Hi,

Starting a thread for ladies in early pregnancy after one or more miscarriages or stillbirths. A safe place to let off steam and hopefully grow healthy rainbows together......

@LapsedVeganEgg Shock omg congratulations! How do you feel? Did you say you’ve already got 3 children? So you’re going to be a mummy of 5!!
I’ve only told my husband and my mum, last pregnancy we told all our close families because I was confident it was going to work out and then when it didn’t I hated having to tell everyone so I’m not going to be doing that again!

Rachael321 · 28/01/2020 08:05

@LapsedVeganEgg TWINS wow congrats to you, hope all goes well!! You're gonna be kept in your toes definitely!

Twins run on my family too...I'd faint too if it was me

Rachael321 · 28/01/2020 08:07

@Avocuddles @RunWild @SammiLou2312 well last night was the worst! Woke up with the pain in my poor boobs 4 times. Like a zombie today

avocadoincident · 28/01/2020 08:08

@LapsedVeganEgg holy moly that's wonderful. I'm very jealous! Xx but thrilled for you. Xx

Avocuddles · 28/01/2020 08:12

@LapsedVeganEgg congratulations and WOW! Our first twins on this group, how exciting!!!!! Did you have any suspicion at all?

@Littlegoth lovely to see you here. I'm also a member of the heparin club and my tummy is already covered in bruises from injecting over the past ten days - if I make it full term I dread to think what it'll look like! My first scan isn't until 7 weeks, I'm counting down the days....

For those of you who have morning sickness / have had it in the past, at what point did it kick in for you?

OP posts:
Avocuddles · 28/01/2020 08:13

@Rachael321 oh no, sorry you had such an awful night! If it's waking you up I'd suggest you speak to your gp / hospital, you can't go on like that for another 7 or 8 months.....

@Avocuddles
In 2/3 of my pregnancies my morning sickness started around 7 weeks. With my son it lasted till around 14 weeks and I lived off salt & vinegar crisps, toast and chips 🤣 so I’m stocking up on healthy food now before it begins again!

avocadoincident · 28/01/2020 08:51

@Avocuddles morning sickness from 6-13 weeks and eating little and often helped. Also making sure I ate early in the morning and something sweet.

LapsedVeganEgg · 28/01/2020 10:37

@Avocuddles No inkling at all, no! But twins in all branches of family, so it probably shouldn't have been a shock.

Rachael321 · 28/01/2020 11:03

@Avocuddles I know its awful! Will say to midwife tomorrow and see what she suggests

Treaclepie19 · 28/01/2020 11:08

That's so amazing @LapsedVeganEgg!
There are twins in my family too so my dh keeps joking it might be.

Sunflower1608 · 28/01/2020 11:55

@Avocuddles mine kicked in 6-10weeks. They sat low blood sugar can make it worse. So little and often. Low smell low taste, carby stuff. Although with my daughter Chinese hot and sour soup was the only thing that stayed down for me. I rotated Chinese takeaways and stockpiled it 🙈

Avocuddles · 28/01/2020 13:27

@Sunflower1608 I just had some hot and sour soup from Wasabi for my lunch and it definitely hit the spot! 😂

LapsedVeganEgg · 28/01/2020 14:07

That's the kind of thing I'm eating a lot, too. Was at a party over the weekend - and whereas I usually don't go for salty bland carby buffet fare, I found myself nibbling through several hundred veggie spring rolls.

Hi all, tentatively joining over here Smile
I am 29 and DH is 32, been trying for exactly a year now. Fell pg in May 2019, was overjoyed and completely not scared of anything going wrong. Danced in to the scan room at 12 weeks to be told baby had stopped growing at 6 weeks. Absolutely devastated. Just felt like I had wasted so much time. Had a D&C, tried again right away but got shingles in August and my cycles were messed up for around 4 months all told I think. My Dad was diagnosed with Cancer at the same time I was in the hospital having my D&C so in all a very very stressful time.
Finally fell pg again in December. Found out on 18th Dec and Mc on Christmas day at 5w 1 day. Spent the day pretending not to be Mcing.
In the month since that miscarriage my Dad has sadly passed away, on 8th January, and by some miracle amongst all that I am pregnant again.
I really can't believe it, we stopped tracking after I got a positive ovulation test the day before Dad died because we just thought there was nooo way, DH has been saying all month it would be so unlikely but here we are. Towards the end of last week I started feeling really irritable and my boobs were veiny with hard nipples ALL the time, missed my period on Saturday then tested Sunday morning after I checked my BBT and saw the highest number I have ever seen. Now 4W 6 Days and praying every day it sticks.
I'm feeling very heartburny this time around, boobs arent as sore as they have been last 2 times but they are definitely bigger and erect nipples. I am v v bloated too, and digestion is definitely slower. Woke up in the night for a wee the other day which made me quietly very happy! Hoping to be sticking around in this group for the next 8 months

Avocuddles · 28/01/2020 16:05

@TunnocksTcake hi and welcome. You have been through an awful time over the past few months and i just hope and pray that your rainbow is on the way to bring you some much needed happiness. I'm only a couple of days ahead of you at the most and my symptoms are exactly the same - bloating, sore and hard nips - it's a glamorous time isn't it!

I've also had two losses, both between 7 and 8 weeks, so know just how nervous you must feel at the moment. Do you have any scans or appointments booked? I really hope we're all here for the long term!

OP posts:
Avocuddles · 28/01/2020 16:06

@TunnocksTcake also want to send my condolences for your Dad, it's such an awful disease, and you are one strong woman to be here sharing your story.

OP posts:
TunnocksTcake · 28/01/2020 16:15

@Avocuddles Thank you. I don't feel like it. trying not to get stressed about the grief affecting the baby. He was in a bad way at the end, just drugged up on Morphine the whole time so it was no life. He had a stroke 10 years ago that robbed him of his speech and the use of his right hand/ dodgy use of his left leg and I feel like I lost him then in a way, he was a completely different person afterwards and didn't feel like my 'dad' anymore.
Anyway, sorry! I am hoping with all the hope in the world this is our sticky rainbow too! Keeping all my fingers and toes crossed for all of us! I haven't booked anything yet, wanting to get past the 5 week stage at least I think then I will deffo book early scan. Not sure whether to go for 7 or 8 weeks!

TunnocksTcake · 28/01/2020 16:21

@Avocuddles Yay that we are so close in dates :) Have you got any scans booked?

avocadoincident · 28/01/2020 16:35

@TunnocksTcake welcome. Not sure how you are still going to be honest after the last few months.

I also had shingles days after my miscarriage in October and I've got them again now. Hmm

I think we have the same due date too. As I'm 4+6 bit different apps tell me different dates?

avocadoincident · 28/01/2020 16:41

I've just come back from the midwife. She suggested I stick to the normal scan dates at 12 and 20 with an extra at 16 as that's when they think the baby stopped growing even though we didn't find out until 20 weeks.

But I said I can't wait till 12 so she rang the EPU and they've booked me in for when I'm 6 weeks+2.

Avocuddles · 28/01/2020 16:56

@TunnocksTcake I've got a scan booked at 7 weeks on feb 10th which still feels like a lifetime away! Both of my previous pregnancies had started to fail by then (measuring way behind) so I guess at least it should be clear one way or the other by then. 7 weeks is when fertility clinics scan as standard as there should definitely be a strong heartbeat by then (though many see one from 6 weeks onwards....).

@avocadoincident glad they've agreed to see you sooner. I definitely couldn't wait that long either!

Avocuddles · 28/01/2020 17:50

So just got home from work and went a bit crazy. I think now really is the time to stop but it's easier said than done! Encouraging to see levels rising though know it ultimately means nothing.....

@Avocuddles those are lovely to see 😍
I havent tested since sunday and have done no digitals 😭

I have no clue how I'm going to wait another 5 weeks for a scan 😬😬😬🙈

TunnocksTcake · 28/01/2020 18:13

@avocadoincident oh nooo shingles whilst pregnant? You poor thing! That was honestly the worst illness I have ever had! Mine were down one leg, and under my bum so I couldn't sit down. It was awful, i still have a numb patch now! I feel so sorry for you! Can you take the anti virals?

@avocuddles yeah I was just talking to dh and I think we will go for 7 weeks, both of mine had stopped by then too and seeing a heartbeat would really settle my nerves. I think I'm going to wait another week before booking just to be safe, lost my deposit last month. Dh is feeling more nervous than I am bless him, said he just doesn't want to see my heartbroken again Sad
All calculators are saying 30th sept for me but I know I ovulated around day 17 so might push me into October
