Did anyone get their BFP recently? I got mine last night so I think I'm 4 weeks 1 day today and still very much in shock, according to apps my due date would be October 30th.

tulip2020 · 03/03/2020 12:48

@roarfeckingroar thanks yes I think I might see if it comes back and if so give them a call. No cramps or anything so maybe just things shifting around!

KitKatKit · 03/03/2020 12:53

@firstpregnancy20 I feel your struggle. I'm normally a massive water guzzle and veggie eater. The last 10 days or so I haven't had a single green and barely managing a large glass of water a day.
I'm hoping this will pass soon and normal veggie eating will resume. For now I'm trying to just eat what doesn't make me want to heave.

roarfeckingroar · 03/03/2020 13:13

@KitKatKit @firstpregnancy20 I too guzzle water and adore veg, barely touch anything processed, bread etc. but it's harder with the nausea to even think of cooking.

This week I'm struggling with being away for work, living out of a hotel and in all day meetings. Nausea is intense and a shit sandwich will push me over the edge today. Not being able to eat small amounts constantly is making it worse. Plus I need a wee every two minutes. Argh!

KitKatKit · 03/03/2020 13:28

@roarfeckingroar living out of a hotel when you're feeling like this must be awful. Just hydrate when you can I guess 😰

Yep cooking is a no-no for me and I'm the feeder in our house. DH is going to have to take a culinary crash course if he wants to eat!

ablisha · 03/03/2020 13:37

Is anyone else starving? Or am I just being greedy?

KitKatKit · 03/03/2020 13:42

@ablisha simultaneously starving and nauseous! All day every day!

roarfeckingroar · 03/03/2020 13:57

@ablisha no pregnant woman is greedy. It's our time!

Hotel life is a bit shit but on the upside breakfast is made for me, my room is tidied and bed made every day for me and I get a lie in because everything starts at 10.30 this week!

AdventureAhead · 03/03/2020 14:30

@ablisha Yes! It's just about my onoy symptom but I'm ravenous, all the time!

Littlebb2020 · 03/03/2020 14:52

I am 5 weeks and 5 days today I had ivf so know my due date is about the 29th of October if everything goes ok. Anxiously waiting for my first scan at 7 weeks.

I have had sickness that started yesterday, feel
Odd and not myself anyone else? Also feel
Like I’m hungover and very tired like I’ve had no sleep. Also seem to have to go to the loo 🤭 as soon as I wake up in the morning or I have an urgency to go and can’t wait ( stomach ache) anyone else having these symptoms!? X

ablisha · 03/03/2020 14:58

Glad it's not just me! Thanks ladies!

Flora20 · 03/03/2020 14:59

@roarfeckingroar Definite perks to hotel living I guess!

@ablisha Still very much on the nausea end of things at the moment but I remember being starving in my first pregnancy from about 11 weeks on!

I'm so fed up of being exhausted and not wanting to eat... My niece is arriving this afternoon to spend her uni reading week with us and I'm dreading having to pretend I feel ok for a week. Or show enthusiasm for food!

Flora20 · 03/03/2020 15:01

@Littlebb2020 Sounds pretty normal! It's hard and the first trimester feels like it goes on forever, but for most people after that you'll feel much better and time flies!

roarfeckingroar · 03/03/2020 15:15

@Littlebb2020 all sounds healthy and normal Smile

sunbreak · 03/03/2020 15:18

@Littlebb2020 yeah, I've been feeling "off" too, but can't quite put my finger on it. Also tired, have been falling asleep at 9:30 for few nights now when our usual bed time is around 11 if not after. No nausea, except for a short period today when I had to get some salty crackers at lunch.
Just waiting for a call from the midwife. I did my self referral form 2 Fridays ago so should be this week!
P. S. I'm 5weeks and 2-4 days depending on which app I'm looking at.

Littlebb2020 · 03/03/2020 16:37

noticed dry mouth too even though I drink a lot of water.
Wanted to ask what pregnancy vitamins everyone is taking? I’ve started on just a morrisons own brands for pregnancy going to start taking it before bed though as I think it can make the nausea worse x

roarfeckingroar · 03/03/2020 16:45

I just take folic acid, iron with vit c (I take these always for anaemia) and a probiotic. Am I missing anything important?

Mc3209 · 03/03/2020 16:55

In Scotland (which is where I live), NHS actually gives you 4 bottles of vitamins for free. There is folic acid, vitamin D and C.
Another interesting fact about Scottish maternity care, in a city where I live they don't tell you the sex of the baby at 20 week scan. Need to go private if one wants to know.

1990shopefulftm · 03/03/2020 17:24

@roarfeckingroar, Vitamin D is mentioned in the maternity notes I was sent. I have had a deficiency in the past so I've been taking it a while anyway but I believe it's recommended at a low dose in pregnancy.

Today's the first day that I don't feel that tired or that I have a cold anymore, still continually bloated so not sure when I might start showing with all the bloating.

Decided to speak to my manager sometime next week so they have warning for the booking appointment but ask that they don't tell anyone apart from HR for a bit.

Been debating whether to tell other people after the private scan since I think my NHS one is going to end up being late and I don't feel I can hide it until 13/14 weeks anymore.

roarfeckingroar · 03/03/2020 17:37

@1990shopefulftm good point about Vit D; I'll get some of that too.

I've been in a 6 hour meeting today and have to go out for dinner and socialising with the directors tonight. Everyone went straight to the pub and I've sloped off for a nap for a bit.

roarfeckingroar · 03/03/2020 17:38

I would like to be able to tell manager but can't until contract extension is sorted

1990shopefulftm · 03/03/2020 17:48

@roarfeckingroar avoiding the pub does help you hide it easier, hope the dinner isn't too tiring :)

my booking appointment is in the middle of the afternoon, so it's either tell them or use holiday booking the afternoon off which I don't want to do as i m saving it for the beginning of mat leave.

Can I join please?
I will have to read up on the back of the thread when hubby gets home as having a challenging day with DS1 19months (who was carried by my best friend as a surrogate for us) as I’ve had 10years worth of chemo/ immunotherapy treatment for malignant skin cancer, I’m 35, will be 36 when born so this is my first pregnancy, IVF, currently 6+2, due 25th Oct & counting down the days til our viability scan on 18th March & booking in appointment 19th let alone 12 week scan!

Currently not got too many symptoms & only a my friend knows

roarfeckingroar · 03/03/2020 19:00

@Minster2012 oh wow what a journey - congratulations and welcome.

ablisha · 03/03/2020 19:10

@roarfeckingroar @1990shopefulftm my midwife offered a Saturday appointment which is a god send - worth asking!

roarfeckingroar · 03/03/2020 19:12

@ablisha wooooh! How exciting
