Did anyone get their BFP recently? I got mine last night so I think I'm 4 weeks 1 day today and still very much in shock, according to apps my due date would be October 30th.

@roarfeckingroar they poured the j20 in the gin glass, with the ice and fruit. It’s was lush! Aww exciting times for your scan! Mine is Wednesday evening! Also nervous. I’m sure your friends will understand, generally people don’t announce it until 12 weeks, I’ve just told people because of my circumstances!

@1990shopefulftm hope you’ve had a nice chilled weekend!

@greenleafycarrot aww I’m so sorry to hear that! Please go and see someone at the early pregnancy unit. Thinking of you.

@minster2012 I’m 7+2, we all seem to be quite symptom free. I just keep reminding myself my scan was ok, but it’s hard. And that every pregnancy is different, and some people don’t get symptoms, and that there is still time! I just wish I had sore boobs, or nausea!! If I get it bad, please remind me I said that!

Good luck with your appointment, and hopefully it all goes well throughout your pregnancy. I’m going to chase my appointment, I’m taking the asprin, as suggested, but just feel I need to do more!

I’ve done some cleaning, can’t clean the house anymore! So I’m off for a roast dinner with my friend. X

Frankincense88 · 08/03/2020 15:16

So sorry to hear @greenleafycarrot sending love and light xxx

Still no symptoms at all other than a bit tired and boobs resembling boulders. Early scan booked for the 19th, booking appt on the 24th. 6+1 today. Did my weekly clearblue digital and it said 3+ weeks so that's promising. ☺️

DressingGown87 · 08/03/2020 15:17

@Frankincense88 glad it’s not just me with the weekly clear blue 3+, I’ve run out now, so it might be another amazon order!

Frankincense88 · 08/03/2020 15:20

@DressingGown87 haha I've got 2 left - should tide me over until my scan at least, then I can relax (sort of)

DressingGown87 · 08/03/2020 15:23

@Frankincense88 I had my scan last Monday at 6+3, and another this Wednesday! But I still live to double check. I think it’s because I had no symptoms, it’s just some reassurance! Amazon order placed!! Do you find yours take a couple of minutes to show?

Frankincense88 · 08/03/2020 15:28

@DressingGown87 yeah the pregnant bit is pretty quick at showing but the number of weeks takes a bit longer! I'll be 7+5 at my scan so hoping all is well and we can see something - even if it's a blob 😂

Minster2012 · 08/03/2020 16:45

@DressingGown87 I haven’t had any scans yet so don’t have that reassurance that’s why I’m thinking I might get one done on Tuesday.

Need a rant. I’m currently at my parents with toddler DS & they’ve just said something really annoying /hurtful on the whole another baby front, they don’t know about the pregnancy but knew we did more embryo creation & I said if we got the oks from my various teams we would try with me carrying a child “in the future” all hypothetical previously to them but we have been planning for 2 years.

For added context They look after DS once a week & My brother & his girlfriend currently due end of April their first but live 3 hours away so they will want to visit them more too. Anyway mum “we don’t want anymore babies thanks, ones enough thank you, you’re not having anymore” in a conversation to which I just said “that’s not your decision to make” and continued talking about the bedspread.

So guess who won’t be happy when we tell them. It’s made me so miserable, I’ve booked a private scan for Tuesday to know either way whether it’s still real & maybe make me happier but feel pretty shit right now.

DressingGown87 · 08/03/2020 20:41

@Frankincense88 it does seem to take a while to get that weeks bit! You could see a heartbeat, sac, and blob at my scan at 6+3 and I was measuring behind, so I’m sure you will 😊

@Minster2012 aww glad you’ve booked your scan, and hopefully it will give you some reassurance. Hopefully your mum didn’t mean anything by it, and when the time comes she will be happy at your news / arrival. But I can completely understand why your annoyed and need to rant at that comment. My mum said the other day in reference to my sisters baby stuff, that she paid “give it to your SIL (who is expecting) as S (me) won’t need it anytime soon, as she can’t hold down a relationship.” Well... maybe I’m not in a relationship, but I’m pregnant! 🙈

roarfeckingroar · 08/03/2020 21:02

@Minster2012 @DressingGown87 families have a way of saying things that cut, often without meaning it. I'm trying to manage my own expectations about my dad's reaction - he's great and will be very happy but his initial reaction may be a bit off because as he gets older he can struggle to express himself. Hope you aren't too upset.

Here's to a new week everyone.

Minster2012 · 09/03/2020 07:35

@DressingGown87 ha ha yes families, you can always count on them to say the wrong thing 🙈don’t need a relationship to have a beautiful baby don’t you worry

Thank you @roarfeckingroar I’m sure they will be pleased but worried for my health but I have very good teams around me who all gave me the go ahead now I just hope the scan tomorrow is ok

Effram · 09/03/2020 09:51

Hello! May I join? I'm 6+4ish, due 28-30th October I think :) Going to book an early scan for around 8/9 weeks.

So far I have been feeling generally well but exhausted and kinda nauseous all the time, not enough to think I'm going to be sick but enough to be aware of it!

sunbreak · 09/03/2020 09:56

@Effram hi and welcome 😊 I'm super tired as well. Have been going to bed early but in the mornings I just have no energy. On top of that we have some personal stuff which take a lot of energy so my DH has been mostly taking care of this. And a bit of nausea but nothing that bad as some of the girls on here.

Effram · 09/03/2020 10:08

My toddler gets me up at 6am so I have been going to bed basically when he does to manage! Yes I feel very lucky I don't have bad sickness!

Littlebb2020 · 09/03/2020 10:22

Hi girls not been on here for a few days. How is everyone?
Is anyone else feeling awful? The morning sickness has hit me like a sledgehammer and my
Stomach is in knots x

1990shopefulftm · 09/03/2020 11:46

Off work today so decided to do my maternity notes, it being my first baby I have no idea how much detail they want about family history so I ve got a separate sheet with it on . There's a lot of cardiac problems in mine (including dad dying from a connective tissue disorder) for example but I ve had multiple tests done a couple of times and had the all clear both times after a couple of fainting instances in 2018 so I m hoping my family history doesn't mean the midwife says I can't go with a midwife unit birth.

roarfeckingroar · 09/03/2020 12:26

Welcome @Effram ! I understand the tiredness, I've been in bed around 9.30pm every day for the past two weeks where possible.

@1990shopefulftm where do you get these notes / forms to fill in? My GP gave me sod all!

1990shopefulftm · 09/03/2020 12:51

@roarfeckingroar the antenatal clinic posted them to me with my booking appointment letter, my area is self-referral so i didn't bother seeing my gp. The letter said to fill in as much as you can but I may have gone overboard.

NiennaP · 09/03/2020 14:20

Hello everyone, lovely hearing everyones experiences and knowing I am not alone. Currently 6 +4 and the past week the nausea and tiredness has really kicked in, feel really light headed most of the time and have no balance. Nearly fell off a stationary bike st the gym last week 🙈

Went out for dinner for my mums 60th on Saturday and not sure of she suspects something. Firstly I ordered a homemade lemonade and she questioned why I wasn't drinking so I just said they do homemade lemonade which I amazing (it is, even had lemon sorbet in it). Then my husband and i shared a tapas style starter where you pick a few different items to which he asked if i can eat prawns quite loudly. I just replied and said yes its crab I dont like so hoping I go away with it.

Minster2012 · 09/03/2020 15:09

@roarfeckingroar do you have a booking in appointment with your midwife team? I assume your GP might have done a referral then but if not it’s not a bad thing to google the local community midwife team & give them a call, it might go to a voicemail & leave your details. I too have the pregnancy notes thing to do ahead of my booking in appointment next week & do all the history stuff & my own medical history is very complicated @1990shopefulftm so they suggested writing on a separate sheet which can also be photocopied & attached.

@NiennaP welcome! I love your explanation of the homemade lemonade & silly hubby! Are crabs not ok?? I’d love to eat a crab salad now 😂

I’ve just agreed to go to our friends & stay over on Saturday night so no driving excuse & we would ALWAYS have wine with food when toddlers are in bed so not sure how that one will play out. When we suspected they were pregnant we just didn’t ask so I’m hoping they do the same as before we get discharged from our IVF clinic next week after having had the viability scan & I stop the IVF drug support I’m on I’m really loathed to tell anyone
I was thinking if they comment I might just say I’m feeling under the weather

NiennaP · 09/03/2020 15:21

*@Minster2012 I have no idea about crab to be honest but I don't like it so it was the first thing that came into my head lol. I dont think my mum would be able to contain herself if she suspected something, she has been desperate for grandchildren for about 10 years.

I have been finding it quite stressful trying to hide that I am not drinking at social events. I had my best friends hen weekend 2 days after we found out we were expecting and I am still shocked I managed to not drink for the whole weekend without anyone noticing. Think it helped that everyone else was very drunk.

I have my best friends wedding when I will be 11 weeks and we are having a meal out the night before at the venue and staying over so thinking may tell her a few days before as I just cant think how to hide it. Everyone knows we are trying so feel like antibiotics as a reason would be too obvious.

1990shopefulftm · 09/03/2020 15:26

@Minster2012 I've done a double-sided separate A5 sheet but I could have written a fair bit more on my family history but it may not be relevant. my own history apart from needed to be tested for a few things which came back fine is mostly asthma or joint-related so nothing they'll need much of a management plan for I'd hope.

I was originally thinking of telling work this week but decided want to hold off a bit longer, I think I'll still be giving them 2 weeks warning for my booking appointment which is more than enough since it's in the middle of the day and no one can cover for me anyway.

OP posts:
Minster2012 · 09/03/2020 15:34

Awww that’s amazing you managed to hide it at the hen weekend @NiennaP bravo!! I’ve been “putting my drink down amongst other glasses” at various social events & getting DP to swap it for a tonic with a slice of lemon in to look like g&t but now I’m limiting the social events!!

I’ve also posted a couple of pics on social media which have included a steak & wine glass of red wine for instance(DHs or fake stuff) or glass that looks like normal g&t like on valentines night so ppl are less on the lookout!

On the friends wedding if it’s 11 weeks & they know you are trying then yes I’d tell them nearer the time as you might need to change your food order or not feel great on the day

Eatsleepbakerepeat · 09/03/2020 16:56

Eek it's all so exciting and getting very real for us all isnt it!
I had a call from my midwife today and booked in for my first 2 appointments first one is next week which is so exciting both on days I'm working tho so this could be a fun conversation with management!
Also have an early scan next week privately so a busy couple of weeks!
Had the odd twinge today things that have felt like a stitch then a tug then maybe a cramp and my stomach just feels a bit bruised hoping its nothing bad or to be worried about :(
Still having intense waves of sickness and dizziness like lots of you seem to be
Hopefully this next week goes fast!

BS9790 · 09/03/2020 17:08

Had my rescan today, 6+2 and saw the flicker of the heartbeat. Such a relief, but the relief doesn't last long!
Wish I could relax and enjoy it a bit more!

DressingGown87 · 09/03/2020 18:23

@roarfeckingroar @Minster2012 I know, hopefully everyone will be happy when they are over the shock!

Welcome @Effram and @NiennaP (Sorry if I missed anyone)

Rant one; the receptionist at anti-natal has infuriated me today! My GP told me to call them it my appointment hadn’t come through by today, as I need start medication at 7 weeks, and confirm the amount of asprin I need to take! She told me I wouldn’t be seen until 10weeks, as that’s standard procedure. I said I’m high risk, explained my situation and that she should have my GP and private consultants notes, and she said it’s her decision not theirs whether I’m high risk! I demanded to speak to a midwife, who apologised that she said that (so overheard) and that I was right and need to be seen this week by my consultant... appointment Wednesday!

@1990shopefulftm I’m worried about my booking form as I don’t have any of the “fathers” medical history 😭 where RPH good at doing your referral? Plus I don’t really know my own family. But don’t want to speak to my mum yet.

I think I had “morning” sickness last night, but then also think it was a dream, as I went back to sleep. Woke up very confused this morning.

@minster2012 I had j20 the other night in a gin glass with some fruit. It tasted better!

@BS9790 congratulations on your scan! Glad you saw the flicker, but I understand about the anxiety being short lived.
