Did anyone get their BFP recently? I got mine last night so I think I'm 4 weeks 1 day today and still very much in shock, according to apps my due date would be October 30th.

@Frankincense88 do your colleagues know you're expecting ?

poppetmoran · 10/03/2020 13:35

Hi guys!

Been MIA just trying my best to relax and carry on with life as normal.
Tiredness is the thing I'm struggling with.... nausea coming and going but coping ok with that...
emotional really hit home the past couple of days... been crying for no reason! Lol!
Have finally started to relax but back to being an anxious Annie again as I have had some
Brown spotting over the past couple of days...
I know this can be normal but just looking for some reassurance.
Might be tmi but had sex with my husband for the first time couple of days ago since finding out as I've been nervous and cautious and had a little brown spotting yesterday and then more little amounts today! Do you think that's normal and ok?? Or should I get some advice!

Thanks in advice ladies! Hope everyone else is doing well!!

Applesandlemons · 10/03/2020 14:00

@MamaNaz20 I really know what you’re going through I also work in the city on a long commute. Love my job but have been off for 4 days just was spending my days at work sat on the floor of the disabled loo trying not to cry. I’m now working half days from home trying to build up to getting back in. The GP gave me anti-emetics but they don’t do much to be honest. Feel so guilty about it all.

Frankincense88 · 10/03/2020 17:36

@roarfeckingroar only my Head of Department. Haven't told anyone else!

MamaNaz20 · 10/03/2020 18:30

@roarfeckingroar I was thinking of the badge yesterday ... but I want to wait until I tell work before getting one - have a phobia of leaving it on and walking to work with it not having told work yet

@Applesandlemons oh I am glad somebody gets exactly what I am saying but I am so sorry you have been feeling like that - sitting on Disabled toilet floor doesn't sound fun to say the least - I am glad you decided to work from home more often.
I also get feeling guilty completely but I have kept thinking to myself I am growing a baby- this should be the priority no matter what ... and if somebody doesn't appreciate it then too bad for them! Hope feeling guilty will subside soon

I have no major morning sickness yet but I have been steadily feeling worse since a week ago - I can see how it can become a hell by the time I am eight weeks ...

I haven't booked a scan yet. I may try to get one booked tomorrow for the next couple of weeks - I am thinking of sharing the news with my work sooner this time but don't feel like telling them before I am somehow checked for the health of the baby/ pregnancy

I still haven't heard from antenatal team so I think I may go through self- referral route now

DressingGown87 · 10/03/2020 18:37

Sorry to hear a few of you are suffering with nausea! I dreamt (or maybe it’s reality) that I woke up with sickness last night. These crazy dreams are something else. Anyone got Indegestion and heartburn? No matter what I eat, when I eat, or how I eat... it gradually gets worse throughout the day. I didn’t think it was normal in early pregnancy!

@poppetmoran I think spotting is quite common after sex, so I’ve seen on other threads. Hope your ok?

I saw the father of my child today! 🤦🏽‍♀️ Bumped into him in the supermarket, considering he is not from my area, I don’t know why he was there. Said with a lovely smirk on his face... alright! Nothing else. 😭

Consultant and scan tomorrow... so already an agitated / hormonal mess.

Applesandlemons · 10/03/2020 18:46

@MamaNaz20 your comments really cheered me up! You’re so right, sometimes it’s hard to believe that we’re growing a little human and we need to prioritise it. I think it’s because it really doesn’t feel real yet - I’m going for a private scan on in a week or so so maybe that will help me feel more settled.

poppetmoran · 10/03/2020 18:55

Thank you @DressingGown87!
I spoke to my midwife and she reassured me - she said a small amount of brown blood is fine I should only get concerned if it's fresh red blood.
So feeling a bit better about it!

And yes! I have had indigestion on and off - feeling very gassy and bloated a lot!
Never had heartburn in my life - but waiting on it starting... lol!

Hope you're ok after your encounter... does he know about your pregnancy?

Helly88 · 10/03/2020 19:03

Evening! - not been on here much recently as been feeling a bit worried about my upcoming scan following a bleed at 6 weeks and then sac shape abnormally at the scan - but had follow up scan today and saw baby with heartbeat & sac seems to have corrected its self - I was measuring at 8 weeks which is what I thought I should be. Last time they put me about a week behind! Anyway Massive relief!!! Now just another 7 months to get through 🙈

Last 2 weeks I have been feeling unbelievably tired which I saw several of you are too...hope this eases around 12 weeks as I'm only just about functioning with work and not much else at the moment! 😴

1990shopefulftm · 10/03/2020 19:15

@DressingGown87, I get a small amount of indigestion sometimes after big meals but it sorts itself out quite quickly if it gets worse I might give Gaviscon a go.

I'm bloated pretty much 24/7 now, food doesn't make a major difference to it. I m wondering if i m going to end in needing maternity clothes because of it before 12 weeks.

Hope your appointment goes well tomorrow :)

roarfeckingroar · 10/03/2020 19:24

@MamaNaz20 I understand, I take it off before I leave the tube station religiously.

@DressingGown87 good luck tomorrow lovely and bugger him, preferably with a sharpened marrow Grin. I can't remember what you said - does he know you're pregnant?

DressingGown87 · 10/03/2020 20:14

@Helly88 great news about your scan!

@1990shopefulftm I went to get some Gaviscon today, but they advised me that until I’ve seen my consultant tomorrow to hold off. At least it’s only another 15hours!!

@poppetmoran glad you got some reassurance! I can understand your worry. They usually say unless it’s fresh blood and heavy it’s nothing to worry about, but always better to ask for piece of mind.

@roarfeckingroar yes he knows. He said as far as he is concerned there is no pregnancy, and some nasty comment about hoping history repeats itself. So his smirk irritated me. Just hope he stays away, or he will be getting “marrowed”

Helly88 · 10/03/2020 20:21

Thanks @DressingGown87 ☺️

Ps have you tried Trebor extra strong mints for indigestion? They work for me when haven't got any gaviscon! 👍

1990shopefulftm · 10/03/2020 20:21

@DressingGown87 I m sure the consultant will suggest something good for indigestion that will work with the aspirin.

Hi everyone!

Just came across this thread.

I am approx 7 weeks (tomorrow) due around 28th Oct.

Just looking for some advice. I was cautious of booking an early scan but my partner works away mon-fri and really wanted to be with me when we had our first scan, so talked me into booking one. It’s booked for this Sunday 7+4. However iv been having pink spotting for a few days, this appeared to get worse this morning so I rang my Early Pregnancy Assessment Centre at the hospital. They said they wouldn’t scan me until I was 8 weeks so booked an early scan a week tomorrow. I should of told them about my private scan but I was in such a panic. Should I go to both? Or ring them back and explain. My head really is all over at the moment

Piglet11 · 10/03/2020 21:29

Hi everyone. I have been reading your stories for a little while now but didn’t want to comment until my situation was better. I had a fet and very luckily fell pregnant. I should be 7 weeks tomorrow. Over the last 10days I have been going from spotting-filling several pads with gushes of red blood and clots. I was convinced it was over, so much so that the torture was driving me crazy. My clinic for very concerned so took me for a scan yesterday. They could not see a reason for the bleed but they did see not one but two heart beats! Just trying to make anyone who is spotting/bleeding that it seems to be a lot more common than google would suggest.

KitKatKit · 10/03/2020 21:32

@piglet11 How brilliant! CONGRATULATIONS and welcome. No advice per se, but wanted to wish you well Grin

Helly88 · 10/03/2020 21:34

Hi & Welcome @Jaffas22

I had a similar experience in that I had a private scan booked for 7 weeks but had a bleed at 6 weeks - guess every county is different but my local EPAU did an internal scan at 6 weeks to check how things were. I postponed my private scan and have rebooked for a couple of weeks time now that I've been checked for 2nd time by EPAU.

Best of luck Hope all is ok

Helly88 · 10/03/2020 21:39

Hi @Piglet11

What an awful and stressful thing to go through but with some amazing news at the end! Did you have any suspicions you were carrying twins? Bleeds are so worrying but sometimes google just isn't your friend! I had to step away from these forums recently after a scare!

roarfeckingroar · 10/03/2020 21:47

@DressingGown87 what an absolute c*nt. don't put him on birth certificate.

Congrats @Jaffas22 and @Piglet11 wow twins!! Did you have any idea? What a journey.

DressingGown87 · 10/03/2020 22:13

@roarfeckingroar I’m not going to!

@Piglet11 wow!! Congratulations, I’m glad you’ve got that reassurance! I had twin step sons, and their bond was amazing, it was so lovely to experience! Even if they did argue.

@Jaffas22 I don’t seem any harm in attending both, especially if your partner gets to be with you at the private scan. If your worried, and he can attend the EPAU one, I would ring the private scan place I reschedule for in a few weeks. Xx

DressingGown87 · 10/03/2020 22:14

@Helly88 no I’ve no tried mints, will pick some up tomorrow! Thank you.

@1990shopefulftm thank you! Hopefully they will just give me a confirmed list of dos and don’ts!

Jaffas22 · 11/03/2020 06:00

@Helly88 thankyou for your advice, so good to see other people have been through the same and still continue to have healthy pregnancies.

@DressingGown87 thankyou, yes my partner would only be able to attend the private one. So I feel I still want to go to that one so he is with me. Just didn’t know if it was unwise to have 2 so close together. It’s so difficult. He already feels like he is missing out and iv not actually been to any appointments yet!!

Piglet11 · 11/03/2020 07:16

Thank you everyone it had been such a rollercoaster ride!

@Helly88 to be honest I would have thought it to good to be true so I wouldn’t really let myself think that way however I did feel very nauseous at 5 weeks at at 6 weeks my hcg levels were over 53000. I also have been feeling stretching really early on.

@DressingGown87 aww that’s lovely! It’s still super early days so I am trying to not get carried away but if all goes well I feel like I will be the luckiest person in the world!

@KitKatKit thank you :)

Huge congratulations to everyone on this page!

Hi all

I am new to this and 7 weeks and 3days pregnant. Due 26th Oct. Really struggling with feeling sick all day no matter what I eat. I wake up on a night feeling sick , stomachs and hungry. Nothing is helping. Wake up with a dry mouth. Trying to eat and drink more but don't fancy any food. Just eat as I need too. Is anything working for you?

Thank you
