Did anyone get their BFP recently? I got mine last night so I think I'm 4 weeks 1 day today and still very much in shock, according to apps my due date would be October 30th.

@Mc3209 I searched that for my first pregnancy and was very discouraged about getting one because of what you just said ...

KitKatKit · 26/03/2020 21:10

@Mc3209 A weekend of cartoons sounds fab@ I'm too scared to get a Doppler, esp as I haven't had a scan yet! I also hear you on the bloat. My belly button has begun to stretch out in a weird way, and no I dont think it's a multiple pregnancy, I just mainlined a lot of carbs and cheese for a few weeks and now have a tummy to show for it!

@MamaNaz20 the early evening tiredness is REAL. I am ready to go to sleep from about 7pm on the dot every day! DH has had to kindly encourage me to stay awake until 9pm ish, so that I stop waking up at 5.30am 😩

DressingGown87 · 26/03/2020 21:33

I always seem to slump at about 5pm, but then perk up again when I should be going to bed!

@1990shopefulftm yes doing that morning walk, will set you up for the day. Hopefully the vitamin D will stay positive.

I cried when everyone clapped tonight, my whole street went outside!

1990shopefulftm · 26/03/2020 22:18

@MamaNaz20 thank you :) sorry you ve been struggling , I feel like I ve been very lucky in that I ve just had to slow down a bit but I can still get stuff done in my day with some effort.

professorastrocat · 27/03/2020 08:20

I'm with you @MamaNaz20 i cannot wait for the second trimester and fingers crossed feeling a lot better. It's really hard to do this lockdown thing well with a four year old whilst also always feeling sick and tired. I'm reminding myself how lucky I am to have the baby coming and at least I feel crap for a happy reason.

Do we think the logic will be that 2nd trimester is less risk aswell?

@KitKatKit I have a proper tummy, I kinda did anyway and have the kind of frame where any fat just goes straight there but now after weeks of carbs it's huge!

KitKatKit · 27/03/2020 08:39

@professorastrocat That makes me feel better that it's not just me! Oh well, if carb loading is what got us through, so be it!

Happy Friday everyone, hope the sun is shining wherever you are 🔆

1990shopefulftm · 27/03/2020 09:02

Rang my GP and apparently my booking appointment on Thursday is still going ahead but they ve said to call and double check on Wednesday. My gp is on a bus route but I m wondering whether to tell my manager I ll need a bit more time so that I can walk there rather than risk public transport or a taxi.

Hello lovelies! I'm a bit late to the party but is it ok if I join in?

Hoping to get some reassurance to stay sane during this crazy time...I'm 9 weeks 4 days and since Monday or Tuesday, I feel as though I'm practically back to normal. Still a bit fatigued (but who isn't anyway what with the news, work anxiety and all the rest!) but nausea seems to have disappeared and my boobs aren't really sore. I don't have that bloated feeling either. Has anyone else felt a significant reduction in symptoms this week?

I am trying not to panic as I keep reading this can be fairly normal, but I've never had my symptoms disappear for longer than a day or two. Also, I had some very light spotting 7 weeks 3 + 4 days and had an early reassurance scan which was inconclusive and the little bean and heartbeat was fluttering away so surely that's a good thing!? I think I'm basically a bit terrified about a MMC after all the panic and worry so far, so was hoping someone else has gone through similar and can relate?

Finally, one of my best friends is a midwife but I haven't told the girls in my group chat yet that I'm pregnant so I keep getting daily updates about what Covid-19 is doing to the antenatal care in this country which isn't helping my mental state!!

Thanks guys, hope you're all keeping well today. x

1990shopefulftm · 27/03/2020 12:38

@Freddie1987, if they saw a heartbeat and didn't find anything that they were worried about then that's definetly a good thing.

I'm 9 weeks and my tiredness is easing off, I've never had nausea or morning sickness, I've got a lot of bloating still but i m not worried as they told me everything looked perfect at my early scan and that the chances of something happening are quite low.

How do you feel about telling your friend? we've told a fair few people with what's going on and it's helped my anxieties a bit. Definitely consider muting the chat and only checking it every so often.

Danielle95lab · 27/03/2020 15:10

@Freddie1987 aw I'm the same! All I think about is MMC, I'm an absolute loon throughout this pregnancy😂 but everything you've said sounds normal.

I've not had any morning sickness etc. But I had really bad fatigue and that seems to have subsided now I'm 9 weeks 3 days. I'm paranoid cause I haven't been sick, so I feel you. I feel really normal too. I had a scan around the same time you did for reassurance. You seen a heart beat to that's a brilliant and positive sign.

We're all in the same boat waiting for that 12 week mark, but you can talk to us whenever you want for reassurance. I'm sure everything's okay with your little bean :) xxx

Freddie1987 · 27/03/2020 15:42

@1990shopefulftm thank you, it's interesting to see how little symptoms others have had and it all be perfectly fine. I'm realising more and more how many women end up getting early scans to ease the anxiety. 12 weeks feels painfully slow doesn't it, especially after all the waiting around to see if you're actually pregnant in the first place every month of trying!

I desperately want to tell my friend, she's one of my besties as are the other girls in the group. The only thing that's holding me back is that one of them has recently had an awful experience where she had to have a late termination at 16 weeks because she found out her baby had Trisomy 13 Sad So I feel a bit sensitive to the fact that I'm announcing it in the first place, let alone posting about all my worries and anxieties on the group. I think you're right though, I've had to tell a few people now because of the bleeding and having time off, including a colleague who's nearly 20 weeks pregnant and she's been lovely and supportive which has helped.

@Danielle95lab oh wow, we must have pretty much the same EDD then if you're 9 weeks 3 days! Grin Yep, my 'loon side' is fully out this week haha. I think if you haven't had any morning sickness so far then I wouldn't think it was worrying it still hasn't arrived, you can count yourself as one of the lucky ones I guess...but I know that doesn't help. You almost want to have at least one symptom a day to keep yourself from Googling every 10 mins don't you?

Have you guys had your letter/text from midwife about a dating scan appointment yet?

Danielle95lab · 27/03/2020 15:47

@Freddie1987 yeah we will be due around the same time! I get nausea so I'm not too concerned. But like I said around now your symptoms start to lessen. However still totally with you, it's not comforting and you're just paranoid 😂 you started to show yet?

Yeah I got my letter last week, dating scan is on the 15th April! Counting down the days and hours 🙄😂xxx

1990shopefulftm · 27/03/2020 16:39

@Freddie1987, I feel very lucky as i got pregnant after 3 months so although I got a private scan I've otherwise tried to be patient and my symptoms have been reasonably manageable, i just live life a bit slower at the moment.

you clearly care that you don't want your announcement to upset your friend, maybe tell her alone so she can process it separately if she needs to.

I've been fielding questions about when I am planning to take mat leave from all sides today, including HR. I've ran out of polite ways of saying I don't want to or have to talk about it at this stage! Exasperated. I just want to get through 1st trimester first.

DressingGown87 · 27/03/2020 18:30

@Mc3209 doesn’t seem right that they are asking questions at this early stage. I’m not surprised your patience is wearing thin.

@1990shopefulftm I would walk to your appointment if you can, and just take that extra time to get there.

@professorastrocat @kitkit I also have the bloat bump! 🙈 or chocolate and carbs 😂

@Freddie1987 congratulations and welcome. I’ve had a few early scans, and all it’s been is a “blob” and flicker, not much to see at this stage. I also don’t have symptoms apart from bloating, some fatigue, and bruising from my injections. If I hadn’t had the scans, I would think I’m dreaming or going insane.

I’ve had 7MMC so understand your worry, just try and stay positive. Everyone has different symptoms, and like PP said, you’ve seen the heartbeat, so hold on to that positive.

I’ve told people too, close friends, and it’s help my anxiety, especially in the current economic climate. From someone who has lost before, it is always hard when someone breaks their news, but it’s life, and you are happy for them. It’s better coming from you, and separate IMO too. It will be hard, just give her the time to process it, and I’m sure she will be delighted and supportive.

professorastrocat · 28/03/2020 07:37

Morning all, @Mc3209 I wonder why they are so keen to know at this stage of things.

I've had my scan date through for 16th April - by my reckoning I'll be 13+2. Was hoping for a bit earlier....
Maybe a few of us will be having scans that same week??

Welcome @Freddie1987 and happy birthday @roarfeckingroar

😊

Mc3209 · 28/03/2020 08:22

@roarfeckingroar happy birthday! I hope you have a fun day where you get all you wished for!

@professorastrocat I suspect it's because they want to make sure there is someone to replace me whilst I am out of business for a year, and in our neck of the woods recruitment is not the easiest. However I hope I managed to close that conversation until the timing is more appropriate. Was planning on giving a relatively early notice anyway, but one can't even get a MatB1 form until 24 weeks so they are really jumping the gun.

I will be having a scan+Harmony screen on 13th of April (I will be 11+3). My NHS '12 week' scan is not until 1st of May which will out me at nearly 14 weeks, so I am crossing everything that can be crossed that Harmony screen goes ahead as planned in these times. 2 weeks to go.

@DressingGown87 how are you feeling? When is your next scan due?

How is everyone doing?

KitKatKit · 28/03/2020 09:38

@roarfeckingroar Happy Birthday! Hope you have a fab day 🎉

@professorastrocat my scan is on 8th April when I will be 12 weeks exactly ( I think but obvs subject to change).

@Freddie1987 Welcome welcome!

@Mc3209 it does sound like your work are asking questions way too early! I think my standard response of smiling sweetly and saying "I haven't got there yet" would be on repeat!

professorastrocat · 28/03/2020 09:42

We must be very close in dates then @KitKatKit I have a current edd of 20th

KitKatKit · 28/03/2020 09:55

@professorastrocat Yes, mine is 21st Oct! I'm kind of in semi denial still, think I need to see a heartbeat and then I'll accept it's actually happening! I'm a bit sad at the prospect of DH not being able to come to the scan, but in the grand scheme of things it's really not that big of a deal.

AdventureAhead · 28/03/2020 10:16

@roarfeckingroar A very happy birthday to you! Cake I hope you get a caterpillar cake and a nice walk in the sunshine.

My scan is on 17th April by which time I think I'll be 12+5. We looked in to private scans but it felt too much of a risk in the current conditions (I'm high risk for corona without being pregnant and couldn't really justify it as "essential") so we're waiting for the bus one but oh my gosh it feels a long wait. I've felt really tired this week which has almost been welcome because it's one of the few times i've had symptoms I've had throughout the whole thing. Looking forward to reassurance from a scan.

professorastrocat · 28/03/2020 10:46

I cannot wait now @AdventureAhead and I still have 3 weeks to go as it's quite a late scan. I will worry about things not being well until I see that heartbeat, despite having constant symptoms. It's hard as we've not done any private scans or anything.

@KitKatKit we'll have to ask to do a little video of the scan for them!

roarfeckingroar · 28/03/2020 11:12

Thanks guys! DP brought me breakfast in bed of chocolate cake with berries and a small glass of champagne. We had planned to be in Italy but I'm just as happy being healthy and feeling loved here.

Welcome to everyone new! It's properly sunk in now for me. I have my scan next Thursday when I'll be 12+2 and can't wait.

roarfeckingroar · 28/03/2020 11:36

What's a harmony screen ?

Flora20 · 28/03/2020 11:40

@roarfeckingroar happy birthday! Sounds a lovely start to the day!

I've had a week now without getting nauseous and no real food aversions anymore, so hoping that's it now - last time was similar in timing and I felt great the rest of the legacy so fingers crossed! Still going to bed by 8 but hey 😁

Not too long left in first tri now everyone...
