Did anyone get their BFP recently? I got mine last night so I think I'm 4 weeks 1 day today and still very much in shock, according to apps my due date would be October 30th.

Hi @dom84 sorry to hear you're struggling. I've not had much luck with food in the last few weeks and am 8 weeks today (I think).
I've been eating a lot of plain crackers, small bits of cheddar, sliced up Granny Smith apples (the sour taste helps).
I've dropped my daily cup of tea (can't stomach it), and am trying to just eat beige food every so often.

I've also been dropping a slice of lemon into my glass of water, as i've suddenly gone off the taste of water!

Hope you're able to get through this difficult time x

Dom84 · 11/03/2020 11:51

Hi kitkatkit

Thank you so much for you reply. I will try these out. Like you I have gone off tea and water.
Hopefully it all sides soon 😬

Hi all!

Recently found out I’m pregnant after trying for over a year. I’m roughly 7 weeks today based on an early scan I had to have due to abdominal pain. I’m so excited but also totally nervous for the next few weeks. Main symptoms at the moment are constant tiredness and hunger. I did not think I’d be this hungry so soon! Is it normal not to feel sick yet (other than with hunger?!)

Thanks!

sunbreak · 11/03/2020 12:42

@BB1Oct2020 congratulations and welcome! Since we found out that I'm pregnant I've tried to change my eating habits and be healthier but have found that when I'm hungry I'm starving and get nauseous. I try to have something on my at all times. When I get to work now I carry tubs and tubs of food - salad, porridge, carrot sticks, nuts and that's on top of my lunch and apples etc.
I'm glad I don't have the bad nausea some of the girls on here have but mine definitely gets much worse when I'm hungry.
Also, I've been day dreaming of naps and have been going to bed very early as I'm totally wiped out all day. So I think your symptoms are all normal 😊

BB1Oct2020 · 11/03/2020 12:53

Thank you @sunbreak! I need to get better prepared with healthy snacks for when the hunger pains hit. And I’m with you on the naps - I sit at my desk daydreaming about somewhere to curl up for a snooze!

MamaNaz20 · 11/03/2020 13:29

@roarfeckingroar was it you who was doing body pumping ? I am walked my DS to school (WFH today) and when I got back home I felt so tired ! I can't believe you could go to such intensive classes still
Pat yourself on the back

I have mild nausea and am tired but other than that all good!

DressingGown87 · 11/03/2020 13:29

Had my appointment. They have put me on daily injections, as I predicted. They said I should have had these in all my pregnancies, and on my previous notes they can see that, but obviously never gave me appointments in time. Now to find my strength to get over my phobia of needles. I met my consultant, 2 midwifes, and counsellor. Scan tonight, and another test, booking appointment, and consultation next Wednesday! They said it will be about 3-5hours! It was 3 this morning. So really need to tell work!

@Dom84 And @bb1oct2020 welcome! I agree with the tiredness and dry mouth!

MamaNaz20 · 11/03/2020 13:55

Oh @DressingGown87 and the secretary thought you shouldn't have an appointment before ten weeks ?

I have called the antenatal clinic today as I haven't heard back from them for a long time and it appears the GP I went to forgot to refer me to the clinic ! Now is that shocking or what ?? They had nothing on me! So they asked me to self refer !

DressingGown87 · 11/03/2020 14:38

@MamaNaz20 what a nightmare! Can’t believe they didn’t do it, hopefully your self assessment will be processed quickly.

Yes she said 10 weeks is standard, so glad I got seen beforehand. X

Danielle95lab · 11/03/2020 16:40

Just had my booking appointment ladies. Made me feel so much better! Low-risk pregnancy thankfully. Answered all my queries and it's so relieving so have someone to actually call now instead of panicking.

For all those who haven't got morning sickness, my midwife said it's really common and most people actually DON'T feel pregnant at this stage. So don't worry if symptoms are coming and going.

Reassurance scan tonight 🤞🏻🤞🏻 it's all getting real now xxx

1990shopefulftm · 11/03/2020 17:04

@Danielle95lab that's reassuring. I've not had morning sickness yet, so been wondering if it meant anything.

Danielle95lab · 11/03/2020 17:06

@1990shopefulftm yeah she said they usually tell those with morning sickness it's a good sign to make them feel a bit better about how awful it's feels 😂 but it really doesn't make any different so don't worry. She wasn't concerned in the slightest about me and I've only had minor symptoms xxx

1990shopefulftm · 11/03/2020 17:18

@Danielle95lab It's my 1st baby and I'd always thought morning sickness was a given so I've been surprised that I've had none at all so far.

I just feel tired and have a stomach that's so bloated I already look pregnant. I've got a private scan a week Saturday anyway as my booking appointment at exactly 10 weeks so was worried my nhs scan will end up being passed 12 weeks.

@DressingGown87
Is it the prick of the needles that bothers you? if it is you could check if numbing cream is safe to use for the first few doses so it doesn't feel as bad.

keep finding things I think I'd like to get in the way of maternity clothes or things for baby then reminding myself that when we do start buying in 2/3 months that we're supposed to be sticking to a budget. I get why there's so much marketing to parents now.

OP posts:
roarfeckingroar · 11/03/2020 17:41

@MamaNaz20 yup! I'm in the gym / pool most days and still walking about 5-10 miles a day, I would go absolutely nuts if I didn't BUT do what feels right. I'm also in bed 8.30 every evening.

@DressingGown87 that does not sound fun at all. Did everything else go well?

Thanks @Danielle95lab that's good to know. I was getting a bit worried about my nausea fading.

I met a doula this afternoon and she was amazing, I think she's the one I would like to go through this with.

BS9790 · 11/03/2020 17:42

Got a call from my midwife today, got my first appointment on Tuesday at 7 weeks & 3 days. I always thought they were between 8 and 10 weeks!
Will the midwife then refer me for my dating scan?

KitKatKit · 11/03/2020 19:15

Hey everyone, had my booking in today! Also down as low risk (for now), crossing my fingers it stays that way too.
Got given a bunch of paperwork and had to write my details at the top of what seemed like 1000 pages!

Now I'm just sitting tight until the letter for the dating scan comes through Hmm

roarfeckingroar · 11/03/2020 19:48

My dating scan isn't until 21 April, hence private one on Thursday, I'm so nervous there won't be a heartbeat. First with midwife is 1 April. V nervous until Friday.

KitKatKit · 11/03/2020 19:54

Hang in there @roarfeckingroar Sending you all the good vibes for the scan Flowers

roarfeckingroar · 11/03/2020 20:29

Thanks @KitKatKit xx

Danielle95lab · 11/03/2020 20:30

Saw my little bean, I actually sobbed with happiness. Measuring spot on and heartbeat was perfect! Best thing I ever did that early scan.

Totally recommend for those who haven't already booked one xxx

Frankincense88 · 11/03/2020 20:42

@Danielle95lab ah that is so exciting! So pleased. Mine is a week tomorrow and just praying until then that everything is ok! Xx

Danielle95lab · 11/03/2020 20:47

@Frankincense88 aw honestly it will be the best thing you've done. I actually feel like I can be excited now 😂 had to have the internal scan though which was a little uncomfortable but worth every moment xxx

Jaffas22 · 11/03/2020 20:49

@Danielle95lab aww how lovely! Sounds like you’ve had a really reassuring day with midwife and then scan!! How far are you again?
