@TFC90 I would strongly advise against a private scan at 6/7 weeks. The amount of anxious people you see on here who've gone for them, not seen a heartbeat because it's too early and then been consumed by unnecessary anxiety for the week until the follow-up scan is unreal. Wait until 8 weeks. I'll find a link to one of the more recent threads for you, hang on...

TFC90 · 16/02/2020 13:42

@becausereasons I think we would wait until 8 weeks anyway because you can see more then! But very good to know, I'd be so anxious!

LittleBrownBaby · 16/02/2020 13:54

Hello! I'm 7 weeks tomorrow and having an early scan on Thursday as I MC last year and I have had spotting over the last few days. It's been 8 years since I was last pregnant so feels like I'm starting all over again!

LoveRainbow02 · 16/02/2020 14:40

I had an early scan yesterday at 7 weeks. Sonographer dated me 3 days behind what I thought I was but explained the dates can be up to a week out as it's harder to measure when baby is so small. I saw the heartbeat flickering away and it was amazing! I've had 3 mcs in total so feeling relieved that all was well at my scan. How is everyone?

Dollywantsareallifedolly · 16/02/2020 14:43

Hi all 😊
Got my first BFP last Monday so I will jump in if that's ok as really feel like I need some support (only told DH so far - cannot wait to tell my parents but I think it's too early yet).
Day 1 of BPF I was in shock, day 2 I was really excited, day 3 anxiety set in and is only getting worse! Only symptoms I've had are cramps (like AF) from time to time and a LOT of gas and trapped wind. Though today I have woken up and no longer feel pregnant at all!

I just feel like I am consumed with the fear of MC and it is taunting what should be one of the best experiences of my life! My DH is so happy and I want to share his excitement but at the moment I just cannot let myself get attached. Is this just a normal feeling??

Bananaloaf88 · 16/02/2020 14:54

@Dollywantsareallifedolly everyone is different. With my first BFP I was so excited, miscarriage hadn't even entered my head. The second time I was more cautious and now 3rd time round in 8 months i'm beyond scared.

I am trying to take each day as it comes. I keep trying to tell myself whatever is going to happen will happen anyway. It is out of our control.

marauder1994 · 16/02/2020 15:18

@Dollywantsareallifedolly I felt the same today. Yesterday I felt shattered and sicky and grumpy - today I feel only slightly all of that. I started to worry but I'm trying to stop myself; I can't grow something positive if I'm not thinking positively.

That's my little motto to get me through the next few weeks.

We're here to support you if you
Need it. The hardest part is no-one knowing when you want to shout it from the rooftops! Xx

zinrepus · 16/02/2020 15:30

Hi, excited and nervous to be joining in. I've been having some intense symptoms (boobs aching, but wrong for PMS) so I'd been doing early testing on ICs. Yesterday I got hit with some pretty bad nausea so I thought about a real test today. This morning it was visible enough on ICs that I tried a FRER and it showed up faint, but definitely there.

I'm really early (3+6) so I know I need to be cautious, have loads of people around me and on here suffering MCs and chemicals. But as long as I'm still feeling rough that's probably a good thing, right?

Dollywantsareallifedolly · 16/02/2020 15:52

Thank you so much ladies 😊 It feels good to have people to tall to about these issues. Thank you for your great advice, that positivity motto is fantastic. It just seems like the next 7 weeks are going to take forever! Not going to have an early scan as I don't think it will reassure me at all. At the moment I am just ticking off the days. My due date is October 18th by the way, any due date twins out there? 😊

zoomies1 · 16/02/2020 16:00

Hi @TFC90 your GP is likely to tell you to self refer to your local hospital - I think you can do it via their website. The GP won't want to see you.

I think I'm going to book in for a private scan at around 8 weeks when I get back from holiday. Any earlier and if there is no heartbeat, I will still have too much hope. Down here in London the scans are about £100 I think.

Other current symptoms - still having crazy dreams and waking up every two hours in the night also getting hotter and sweating more then normal during exercise - is that just me?? And drinking more at night.

Bananaloaf88 · 16/02/2020 16:02

@marauder1994 Excellent Motto!

@Dollywantsareallifedolly I am due 22nd of October so not far off!

zoomies1 · 16/02/2020 16:03

Finally told DH last night. He was very surprised and very happy. I'm glad I waited until I was a little more certain as he is also anxious about it. He wants me to feel sick to give him confidence!!! And he has started forcing me to eat more fruit.....

LittleBrownBaby · 16/02/2020 16:32

Nice to read all the symptoms etc. Mine are sore boobs, tiredness, nausea and hunger! Then there's the spotting after sex and BM (sorry!).

I am so scared about having an early scan in case my dates are off and they don't see a heartbeat - but after a previous mc I really need to get one done or I may go mad.

My scan in Berkshire was £75, I think,

Bananaloaf88 · 16/02/2020 17:15

@LittleBrownBaby I can't even bring myself to have sex 🙈 My poor hubby, has accepted this though. After my miscarriage & ectopic I am avoiding any risk of blood 🙈 I know it is ridiculous but it helps me to feel more settled.

Dollywantsareallifedolly · 16/02/2020 17:23

@Bananaloaf88 I'm the same with the bonking situation Haha. Our home has been a crazy bonking zone for the last 7 months and now my DH is on a bonking ban as I'm so anxious about it and actually have no desire to have sex at the moment (although I used to have a crazy high sex drive!). I feel so bad for my husband but he is so thrilled with our news I actually don't think he cares, it is adorable!

Congratulations to you all by the way!💐💐💐 I didn't put that on my first post xxxxx

Bananaloaf88 · 16/02/2020 17:28

@Dollywantsareallifedolly My DH doesn't seem bothered either. I totally agree though I don't feel very frisky either 😂 Being full of gas & bloating is making me just want to sleep at night!

Catherine1210 · 16/02/2020 18:02

Hi all and congrats to those who are expecting!

I’m due 12th October this is my first pregnancy and at times I’ve felt so anxious! Which had surprised me as I’m really chilled usually.

It’ll be nice to buddy up and follow the journey together with some online friends ☺️ Hopefully make me feel more normal at times 😁

Catherine1210 · 16/02/2020 18:05

@Dollywantsareallifedolly I feel the exact same!! I thought I would be chilled until my first scan, instead every twinge, bit of brown discharge (sorry tmi) and strange feeling I feel so worried!

Atleast this must be normal if we both feel this way ❤️

Think I’ll book a private 9 week scan to ease my mind a little. X

marauder1994 · 16/02/2020 19:13

I am soooo irritable the last two days. Like I just get pissed off so easily haha. Anything OH says I just snap at. Give me (and him) strength!

LittleBrownBaby · 16/02/2020 19:36

@Dollywantsareallifedolly @Bananaloaf88 I have now scared myself too much to do it again. Definitely taking a break until after the scan and then gonna take it easy! Although as always my sex drive is through the roof, despite the constipation and sore boobs - sexy!!

Bananaloaf88 · 16/02/2020 20:07

@LittleBrownBaby 😂🙈

Does anyone have any tips for excess gas and constipation? I am going mad already!

Catherine1210 · 16/02/2020 20:22

@marauder1994 I am the same... My OH suggested porridge sachets instead of the pots (instant I’m being lazy) and I said in the middle of the supermarket “No bowl to wash is easier... Don’t make life harder for me” over porridge bahaha 🙈 afterwards I felt a bit silly for being so dramatic.

These hormones could do with settling! 🙈x

marauder1994 · 16/02/2020 20:46

@Catherine1210 yep! It's my main symptom! Irritability, slight nausea, fatigue and cramps. But my boobs seem to be getting less sore?

Dollywantsareallifedolly · 16/02/2020 21:09

@Bananaloaf88 yes I am also in desperate need of a gas remedy! I feel like a 15 year old boy! Actually had to blame a real foul one on my in-laws dog this morning! 😅

You all have helped to cheer my up so much today, thank you! At least most of us are on the insane preggers train together 👍
