Did anyone get their BFP recently? I got mine last night so I think I'm 4 weeks 1 day today and still very much in shock, according to apps my due date would be October 30th.

Welcome @MrsCl19 @MamaNaz20 ! Congratulations!

Oh dear @Frankincense88 you poor thing. I managed to do that, erm, on the sofa. No idea how. Got through it with a lot of hot yoga (the heat softens up your muscles) and stretching it out gently.

Re nausea, I'm finding that if I don't eat in the morning it starts right up and I'm often sick but small bits of food little and often work.

I've also started waking up every day at 5am and then getting cramps. This was quite lovely over the weekend - waking up, revelling in excitement with a sleeping DP looking peaceful next to me - bit wayyyy less so when I'm due in conference calls from 8am - 6pm almost none stop today 😫.

How's everyone feeling?

Who has scans this week?

Frankincense88 · 02/03/2020 08:49

@1990shopefulftm lovely thank you - I will send mother dearest out today!

@roarfeckingroar I feel ya! I did mine... loading the dishwasher 😂😂

Flora20 · 02/03/2020 08:57

@Frankincense88 Ouch that's not good. Hot water bottle, paracetamol, and maybe check with a pharmacist about the Tiger Balm? I think in general if you're putting it on your skin it's fine, but obviously first tri is the time to be most cautious. But a pharmacist rather than a doctor should be able to help.

@roarfeckingroar Ooh venison... I'll add that to my cravings list!

1990shopefulftm · 02/03/2020 09:00

@roarfeckingroar i m feeling better than I had been, i m just bloating and a bit more tired than usual most of the time now. no morning sickness as such yet.

I may have made a spreadsheet. Username, due dates, general area (e.g. north/London, nothing too detailed) and scan dates.

In my defence, I'm the first of my friends to do this (I'm 32 this month!) so you guys are the people I'm getting excited with.

CloudyEm · 02/03/2020 09:18

After years of trying (currently on IVF wait list...!) we finally got our BFP last week :D
Due 31st Oct

roarfeckingroar · 02/03/2020 09:18

@Flora20 lunch was spectacular: rabbit, black pudding and white bean crumble; venison with a haggis pasty, red cabbage, rhubarb chutney, all the green veg; dark chocolate and honeycomb. Utter filth. Clearly what the baby wanted Grin

HelenMarie1001 · 02/03/2020 09:46

Hi, is anyone having trouble sleeping? I think in total I may have had an hour last night! Absolutely shattered for work today!!
I work in a school and didn't want to tell them so early (5+3) but I'm really struggling already with nausea and no sleep!
Any advice welcome Smile

Frankincense88 · 02/03/2020 10:06

@roarfeckingroar haha that is brilliant! So organised. I have one 'mum' friend but her little boy is starting school in sept and none of my friends / colleagues are expecting. Living for this thread!

@HelenMarie1001 congratulations! There are lots of us who work in schools on this thread I believe - I've only told my Head of Department in case I need to dash to the loo between lessons. Won't be telling my head until the last minute 😂

HelenMarie1001 · 02/03/2020 10:09

@Frankincense88 thank you! I'm worried about telling my Head as SLT are quite loose lipped and my line manager is also on SLT so I think he would pass it on.
Do you know if I tell HR do they automatically tell the Head?
Sorry for all the questions and congratulations!!

Frankincense88 · 02/03/2020 10:12

@HelenMarie1001 I wouldn't have thought so - surely they'd have to keep it confidential but maybe other people on here can give you a bit more insight as this is my first rodeo and I don't really know how it all works 😂

Flora20 · 02/03/2020 10:29

@HelenMarie1001 Congrats! Fellow teacher here, thinking I might tell HR and my HoD this week even though I'm only 7 weeks tomorrow. The nausea and exhaustion this time round are bad, I decided to stay off work today because I couldn't face it - my toddler isn't well and has been awake basically all night for a week so really not helping me! HR won't tell anyone immediately, especially if you ask them not to. Although I'm not usually one to panic I'm also wary as someone with connections to school has just been diagnosed with coronavirus, so while there's not a huge risk I also want to make sure HR are aware of my pregnancy just in case.

@roarfeckingroar My God that sounds amazing. I'm nibbling on a dry pretzel which is just not the same! Love the spreadsheet 😁

roarfeckingroar · 02/03/2020 10:49

There are lots of teachers! I work in communications in central London, former journalist, I love it.

The spreadsheet is a work of art.

AdventureAhead · 02/03/2020 10:51

Can I join too?! Think due date is 25th Oct. 1st baby. Great to have a group to share experiences with.

roarfeckingroar · 02/03/2020 10:52

Also - massive sympathy to everyone working in a school who is exhausted. How you do it every day - even when not pregnant - is absolutely beyond me. When I'm tired I either WFH in lounge wear or hide out in a quiet office and drink tea behind my laptop. You guys are incredible.

roarfeckingroar · 02/03/2020 10:55

Welcome @AdventureAhead and congrats !

I'm pretty sure we have the same due date - I don't remember date of last period but will know next week after early scan - and also my first. How are you feeling?

AdventureAhead · 02/03/2020 11:25

@roarfeckingroar Bizarrely i feel completely normal. Haven't had any symptoms which was a little worrying but tests show I'm pregnant so I'm trying to just enjoy feeling well! Anyone else not had any symptoms?!
Just trying to work out which health professional I need to contact I my area (midwife/gp etc). Think I'm going to start with my gp receptionist.

KitKatKit · 02/03/2020 11:46

@roarfeckingroar I am cracking up at your spreadsheet! That is brilliant of you.

I'm sat here working out whether I should wait for the NHS scan (whenever it is), or fork out the £80 for a private early one.

Also, welcome to newbies!

Frankincense88 · 02/03/2020 11:48

@AdventureAhead no symptoms here except achey boobs - other than that I feel totally fine! Just going to make the most of it and enjoy not feeling rough because I'm sure it'll be short lived 😂

roarfeckingroar · 02/03/2020 12:20

@KitKatKit I'm paying £99 for one up at Harley St in central London a week on Friday and am so excited. It's totally worth it to me and DP, plus my initial GP appointment is this Friday so god only knows how long it would take to get an NHS scan.

I do love a spreadsheet. I am regularly ribbed for this at work but who has their work planned to a tee and on time? Yes. It's me. I do. GrinGrinGrin

roarfeckingroar · 02/03/2020 12:22

Now I've gone from a ball of horror and denial to annoyingly happy (actual skipping down country lanes territory this weekend) I'm a bit more concerned about what might go wrong so I've just taken another CB and it's confirmed I'm 3+ weeks pregnant, thankfully.

Buying a double test at the same time as some lube was quite the amusing Boots trip this morning BlushGrin

DressingGown87 · 02/03/2020 12:25

I’ve just got back from my scan! Thought I was 6+3 but measuring a few days behind. BUT there was a heartbeat which was a huge relief, given my history. I should have my consultants appointment in the next 2, as this won’t be midwife led. I have a large cyst on my ovary though, which they will need to keep an eye on, and possibly remove during or straight after pregnancy. They’ve said this is what’s contributing to my pain, although mild cramping is normal.

@roarfeckingroar love the spreadsheet!

@adventureAhead my symptoms have gone, but I’m still pregnant. She said not to worry, and feel lucky that I’m not being sick (yet). You should also be able to self refer to the antenatal department for your midwife appointments. You can usually do this online without seeing a GP.

Flora20 · 02/03/2020 13:33

@DressingGown87 So glad it all went well for you!

Just got my first appointment date - not until the 1st April, I'll be 11 weeks... Hoping she can get the scan booked in quickly or I'm going to go crazy!

roarfeckingroar · 02/03/2020 13:34

Oh that's so great that it went well @DressingGown87
