probably come in waves and are worst when tired. I’m fully aware that this pregnancy is very high risk for me though. Only 10 days until my scan!
@FlashesOfRage huge congratulations!
@Oldermum80 good luck on Tuesday. A lot of people are lucky and don’t get symptoms. Hopefully you’re one of them.

Wise0wl · 14/03/2020 10:22

Congratulations @FlashesOfRage ! I know three sets of twins - all a total surprise - and all mums and babies are doing brilliantly!

Meanwhile over here I am 5 weeks, sore boobs, tired and have woken up the last two nights to wee. It’s starting to sink in and I’m feeling more scared/excited and less shocked/overwhelmed which is good!

Hope everyone had nice weekend plans?

Oldermum80 · 14/03/2020 10:36

@ACatCalledLola hope so! I had awful sickness with my daughter where I couldn’t keep anything down. Spent most of my time with my head in the toilet lol.

Charliem11 · 14/03/2020 10:47

@Whoamieven I am in the same boat as you. Had miscarriage in October and now I think I'm due November 6th. Completely terrified. The only person that knows is my husband. Last time my family and friends knew. I don't want to hurt them again. Has anyone got any advice on getting through these few weeks until I get a scan?

bluebell94 · 14/03/2020 10:49

When would everyone suggest getting an early scan? I think I'm 5 weeks now and this is my first, I'm so anxious that I think I will drive myself mad waiting until 12 weeks. There's a place just down the road that I can go to from 6 weeks but I don't want to go too early if that makes sense. Do you think around 8-9 weeks is reasonable and would hopefully be reassuring? X
