Hi,

Starting a thread for ladies in early pregnancy after one or more miscarriages or stillbirths. A safe place to let off steam and hopefully grow healthy rainbows together......

@didslysquiddlydoo @Littlegoth congrats to you both for your fantastic positive scans! Am so happy for you, as others have said your story @didslysquiddlydoo gives hope to us all, it's wonderful that your fears have been proven wrong and you have a lovely strong bean measuring exactly where it should!

@tmc14 good news re your 3+, glad you feel a little more reassured now. I know what you mean about how it feels like we're waiting forever at this stage. I'm 7+4 today, my previous losses were at 7 and 8 weeks and I'm counting down the days until my 9 week scan when I might finally allow myself to imagine the possibility of making it to 12 weeks and beyond.....

@Littlegoth and @didslysquiddlydoo that is amazing news from both of you. So happy for you both 😍

@Dani430 how are you doing? Have you felt up to testing yet?

Hoping2020 · 14/02/2020 15:27

Such good scan news ladies, excellent! @didslysquiddlydoo @Littlegoth Flowers Flowers

It was me that had my scan today too @Scout20 and pleased to also be able to share good news. Baby is measuring 9 weeks, exactly two weeks on from our last scan and we saw a lovely, strong heartbeat again. Can’t believe it - so thankful! They’ve even offered to scan me again in two weeks for reassurance so I don’t have to wait for my dating scan. We weren’t expecting that and are very grateful. Now to get through the next two weeks!

Scout20 · 14/02/2020 15:43

Wonderful news @hoping2020! Glad you saw a strong heartbeat and good growth, and good news it's 'only' two weeks until your next...!

PawPatrolMakesMeDrink · 14/02/2020 17:00

Hi ladies. Can I just post to get it all out of me. I’ve been reading some of the posts but it’s a mega long thread so I’ve not read everything.

I had a loss at about 6/7 weeks in November last year, not sure on dates as I have PCOS and cycles are everywhere.

Not had a period since the miscarriage and got a positive on a cheapie this morning and I’ve done a CB digi which said 1-2 so still early days. Only did the test cos my boobs were a bit sore. And I’ll pee on a stick for any reason really.

I’m just a bit numb I think, I don’t know how to feel. Luckily I have regular counselling so I’m going to discuss it with my counsellor next week.

Was looking forward to getting pissed tonight but maybe not now!

didslysquiddlydoo · 14/02/2020 17:58

Thank you so much guys, it's definitely not the outcome we were expecting - so much so that I now feel an idiot for telling them I didn't want to see the screen and therefore didn't get a scan photo or anything 🙈 We live and learn - I guess we find ways to try and protect ourselves as much as possible when we've been through losses before...!

@Littlegoth SO happy for you to have had great news at your second scan!! Are there anymore early scans booked for you or are you going to wait until the 12 week one?!

@Aria2015 time really does go SO slowly at this stage doesn't it?! I don't know about you, but it all feels never ending!! I find myself thinking "oh I'm getting there, I'm 7 weeks down, over halfway to that 12 week marker - but then remember that the first four weeks didn't really count! 😂

@Avocuddles I don't think I congratulated you on your positive scan on Monday - I'm so glad it went positively for you and have everything crossed for your next one at 9 weeks! We are date twins at the moment (I think) so your positive scans give me a bit of hope! We have decided to book another scan at 10 weeks x

@Hoping2020 amazing news!! I know we have all had different circumstances and experiences but the positive news that people bring is so encouraging and brings a lot of hope!! It sounds like you were extremely lucky to have been offered another scan! Jealous but pleased for you, I know how much the reassurance means, especially at this stage!

@PawPatrolMakesMeDrink - congratulations! I know it can bring up a lot of mixed feelings to get that positive following mc - definitely use your counsellor as a sounding board, it's great that you've got that in place! I know it might be tough, but try to take it day by day as much as you can. I've found it hard to think this way sometimes but this is a new pregnancy and there's every reason to believe at this point that this one will be successful - rooting for you xx

For everyone else - how is everyone? Where are people at physically / emotionally and what scans / mw appointments are coming up? I hope you're all doing ok xxx

Knotemma · 14/02/2020 17:59

@PawPatrolMakesMeDrink first of all congratulations on picking a truly excellent username!

Welcome to the thread and gentle congratulations on your news.

One of the best things about this thread is you can absolutely just get everything out and we'll do what we can to support you.

I've been back to the doctor's today and have come away with a two week sick note and some new tablets to try, happy valentine's Day to me 😂

Avocuddles · 14/02/2020 18:15

@Hoping2020 congratulations on the positive scan, it's fantastic to know everything is developing as it should for you.

@PawPatrolMakesMeDrink welcome and I agree excellent username choice! I also have very irregular cycles so know your pain as far as that is concerned and dread to think quite how many sticks I've peed on (opks and pregnancy tests) over the past 20 months..... I was actually about to start ovulation induction when I conceived last month as I'd gone back to 60+ day cycles after my second miscarriage. One promisingly dark opk led to one 'attempt' and now I'm keeping everything crossed that this might be the one! I felt numb and confused to start with too - it's so hard to feel happy when you have had negative pregnancy experiences before, but it's great that you have a counsellor to talk to about the crazy emotions. I kept taking pregnancy tests for weeks, I found it hard to believe and needed to keep seeing those lines to convince myself that it was 'real', though my sore, huge boobs are a fairly constant reminder now! As others said this is a great place to share all your thoughts and worries, and hopefully a place where we'll see lots of beautiful rainbows grow over the coming months.

@didslysquiddlydoo thank you! My due date (for now) is 29th September, think there are a few of us very close together? We'll have to take a 'roll call' of where everyone is up before we get to the end of this thread....

@Knotemma I hope the valentines pills do the trick!!!! I'm currently in a 'eat everything in sight' phase. We're out at an Italian restaurant tonight where I'll eat my body weight in garlic bread to compensate for the lack of red wine and cured meats!

Wishing you all a very happy Valentine's Day - I know it's cheesy but I still all hope you've been spoiled 💕

OP posts:
PawPatrolMakesMeDrink · 14/02/2020 19:37

Ah thank you for the kindness shown.
Username is an apt description of my life until I got the positive test 😂
Do thinks I’ve cheated and won Valentine’s Day with the news.

Avocuddles · 14/02/2020 20:11

@PawPatrolMakesMeDrink it definitely beats chocolates!

OP posts:
Knotemma · 14/02/2020 20:40

@Avocuddles thanks they definitely seem to be helping, though it would seem that I'm pretty spaced out, it wasn't really obvious when I was in on my own, but since DH has come home it's become obvious that I'm struggling to string a sentence together 🙈. My plan is to take my evening tablets now and just go to bed, hopefully I can get some sleep 😂

Hagster · 15/02/2020 09:03

So lovely to see so many positive scans, so pleased for everyone!⁣⁣
⁣⁣
I'm in mini-panic mode, having pains on one side when I cough/turn over in bed, worried about ectopic. No cramps other than that but 4+5 weeks so still very early. Am I going mad or right to worry??

SammiLou2312 · 15/02/2020 09:35

@Hagster there are lots of reasons for pain/cramping. Even as simple as your uterus starting to expand...try not to worry xx

Knotemma · 15/02/2020 09:35

@Hagster I don't want to be alarmist, but I would get checked out sooner rather than later, it's probably all fine, but ectopic pregnancy is dangerous so it's definitely worth getting checked over, they'll probably get you in for a scan.

I do get weird pains especially if I lie on my front, but I'm pretty sure all of those are to do with how much heaving I've been doing 🤦
If the pain get worse or more consistent maybe call 111 for some advice. A warm hot water bottle might help with the discomfort, just not too hot or too long.

I hope you're not in too much of a panic and that I haven't made anything worse xx

Hagster · 15/02/2020 10:22

Thanks @SamiLou2312 and @Knotemma, I think I will ring the midwives and see if I can get a scan. Best to speak to a professional and have a scan either way I guess!

Treaclepie19 · 15/02/2020 10:23

@Hagster I've had that every time and they've always been dismissive and it's always turned out fine but best to ring just to make sure. They likely won't scan you until 6 weeks anyway but at least you'll have a record.

TunnocksTcake · 15/02/2020 11:30

Had my scan and baby has grown from 4.7 mm to 11.2mn this week so now measuring ahead by 2 days! Had a lovely lady who had a good look around at my ovaries and found a cyst on my left ovary but she thinks she also saw some blood in my pelvis, which she thinks came from the cyst. She said there is like a one in a million chance that it's an additional ectopic pregnancy but I'm in no pain now so it's likely just a corpus luteum cyst... just another thing to worry about!! She has rung the EPU and said they will ring me Monday. They didn't see anything last week which is strange but maybe they were rushing...

Avocuddles · 15/02/2020 12:02

@TunnocksTcake that's great news, how far along have they dated you now?

@Hagster as the others have said definitely no harm in raising your concerns, you may get to have an early scan or they may just tell you to get in touch if things get worse, but either way there's nothing to lose.

Just been on a (wet and windy) trip to M&S as I'm starting to spill out of my bras. Thought going up a size would be sufficient but when I tried them on I realised the situation is worse than that and I ended up having to buy a 36GG! God knows where I might end up!!!! 😭

OP posts:
SammiLou2312 · 15/02/2020 12:22

@TunnocksTcake great news!!

@Avocuddles what size were you originally? I've been wearing sports bras for last few weeks but even those are to tight now so think I'm going to have to bite the bullet and go buy some maternity ones. Dread to think what size I am now, I feel like they are mahoosive lol. Has anyone taken to wearing a sleep bra? Are these just the same as a maternity bra? So confused with all the different options haha

TunnocksTcake · 15/02/2020 12:33

@avocuddles 7w 2d which is more in line with LMP but I ovulate late so it's further ahead than I thought I would be.

I think I might have to venture for bras, getting indents from the one I've got that fits. I think I've been putting it off in case this doesn't work out but feeling better about it now I've seen growth and a heartbeat twice 😊

TunnocksTcake · 15/02/2020 12:35

@SammiLou2312 i wear the really soft new balance crop tops to bed, I think they are supposed to be sports bras but they offer NO support haha but they are enough for bed. They do them in TK max for £10ish

Avocuddles · 15/02/2020 12:58

@SammiLou2312 I was wearing a 34ff or 36f so have always had big boobs but they're getting a bit ridiculous now - I'm only five foot one so definitely 'top heavy'!

Re sleep bras, I've bought a few 'soft and comfy' bras from asda which are basically crop tops and perfect for in bed. They have removable pads in which I've taken out as they fit better that way. The large or extra large are about right for my boobs!

For evenings and weekends I'm a big fan of m&s bralets - they make them in a 'fuller bust' option and the size 16 fuller bust fits me perfectly. It actually provides a decent amount of lift so ok for wearing out as well as when relaxing at home

@TunnocksTcake you're just a couple of days behind me then. My next milestone is Tuesday when I'll be 8 weeks + 1 as that will be the longest I've ever been pregnant......

Sunflower1608 · 15/02/2020 13:01

Well just had my early scan (thanks for the reassurances everyone) and turns out I'm having twins 🤯. Measuring 7 weeks+1. Both nearly the same size. Both with strong heartbeats. Seperate placentss. A little shell shocked... grateful both are fine. But Im going to be mum of 5!

SammiLou2312 · 15/02/2020 13:08

@Sunflower1608 omg that is amazing news!!! I get you feel shell shocked lol. Do twins run in your family?

Thanks for the advice guys, I will look into those recommendations for sure x

tmc14 · 15/02/2020 13:08

@sunflower1608 Congratulations!!! Amazing, is shocking, news. Glad both of them look to be well. Bet that news is going to take a little time to sink in...

@Hagster I echo the others, probably nothing, I had very weird pains last week which have now gone, but always worth phoning and asking

@TunnocksTcake congratulations on some mega growth! That’s lovely news.

I had my booking in & first appointment letters arrive today. Going to try and get a scan a couple of days before booking in (so 9 weeks) as last time I went through the whole but baby had stopped growing by then. Don’t really want one before 8w4d which is when my last pregnancy ended.

Hope everyone is hiding from the storm. I’m trying to catch up on some work but am so so tired...
