HELP!!! Sorry, I am a pain in the ar$e but I am 39+1 and still have no definite name for LO

I had a thread a while ago saying we had chosen our names and what were peoples opinions on them - well, e have now totally gone off the names and we are back to square 1.

I need help - desperately! I really want LO to have a name as soon as it's born. I am open to all ideas bar names that a quite modern (such as Taylor/Jordan/Jayden etc - nothing wrong with these names, just not my cup of tea!).

We don't know sex of LO and already have a DD called Grace Elisabeth.

Thanks in advance!

I've just referred back to your original thread and I think it's a pity you've gone off Saul - it's a great name, really strong. The only Saul I've ever met was a gorgeous man so maybe that's influenced me!Why not have a look at the current top 100 baby names for boys and girls here for some ideas?

TheMuppetMuggle · 01/09/2007 18:57

for Girl we have Jodi, for a Boy i like Henry although DP not having any of that!

professorplum · 01/09/2007 18:57

Boy - Solomon, William

Girl - Esther, Tilly

I should add that I clearly have no taste in names. Both ds name and the name I've picked should my next baby be a girl have been ridiculed on this site

cornsilk · 01/09/2007 18:57

Saul is lovely - have that!

throckenholt · 01/09/2007 18:57

we would have chosen Clare, Frances or Sarah for a girl (we had 3 boys instead !).

Boys names we struggled with to be honest - DH liked all the traditional ones - Charles, William, James, Edward etc - I like the more traditional modern ones - Mark, Luke, Martin, Adam etc.

My nephew didn't get a name until he was nearly 6 weeks old !

Consider how it sounds with the surname - a boy particularly is going to be stuck with it for life - so also think about what it will sound like for an adult and an old man (some names really suit little kids but somehow wouldn't fit your bank manager, or and old man (granddad Taylor ). And think about about how easy it is to write - my DS is now learning to write and you suddenly realise much easier Tom is than Alexander .

Girl - Beth, Ella, Rose, Phoebe, Amelia

helenelisabeth · 01/09/2007 19:02

LOL at few people saying having Saul! My mum will kiss you all! It's her favourite name as my brother is Paul but I cannot imagine a baby called Saul - am I mad?

As for everyone else's suggestions - thanks but nothing jumping out at me.

KateF · 01/09/2007 19:26

I have Isabella, Susannah and Philippa but other girls names I liked were Jessica, Bethany (possibly a bit too popular atm), Laura, Sarah, Rachel, Emilia. For boys I liked William, Jacob, Thomas, Matthew. You'll probably take one look at your new baby and think "well of course, he/she is X"

TheMuppetMuggle · 01/09/2007 19:29

NAB3 never thought of Jodie Marsh TBH that has now put me off abit!!
I also love Mackensie for a boy.
Love Caitlin for a girl

SSSandy2 · 01/09/2007 19:36

So tell us what the name options were you were considering before so we get an idea of what you like. You were thinking of Saul, and what else?
