Did anyone get their BFP recently? I got mine last night so I think I'm 4 weeks 1 day today and still very much in shock, according to apps my due date would be October 30th.

@ablisha, I asked they said no Saturdays and fully booked for a while after my appointment and the week before so couldn't change it.

Hi all, my due date is 30 October and I've just got my booking appointment arranged for 1 April. The early part goes sooo slowly! This will be our second and I'm so happy we finally got there. This one has taken 15 months whereas our elder DD only took 2!

1990shopefulftm · 03/03/2020 20:02

@ellenpartridge we ve the same due date and booking appointment date. This is my 1st baby , feels like times going slowly so far.

Nice to have a due date buddy. I think it will go quicker once I start telling people. Was going to tell my sister but DH wants to keep it completely private until 12 weeks so I have ages to wait!

1990shopefulftm · 03/03/2020 20:16

@ellenpartridge I m going to have to tell my work before 12 weeks but I m not sure about telling anyone else, there are people we could tell and if it went wrong I d want them to know anyway.

@Minster2012 congratulations to you!!

I was going to tell my boss, as I will need time off for my appointments. But his HR skills aren’t great, and he can be very old fashioned and opinionated 🙄 When I was off last year, he had seen my aunt, and told her I was off!! Even though it broke confidentiality! But I do love my job and workplace.

I’ve been so tired today, had a headache, and so grumpy at work. I just wanted to say give me a break!! 😭

I’m worried about my vitamins too. Last year I was prescribed folic acid, and iron. As my levels where so low “in my boots”. My prescriptions ran out, and the GP says I need to wait for my consultants appointment, to get a new one. So I’m just on the over counter stuff!

1990shopefulftm · 03/03/2020 20:30

@DressingGown they can sell you the higher dose iron if you ask a pharmacy, it's just folic acid that they can't.

DressingGown87 · 03/03/2020 20:39

@1990shopefulftm ahh thank you! I will nip to the pharmacy tomorrow. The pjs are on already!

Might be too early but has anyone watched the tv program which started last night called, maternity ward?

1990shopefulftm · 03/03/2020 20:48

@DressingGown87
I did, it's at the hospital that I ll be giving birth at (although I want to use the birthing center rather than be on the ward if I can) , so it was partially comforting to watch.

Just reading @1990shopefulftm @ellenpartridge talk about telling people and wonder who people have told?

I blurted it out to my friend who knew we were trying and told my PT for safety reason but that's it at the moment. Will tell our parents after our early scan March 20th.

1990shopefulftm · 03/03/2020 20:54

@ablisha DH told a friend we were trying by accident and he s doing well lying about it so far, keeping it up for another 7 weeks might get tricky for him though.
Might got with the telling parents after an early scan idea so we ve told someone.

DressingGown87 · 03/03/2020 20:59

@1990shopefulftm it’s also my hospital! I didn’t know if it would scare or reassure me watching it.

@ablisha I’ve told a few of my close friends, my cousin and a work colleague. As I don’t have a partner, I need people to talk to, to try get my head around it, plus they all know I’m higher risk.

1990shopefulftm · 03/03/2020 21:08

@DressingGown87 it's mostly reassuring. My main fear, is having to be on a hospital ward hence hoping I can use the birth centre and that a health professional won't listen to me and I ll feel like it's out of my control and it made it seem like the ward isn't so bad.

OP posts:
roarfeckingroar · 03/03/2020 23:25

@1990shopefulftm that's my biggest fear too. I'm meeting three doulas in the coming week to choose the right person to have with me fighting my corner and will pay for a private room is there's one available on the day.

Minster2012 · 04/03/2020 07:22

Oooo I will add that to my watching list! Thank you

AdventureAhead · 04/03/2020 08:29

Can i ask for your thoughts/advice?
I've been stressing a bit about a hen do coming up at the end of the month and can't work out what to do. I will be about 10 weeks by then, will have had my booking in appointment but not my scan so don't feel happy telling people I'm pregnant (especially the people on the hen - I only know the bride and one other hen and whilst both are lovely we have friends/family we are closer to and won't have shared the news with by then).
The hen do is a full weekend thing and is a 4 hour drive away so not feasible to go for a day.
Trampolining has been booked for one of the days (was going to do this but have read it really isn't advised during pregnancy) and a gin tasting is being booked for the Saturday evening. I obviously can't do this.
I can't work out how to duck out of the activities without telling people why. Any ideas?!!

MamaNaz20 · 04/03/2020 08:45

@AdventureAhead what about telling them (the bride first of all) and telling them that you haven't told anybody and aren't intending to do so until you are 12 weeks so if they can keep it to themselves ?

The other option would be to tell your closer family and friends before going - you may not want to do that thought which is understandable.

Is this your first ? It's my second and despite me feeling the risk for this one not going ahead as planned is more - due to age- I am sure I can't hide it until 12 weeks as I am growing a lot faster ...

The only thing I would say is it's definitely not worth stressing over; I guess stress could be as bad as gin tasting !

MamaNaz20 · 04/03/2020 08:53

@1990shopefulftm @ellenpartridge Hello due date bodies

Ellen it's also my second my DS was also second cycle trying and this was 5th- I was gradually getting worried ...
how old is your DD? My DS is 5.

AdventureAhead · 04/03/2020 09:07

@MamaNaz20 Yes, this is my first. Does it show?!
I think you are right. If I don't tell them I think I would have to pull out and not go and it seems silly to do that.

Minster2012 · 04/03/2020 11:14

@AdventureAhead there’s a couple of options, you either leave it and see how you feel nearer the time in terms of sickness because if you are feeling really sick then the last thing I’d want to do is go on a hen do & be with lots of noise & have to try & be “on it” & bubbly etc when I feel shit & just want to curl up & sleep & yet there are late nights planned. But if you feel fine that’s not an issue. So either u tell them & ask them not to say anything, it’s not like you will see them til the wedding & if you therefore pose for photos you family won’t know. Or you could try & day you are giving up booze for lent but the trampolining I wouldn’t do so you could have an injury that also requires painkillers you can’t drink on?? That might also suggest why you might be a bit quieter & go “oooo ouch” every so often??!!
Prob easier just to say 😂🤣

Littlebb2020 · 04/03/2020 11:30

So i spotted pink last night when I wiped and have lower back ache. 😞 anyone else have this at nearly 6 weeks?
Terrified I’m miscarrying

tulip2020 · 04/03/2020 11:46

@Littlebb2020 I've had the same thing for the last 2 days, very similar to the start of my period. I called the hospital and have a scan at the emergency gynaecology unit this afternoon although they told me not to worry yet, maybe worth doing the same for you? Thoughts are with you I know how awful it feels not knowing what's going on xxx

Littlebb2020 · 04/03/2020 12:06

@tulip2020 I’ve phoned this morning at 8 and left
Messages and phoned back and heard nothing yet. My gp don’t want to know either. Took it upon myself and booked a private scan for Sunday
Sorry you are going through this stress too!

tulip2020 · 04/03/2020 12:14

Oh so sorry they haven't been more supportive @Littlebb2020 ☹️ hope we both get positive answers soon

Danielle95lab · 04/03/2020 12:40

Anyone got any advice? I've just had a call of the early scan people (privately booked) who have me in for next Wednesday at 7 weeks on the dot. To potentially push my appointment back a week because it could be too early to get a decent scan with a heartbeat etc.

I didn't think 7 weeks was too early? Anyone else had this or had there's earlier?
