Did anyone get their BFP recently? I got mine last night so I think I'm 4 weeks 1 day today and still very much in shock, according to apps my due date would be October 30th.

Evening ladies. Catching up after work again! With you all feeling exhausted and getting the early nights! Can't wait to hit the pillow later!

Frankincense88 · 09/03/2020 19:15

@ablisha with you on the exhausted front! Just having a bath and going to get straight into bed after. Don't think I'll be staying up to watch 'Liar' after all 😂

DressingGown87 · 09/03/2020 19:17

@ablisha @Frankincense88 I know I’m trying to find the energy to cook some tea! Forgot liar was on tonight!!

1990shopefulftm · 09/03/2020 19:27

@DressingGown87 I got my booking appointment a week after I referred myself but otherwise I ve only rang the anti-natal clinic once to try to change my booking appointment but they were fully booked, the gentleman that answered the phone he was a little off with me and said that I would have to go during work which of course I know that but I have two days off just before the appointment, if he hadn't relented and checked for me, I d have asked to speak to someone else.

My booking appointment is at my gps (at 10 weeks so I m getting a private scan on the 21st because I kept thinking my NHS scan might be late) so I won't be going to RPH until my scan I think and as far as I understand they can do appointments at my gps.

Glad the midwife sorted them out for you. DH knows about his family's mental health history as there's many in his family but knows nothing on the physical health side so I ve put no for everything on his side. There s a few things on my side which I ve had the all clear for so I m not too worried but the I think the information is more so they can offer you screening , the midwife should completely understand that people can't always have histories.

Does anyone else wear a Fitbit? My HR jumped massively when I found out I was pregnant and today it's lowered a bit which making me a little nervous

BelleBrutale · 09/03/2020 19:47

Hello ladies,

Found out I was pregnant last week, this will be my first at 22yo. Due date 27th October! Got my booking appt 25th March and first scan 9th April.
I'm so anxious to check that baby is okay and healthy.
Only been with the father for 2 months so it was a bit of a shocker, we are both excited now though!

Hope everyone's pregnancies are going okay.

roarfeckingroar · 09/03/2020 19:48

Hi everyone.

I am absolutely shattered. I actually left a body pump class this evening 2/3rds through because I just couldn't anymore. I've been going to bed around 9 every night and still so tired. I hope it's a good sign!

I remember someone had a scan today, sorry my crappy memory is crap, I hope it went well!

1990shopefulftm · 09/03/2020 19:54

@roarfeckingroar I haven't even walked much in a couple of days. 2/3 of a body pump class is still really good. I m taking tiredness as a good sign.

@ablisha I wear a Fitbit & was looking earlier to see if my heart rate has lowered as currently that’s all I have to show I’m pregnant other than my few POAS! Mines only ever gone up 5 beats but I wouldn’t worry about it, it will fluctuate a bit, it will average out over a week /month, the more you fixate on something the worse it will be!

@roarfeckingroar you are still doing body pump?? That’s A hardcore class! Have you told them you are pregnant? I would be very careful doing a hard strength work out like that with clean & press type movements in the first trimester I’m not surprised you are tired

Flora20 · 09/03/2020 20:20

Checking in before bed! I need to catch up with everything on here but I'm the general exhausted theme... I just put my daughter to bed and planned to watch TV for half an hour but couldn't face it so back upstairs!

8 weeks today and been able to eat better for the last couple of days - exhausted and bloated still but not as much nausea. Probably just a temporary thing but it's a nice change... Although fed up of feeling like I've swallowed a balloon 😂

Welcome to all the newcomers!

DressingGown87 · 09/03/2020 20:27

@1990shopefulftm that came though quick then, it’s a shame he couldn’t change it. She made me cry she was that rude, glad the midwife was nice though. I will just leave a lot blank and say I just don’t know.

@roarfeckingroar well done for the body pump, I struggle with daily life!

I usually never go to bed until after 11/12! But I’m asleep by 10 these days.

@ablisha I have an Apple Watch and mine is average 74BPM. Which is lower than last month, but I’m not doing as much.

@flora20 glad your feeling better.

1990shopefulftm · 09/03/2020 20:34

@DressingGown87 yeah, I was hoping to get to 12 weeks then tell work but no option with the appointment but to tell them sooner.
Hopefully you won't have to speak to the woman again but if you did I d be putting a complaint into PALS, they should not be messing with pregnant women.

DressingGown87 · 09/03/2020 20:40

@1990shopefulftm she will probably be on reception on Wednesday when I go to my appointment. I was going to tell my boss this week, but he is in such a foul mood, and stressed, I’ve not bothered. I have a lot of dentist appointments as I had a bone graft of my jaw done recently, so just said I have a check up for that. Will your boss be ok?

1990shopefulftm · 09/03/2020 20:47

@DressingGown87 I think she ll be surprised as will my colleagues as I ve always lied when they ve asked about when I d like kids but I think after the initial shock they ll be happy for me.

OP posts:
DressingGown87 · 09/03/2020 21:22

@1990shopefulftm I think mine will be shocked, as I’ve always been open with the fact I didn’t think I could have children naturally. I think in the 65years the family business has been running, they’ve never had one employee who’s had maternity leave!

1990shopefulftm · 09/03/2020 21:25

@DressingGown87 gosh not a single person, hopefully they ll get themselves informed on everything.

@DressingGown87 @Frankincense88 thank you ladies - I think I'm also a little worried as my sore boobs seem to have subsided today.

ablisha · 09/03/2020 21:54

@Minster2012 sorry I have just seen your reply too. Thank you. I really hope it doesn't mean anything but sore boobs seem to have subsided too

Danielle95lab · 10/03/2020 07:23

@ablisha they'll come back with a vengeance don't worry. Mine don't feel so bad for a few days, then come back worse for a further few and go down again briefly. Don't panic lovely.

Anyone else experiencing nausea in the middle of the night? Don't have it all day and as soon as I put my head on the pillow I feel disgusting 😂

BelleBrutale · 10/03/2020 07:56

@Danielle95lab I get my morning sickness at around 8pm, work has taken me off night shift because I work in a kitchen which is not the best place to run off and vomit. I'm worried that my coworkers will start to resent me!

MamaNaz20 · 10/03/2020 08:16

Hi Ladies
I have been trying to catch up with the posts here but had not a chance to respond or write anything
I work in city so wake up at 6:30 to 7 ish, commute to work and rarely get home before 7. When I get home I really do not have energy to do anything apart from spending a little time with DS , eating and going to bed! Last night I went to bed at 8:30. I rarely went to bed before 11-12 midnight before ; and sometimes much later...

Does anybody know what are the rules with morning sickness at work ? My nausea is getting worse steadily so I know with this rate I am going to feel terrible in a week or two. (Currently 6W+4) with more than an hour commute to work this could become hell- but I don't know what I can do about it ...

MamaNaz20 · 10/03/2020 08:19

@BelleBrutale welcome - working in a kitchen must be tough when you have morning sickness - mine is not too bad now but last pregnancy I could not tolerate the smell of most food; it made me sick ... hope yours is better :) I do hope your coworkers will be nicer than that and would not resent you for being pregnant ?! I would expect sympathy not resentment ...

BelleBrutale · 10/03/2020 08:28

@MamaNaz20 honestly the smells are overwhelming, I have had to become a mouth breather at work to try and limit the full blown attack on my nose.
I have some serious worries about working in this setting but need to pay my bills.

When it comes to sickness due to pregnancy at your workplace you have a lot of rights thankfully:
-pregnancy related illness cannot be counted on your sick record.
-must be paid as standard sick pay but does not impact hours of si k pay you are entitled to for non pregnancy related illness.
-cannot be dismissed if you are unable to carry out your job due to pregnancy, however you can be suspended on full pay.

Hope this helps!

roarfeckingroar · 10/03/2020 12:04

@1990shopefulftm I think it's a good sign too, at least I hope so because now I don't have any nausea and my cramps aren't as strong I'm a bit concerned by the lack of symptoms. Only three days until my scan so fingers crossed.

@Minster2012 yes I've told the instructor and he said it's actually fine to carry on with a few alterations, particularly core. He also said to come for as much or little as I want, which was lovely and I might keep doing. People are being so kind.

@MamaNaz20 I work in the City too and feel your pain. Fortunately my commute isn't so bad but I have my Baby on Board badge on already and always request a seat if I'm nauseous on the commute in. I also WFH a lot which helps. No idea about morning sickness I'm afraid, I think it just depends on whether you want to share your news.

Frankincense88 · 10/03/2020 13:11

The nausea is REAL today. Currently sat in the staff room eating dry crackers as I can't stomach anything else and they're HEAVENLY.
