Did anyone get their BFP recently? I got mine last night so I think I'm 4 weeks 1 day today and still very much in shock, according to apps my due date would be October 30th.

@DressingGown87 A bit better, not set up at home yet but today's my last day in before 4 days off which I m very glad to have. I m hoping there's still chocolate cake left but will have to see what DH can get.
If the rice Krispies texture seems fine, I m sure it ll work.
Sports drinks, the ones with no caffeine in might help the dizziness, they used to help me when I had an issue with it.
@Applesandlemons keeping my fingers crossed
@roarfeckingroar just got to make the best of a very bad situation, could you get some stuff in for a nice pregnancy safe dinner?

Hi everyone 👋 Can I join?
I'm 9 weeks pregnant and due 29/10/20
DS is a year old in a couple of weeks so we will have 2 under 2 🤣 It took almost to years to have DS with a miscarriage in between, so to be pregnant so quickly is a dream come true ❤️

KitKatKit · 25/03/2020 09:51

@DressingGown87 Thank you, holiday was lovely but we came home slightly earlier (happy to!). Thanks for reassuring about symptoms disappearing. Rice crispie cakes sound like a plan, enjoy!

@roarfeckingroar and @1990shopefulftm the shops seem better stocked this week, so hoping you're both able to get some decent dinner and cake provisions!

@Mc3209 my own perfume and my DHs fragrance have made me want to heave for about a month now. Thankfully he's not going into an office anymore, but when he was, he'd spray it and then realise his mistake (wally).

KitKatKit · 25/03/2020 09:53

@mamavee Welcome! Sorry to hear about your MC but wishing you well in this pregnancy :)

mamavee · 25/03/2020 10:09

Thanks @KitKatKit ❤️ All good - we wouldn't have DS if it hadn't happened, so it all feels like it happened for a reason.

Has any be had their midwife booking in appointment yet? I haven't heard anything yet; but resisting temptation to contact them as it must be so stressful at the moment with everything going on.

Mc3209 · 25/03/2020 11:13

@mamavee I had my booking already. It all appears to be very geographically variable - in my area I booked in at just over 4 weeks. If you don't hear from them in a week, get in touch see what they say.

WaveStreet · 25/03/2020 11:48

@mamavee I'm also 9 weeks and haven't heard anything about booking in appt yet but have had my blood test done and a scan appointment through so like you am resisting the urge to chase given the current situation. Hope you hear something soon.

professorastrocat · 25/03/2020 12:07

Welcome @mamavee and congrats!

Glad everyone is feeling ok - I have a feeling that booking apt and further midwife apts may be done on the phone from now. I had mine on Monday just before the lockdown announcement. Bloods may be done at scans if not already done and urine tests posted through GP doors 🥴

I have felt nauseous (with some sickness) for 5 weeks constantly now 😭 I had no symptoms like that with my first so it all varies so as others have said don't worry about symptoms or no symptoms.

My DS is 4.5 - who else is having their second/third etc?

Jaffas22 · 25/03/2020 13:16

I have had my booking appointment this morning over the phone (I am 9 weeks today) they have gave me an appointment at the hospital tomorrow for bloods, urine sample & to collect my notes.

I know they are doing their best but I don’t feel very well supported or informed about any of this 😞

KitKatKit · 25/03/2020 14:04

@jaffas22 Hang in there. It's an unsettling time for you, even without a global pandemic happening! I think once you get your notes and all the literature that they'll give you tomorrow, you'll feel a bit better.
And remember, we have this sounding board for when we're all feeling a bit shit! :)

Mc3209 · 25/03/2020 14:22

@Jaffas22 For me, it made a big difference on reassurance front once I received all emergency numbers I can call if needed. Just the fact of knowing who my midwife is, who do I need to call if I have a problem, stuff like that. It does make you feel more supported.
And I second @KitKatKit, here is an awesome place to moan when you need to!

WhatWouldPennyDo · 25/03/2020 14:24

Hello, first timer here after many years of trying, and a couple of failed ivf rounds. Due on 21/10, although this might change at 12 week scan.

Have had my booking appointment, two private scans and blood test for combined screening happening next week.

Nice to meet you all!

professorastrocat · 25/03/2020 14:36

I saw someone different to who is 'my midwife' for my first appointment as she is currently in isolation! Would be nice to see/ be in touch someone consistent this time as with my first I had about 4 different mw antenatally. I think things have improved on that front in the last 5 years but current circumstances will probably affect it.

@Mc3209 you're right it's definitely good to have all the numbers you may need. There's always someone you can speak to.

roarfeckingroar · 25/03/2020 14:42

@professorastrocat @Mc3209 this is why I'm having a doula - some continuity of care

professorastrocat · 25/03/2020 15:02

@roarfeckingroar seriously thinking about this (I was before this all kicked off anyway). A same face to support you.

1990shopefulftm · 25/03/2020 19:40

@Jaffas22 my booking appointment is in a week but no idea if it's still in person , I live half a mile from the hospital but my appointment is at my GP which is further so I m thinking they might offer me a phone one.
I m working from home on Monday after 4 days off and spoken to my manager today and they re happy for me to just drop them a message and taking me off the phone lines to go to appointments so it ll be easier in a way.

I am watching 24/7 Maternity Ward, sobbing seeing all the babies being born.

Jaffas22 · 25/03/2020 20:07

@1990shopefulftm mine was supposed to be at the GP, when I went to my early bird appointment they said if the surgeries close the midwife will do a home visit, but then she just called me instead. It was a terrible line and she seemed really grumpy when I kept asking her to repeat what she was asking me 😕 not the best way to built a rapport with someone who is going to be caring for you throughout your pregnancy but hey ho, just got to hope things get better.

Fingers crossed you will see somebody in person!

1990shopefulftm · 25/03/2020 20:19

@Jaffas22 It's not good that they came across as grumpy.
I m hoping I'll be classified as low risk so if it's a phone appointment I don't mind too much if they can run the blood tests at some point somehow.
I'm going to ring the antenatal clinic on Friday and see what they say, they've already posted me my notes so i could email it over before the appointment as i ve started filling them in if its going to be over the phone which should make things easier.

Hello all I haven't been here for a while so had a fast read of the previous posts
@professorastrocat I have a 5.5 yrs old and this would be my second

After my scan and my worries about the size, nothing happened since , so I am thinking if it was bad news I would be bleeding and my constant tiredness would have gone; so I am keeping positive

My booking appointment next week is via telephone. which is understandable

I will be 9.5 weeks by then ...

How is every one ?
Working from home has not been as easy as I thought to be honest - yes there is no commute but the tiredness is still there and then some housework now we are not eating out and a 5 years old together with the workload not having reduced yet - not easy...

MamaNaz20 · 25/03/2020 20:25

@mamavee welcome
I would call them; Did you self refer or did you ask your gp? I asked my GP and never received anything then I called the antenatal unit of my hospital (2weeks ago) and they said they never got any referral and I should self refer
Once I done it I got the appointment letter within 48 hours or so

MamaNaz20 · 25/03/2020 20:26

Does anybody worry about the potential lack of medical facility and help when it will be our delivery time ?

DressingGown87 · 25/03/2020 20:32

@roarfeckingroar and @1990shopefulftm didn’t get round to the cake today, baked sausage rolls instead! So I will test the crunchiness of my crispis tomorrow 😂 hope you both manage to have a great birthday! And get cake!

@KitKatKit aww well I’m glad your home safe! And back in your home comfort for the forseable!

@WhatWouldPennyDo and @mamavee congratulations and welcome!

I had my booking appointment last week in person, and bloods taken. I was 8/9 weeks and high risk, so it was in person. I’ve called them today about a prescription for my injections, as they only gave me 14days to see how I got on. But not heard back yet.

@1990shopefulftm my friend who’s 36weeks and another who is 8weeks, have been told that all midwife appointments have moved from GP surgeries to hospitals or phone. But they are classed as Wyre, so been given either RLI or BV. They should hopefully let you know.

I did PE with joe Wickes this morning 😂

DressingGown87 · 25/03/2020 20:35

@MamaNaz20 I’m hoping by October things have settled down, and there is control over the situation. My friends who are due to give birth in April, are in a state, as they are worried they are giving birth in the height. But it seems most maternity units are keeping things running as normal as possible, with the exception of limited visitors and people attending appointments.

When I called my midwife today. They said she was off sick, which worried me, as I only saw her last week! Left a voicemail with another one.

1990shopefulftm · 25/03/2020 20:39

@DressingGown87
DH managed to get us everything for a steak dinner and a caterpillar cake tomorrow ( i m turning 25 and that cake will make me feel young :P) ooh fresh sausage rolls sound great.
I'll call them on friday anyway to see what they say, can always get the bloods part done at the hospital clinic if they can do the paperwork that way if the booking appointment needs to be over the phone.
