Hi,

Starting a thread for ladies in early pregnancy after one or more miscarriages or stillbirths. A safe place to let off steam and hopefully grow healthy rainbows together......

@Treaclepie19 @avocuddles so happy for you guys! What a relief. For now at least 😅

@avocadoincident I'm so sorry to hear about your scan, but it is great they've referred you to RMC already. I hope the appointment after goes well ❤️

Hagster · 10/02/2020 11:27

Great news @avocuddles @Treaclepie19, really pleased for you.

@avocadoincident I'm so so sorry. Look after yourself and your partner and I hope you get good care going forwards ♥️

@avocadoincident so sorry to hear your news. Thinking of you and your family xx

SammiLou2312 · 10/02/2020 11:34

My scan went really well. Measuring perfect, perfect shape and a strong heartbeat that we got to hear for a few seconds 🥰

Seahawk80 · 10/02/2020 11:35

@avocadoincident so sorry. I'm glad you have been referred but I can imagine it's not much comfort right now. I hope to see you back here before too long x

Avocuddles · 10/02/2020 11:35

@Treaclepie19 hopefully you'll be fine, it's so hard to date accurately early on. Hopefully lots more good news to come!

Avocuddles · 10/02/2020 13:30

@SammiLou2312 that's great news! Glad all is looking good. Will your next scan be at 12 weeks?

OP posts:
SammiLou2312 · 10/02/2020 13:44

@Avocuddles another one at 10 weeks to triple check everything ok but then I think I'll be transferred over to antinatal specialist instead of staying under recurrent miscarriage clinic x

Knotemma · 10/02/2020 17:38

@avocadoincidentso sorry to hear your sad news, hopefully the RMC can help in the future. Be kind to yourself and take care x

Aria2015 · 10/02/2020 20:49

Hi, can I join? I'm falling apart a bit here and don't really have anyone to talk to IRL. I'm 5 weeks into my 5th pregnancy. I've had 3 losses and 1 lo (in between losses 2 & 3). I've suffered terrible anxiety with my pregnancies after the first 2 losses and this one is no different despite me having had counselling since my last mc last year. Currently freaking out because I feel like any symptoms I had have disappeared. Went to the drs today and had a blood test. I got a 3+ on a clear blue on Friday and I read hcg levels have to be 2700 to get that result so if my hcg hasn't at least doubled from getting that Friday to today's blood test, it will indicate another loss. I also have a scan next Thursday at the EPU. I've been in tears today. I really just have zero hope of things being ok. I feel so drained by the constant worry. I've taken about 25 tests in a vague attempt to reassure myself but nothing does. I don't even know why I'm posting. Does feel helpful to put it down though so grateful for just that. Sorry for unloading!

Littlegoth · 10/02/2020 21:30

@Aria2015 it’s a scary time x Just remember symptoms come and go so early on. When we’ve been through such awful experiences already it’s hard not notice every symptom (or lack!) and to feel like it might be going wrong again. Hopefully your blood test will be reassuring and we are here in the meantime if you want to talk x

Aria2015 · 10/02/2020 21:46

@Littlegoth thanks for the reply. I do try and remind myself that symptoms fluctuate but I also know that in the past, a loss of symptoms has been a sign that my pregnancy wasn't viable so it's always an anxiety trigger for me. I should get the blood test Wednesday so have a couple more days to get through! Thanks for the kind words.

SammiLou2312 · 10/02/2020 21:57

@Aria2015 firstly welcome. This group of wonderful ladies are all extremely supportive so hopefully we can help you feel a little calmer. Sending best wishes and sticky bean vibes to you. I hope your blood tests come back great. In the meantime try to relax a little x

Aria2015 · 10/02/2020 22:02

@SammiLou2312 thank you. I'm just working my way reading through the thread and feeing less alone already Smile.

Avocuddles · 10/02/2020 22:10

@Aria2015 hi and welcome! Sorry to hear about your anxiety, this is definitely the right place to post, we've all experienced one or more losses and know just how terrifying these early weeks are. I was an obsessive tester too, every day through to six weeks when I finally stopped as I read that the lines can get fainter then. I had an early scan this morning which was fine but it's done nothing to quell my anxiety. I'm seven weeks now and both of my losses were at seven to eight weeks so even though this pregnancy is looking more encouraging than the otherss, it's still so hard to not be in a constant state of panic.

Rest assured that you're not alone, you're amongst (obsessive symptom spotting) friends here. I hope your blood test results bring you some reassurance and that next week's scan shows a healthy sticky bean x

Welcome @Aria2015 - this is the right place to come to unleash the crazy thoughts! I was just thinking this morning it's so hard to not be able to see / know what is happening literally inside you. I'm waiting for a scan tomorrow so let's hope today goes quickly!

All good with me, work is rubbish which is t helping my state of mind but I've got time off coming up in March and have applied for an internal promotion - I don't think they will let me do it on my 4 day a week contract but I used to work in the department before I had DSand was brilliant at my job (if I do say so myself!) they've had lots of changes which mean I think it is no possible to do the job in 4 days and also I know they are desperate so 🤞🏻. Just another stress to add to the mix!!

SammiLou2312 · 11/02/2020 08:21

@Seahawk80 good luck for your scan and job promotion x

TunnocksTcake · 11/02/2020 08:36

@Aria2015 welcome, you have come to the right thread. I think when history has only ever given us MCs it is so hard to believe that a new pregnancy will go any other way. I had loss of symptoms last week along with cramps and when I went to the EPU they basically dismissed my worries about symptoms as your hormones fluctuate soooo much at this time. If you possibly can, stay calm until you have any facts that tell you to worry. Xx

TunnocksTcake · 11/02/2020 08:41

@Seahawk80 that's a nice challenge to help distract you!

Who else has scans this week? I have my private one still on Saturday! Feels a bit silly going again so soon but I would have lost my deposit if I changed it! DH still hasn't seen anything and I think he needs to for his peace of mind too. Hopefully we will see the right amount of growth and a strong heartbeat 🙏

Knotemma · 11/02/2020 08:44

@Aria2015 welcome! It's a lovely supportive group and we try to hold each other up when it's tough. I'm an obsessive symptom spotter and underwear checker too, so your amongst friends here.

I'm feeling what I can only describe as dreadful. Sickness has completely taken over my life and I'm on my third day off work, which I feel guilty about. (I've only been in this role since the start of January, though I've worked with most of the team before).

I don't think I've had a proper meal since Thursday lunchtime and I'm struggling to keep water and tea down. So I've bitten the bullet and made a doctor's appointment. I hate going to my local surgery, I've had several really bad experiences there, including a doctor completely dismissing my suspected miscarriage in November (which I believe was my third).

Not looking forward to the appointment and I'm half expecting them to respond with "yes pregnant women vomit and get nauseous" but at least I'll have been.

I hope you're all feeling ok today, that the nerves aren't too bad and that you're all being kind to yourself. Xx

Scout20 · 11/02/2020 08:59

Welcome to the thread @Aria2015. Sorry you find yourself here, but hopefully the support can get you through to your scan on Thursday.

Sorry you're feeling so rough @knotemma. Visiting the GP is a good call - hopefully they can give you some anti-emetic medication, and keep an eye on you for dehydration. I hope you have better luck with them this time.

I have my early NHS scan this afternoon, so fingers crossed...

Knotemma · 11/02/2020 09:33

@Scout20 thanks and best of luck for this afternoon x
