@SMcG1 I am telling mine at 7 weeks, that's what I did last time. Your pregnancy rights don't apply if work doesn't know. Plus we're really quiet at the mo and it means they can't make me redundant unless they do the whole team. If you need adjustments, tell them asap.

@Devias I was reading this earlier www.rcog.org.uk/en/news/national-guidance-on-managing-coronavirus-infection-in-pregnancy-published/. Coronavirus doesn't cross the placenta. The biggest risk at the mo is a fever causing a miscarriage. Then the baby catching it when they're born.

I have not been feeling pregnant, just the occasional dizzy spell and of course the missed AF. Last time I didn't get sick till 6 weeks (which will be Monday), so I guess I should just enjoy it while it lasts.

HarrietM87 · 12/03/2020 19:18

I’m not telling work until I’ve had my appraisal and pay review. Obviously they’re not supposed to take it into account but they certainly will. There is v little transparency around pay and bonuses in my work and I’ve had an excellent year so should be in line for a really good result. It’s meant to happen in the next 4 weeks and I’ll tell them after that.

Whoamieven · 12/03/2020 19:19

5+6 today and have just thrown up. Ergh and do it begins!!
Anyone had hyperemesis gravidarum in previous pregnancies?
I had it both times, medication and hospitalisation a few times. Could really do without that given the whole corona issue!

Devias · 12/03/2020 19:26

@uisage yes that’s exactly what I’m worried about! God help us all!
@Whoamieven oh you had the mother of all morning sicknesses you poor thing! I now feel bad complaining😩thanks 😝

Devias · 12/03/2020 19:28

@HarrietM87 that’s what I did! Well my bonus was announced mid feb so it was easy, had I had my morning sickness then it would have been more difficult to hide. But I waited for the salary bump and then BAM! Maybe that’s why I’m stuck at the office when everyone else is working from home!🤨 getting their money worth

Hufflepuff1 · 12/03/2020 19:48

@HarrietM87 thank you I've had a read so I am normally on 150mcg and today I had 200mcg. I don't have any 25mcg so I will take an extra 50mcg every two days. I've booked a blood test for next week Thursday so I will probably get the results the following Monday when I'll have just hit 7 weeks. I hope that isn't too late!
I can't quite remember what happened in my previous pregnancy but I'm pretty sure I didn't change dose until a little bit later on when the consultant put me on 150/175mcg alternate days. I can check my Google time line actually it will tell me when I went to the hospital lol. Really paranoid now, thank you for the info!

HarrietM87 · 12/03/2020 20:01

@Hufflepuff1 I’m sure it’s not too late, but great that you’re on it now! I’m extra paranoid because I’ve had early losses for other reasons (immune issues) and in my last mc my TSH went over 6 so it’s clearly really affected by early pregnancy for me. I’m sure it varies lots between people though and your blood test will tell you more. Once you’re on the right dose you need to be checked every 4-6 weeks throughout pregnancy. I insisted on 4 weeks.

Rolly123 · 12/03/2020 20:07

Hello! I am 5+2 with my first baby and very excited about it!

I am not sure if it's some sort of hormonal response or pure excitement, but I have not managed to sleep through the night for about a week now. I'm tired but not managing to stay asleep. Anyone else the same?

Hufflepuff1 · 12/03/2020 20:12

@HarrietM87 yes that's how often iw as checked last time too, fingers crossed everything goes well for us all 🤞💜

NoseringGirl · 12/03/2020 21:21

@Rolly123 congratulations! I tend to find myself waking up very early and being unable to get back to sleep. It's between 5-6am at the moment but with my second son I remember waking up regular at about 4am and being wide awake. I think it's quite a common problem!

canthinkofaname · 12/03/2020 21:57

Hi! Got my BFP last Saturday! Last AF 9th feb so not even 5 weeks yet. Very nervous due to previously losses, switching between pure excitement and absolute terror. I feel like it's way to early to be having symptoms however my mouth is so so watery! It's very strange has anyone else had this? Does anyone else's symptoms come and go? Wishing you all well

@FireflyGirli meant to tag you in that photo x

GingerBubby · 13/03/2020 09:26

Hey 🤗 can I join in? Am 4wks today and due 20th Nov! I'm shocked as DH and I only did the deed ONCE as we had both been ill! Goes to show its not quantity but quality I guess! 🤷‍♀️

Natopp · 13/03/2020 10:16

Morning all!! I still can't believe it's real. Keep getting waves of excitement and disbelief!!

Im 5+1 today and have my first midwife appointment on Fri 3rd April where I'll be 8+1. Seems ages away!
Thinking about booking a private scan as not sure I can wait till 12 weeks for one!

Also is everyone taking a supplement? I'm still taking pregnacare pre conception but conscious I may need to change. Is it best until 12 weeks to just take folic acid plus vitamin d? There is so much info I'm struggling to find something conclusive. Are multivitamins like pregnacare worth it?

HarrietM87 · 13/03/2020 10:18

I’m taking pregnacare max plus extra vitamin D...it’s recommended by my doctor but I’m sure own brand ones are exactly the same!

canueve · 13/03/2020 10:34

@Devias I also work in Victoria, but I am lucky enough to work most days from home but keep wipes in the office to clean your desk each morning, phone, mobile, travel card.

I'll only tell my boss after 12+ weeks

@Hannah1996 congrats Hannah, same here, we are not telling anyone until 12 weeks and even so probably just his parents and will wait to 14-16 weeks for close friends and family. I'll have to wait to tell my mom as she cannot keep a secret and if I told her today, by tomorrow everyone would know Grin

ParisInTheSpringtime · 13/03/2020 10:40

I would like to tell my mum, as I don’t have anyone else I can talk to about it. But I don’t want to jinx it, and would have to tell her over the phone which doesn’t seem right somehow.

canueve · 13/03/2020 10:57

@Rolly123 I'm a bit of the opposite, easy to fall asleep, but waking up at 5am everyday. I am 6 weeks and today was the first day I've managed to fall back asleep for an extra 2 hours.

@NoseringGirl so glad to know I'm not alone

@canthinkofaname congrats!!!

canueve · 13/03/2020 11:04

@GingerBubby same here, we'd been trying for a long time and in February we only did it once as I wasn't feeling well and I guess it was the only time we needed.

@Natopp I am 6 weeks and have the appt on the same day as you, I am booking a private scan for 8 weeks as I won't be able to wait until then. I am not sure if the scan is on the same day, but i am assuming it is not... I switched mine from pre conception to Pregnacare, I'd do that now if I were you too. And make sure to eat folate foods too.

bluebell94 · 13/03/2020 11:05

I'm absolutely shattered on a night, nodding off on the sofa from about 7/8 and DH says I'm flat out as soon as my head hits the pillow. I'm nightshift all next week so let's see how I go there Confused
Also woke up feeling quite sicky this morning. Eased when I had my breakfast but keeps coming in waves, nothing too bad yet...

FireflyGirl · 13/03/2020 11:59

@BeMorePacific I see what you mean about the bottom one looking fainter, but not by much and it is still a good strong line. I reckon it was probably just more dilute urine due to you drinking more.

I had a chemical last year and my lines were never anywhere near that dark.

I'm struggling with sleep, both getting to sleep and waking up early. I've been awake just after 6 every day this week!

Still feel groggy when I wake up, and I'm pretty certain I have a cold coming on - I can feel it in my sinuses Sad

@Natopp you will be asked what supplements you are taking, and pregnacare contain the right things. Some people find pregnacare makes their MS symptoms worse, though. There are other brands. I use pregnacare, because I bulk-bought them when they were on offer, so they were the same price as own-brand.

Welcome @GingerBubby and @canthinkofaname 👋

ACatCalledLola · 13/03/2020 12:11

@BeMorePacific your lines are still very dark and you can also see that the control lines vary in each test which makes me wonder if some tests just differ a bit, even from the same brand. I had a chemical last year and the very faint line from one day had completely gone by the next. You definitely still have good lines.
I’m also struggling with exhaustion. I can’t keep my eyes open past 9 but then wake up really early and can’t get back to sleep. It doesn’t help that when I wake up I’m immediately try to see if I feel sick or my boobs hurt and I’m stressed if I can’t feel anything.

Emmagen · 13/03/2020 12:20

Bemore, I wouldn't worry about those tests, all are nice and strong and tests do vary.

I'm taking the seven seas pregnancy vitamins as I'm sure the pregnacare made my sickness worse last time so I'm convinced that they'd do the same this time even if it's mostly in my head. So far so good with the seven seas but it's still very early days.

burntpinky · 13/03/2020 12:53

Has anyone else got really bad headaches that paracetamol won’t shift?! I’m working from home today but feeling horrendous and can’t actually do an awful lot. Headaches, feeling wiped out and waves of sickness. Have sent DC off to nanas and husband has come home for lunch to check on me and I have demanded a dirty chicken burger as only that will do!
