Hi,

Starting a thread for ladies in early pregnancy after one or more miscarriages or stillbirths. A safe place to let off steam and hopefully grow healthy rainbows together......

Thank you all

TunnocksTcake · 05/02/2020 09:18

@Rachael321 I was also wondering about flu jab - what is everyone doing?

Avocuddles · 05/02/2020 09:22

@TunnocksTcake @Rachael321 I had a flu jab back before Christmas because I'm asthmatic. It's worth asking your GP as they do recommend it for pregnant women. I have one every year and have never had any side effects other than a slightly sore and heavy arm for a day or two....

@Nooodles glad you've managed to get an EPU appointment. It sounds positive that the spotting has stopped, hoping for a good and reassuring result for you tomorrow.

@Rachael321 glad your scan went well, your post definitely made me chuckle!

I'm definitely getting the flu jab when I can.

Great news about your epu appointment @Nooodles

Nooodles · 05/02/2020 09:32

Thank you! Everything crossed that there’s no more today and everything goes well tomorrow .. guess this has made my mind up about having an early scan!! :)

@Rachael321 I’d completely forgotten about the flu jab but all going well, I’ll probably try and get one ... I’ve got a toddler at nursery so it’s probably worth getting again considering all the germs she brings home!

Glad you got some good sleep @TunnocksTcake

Rachael321 · 05/02/2020 09:32

@Avocuddles it was quite amusing. I had to go empty my bladder, they had the bed tipped backwards like at the dentist, the had me with my feet on the bed and back arched and wiggling my hips and then lying on my side and all sorts! Was like bloody gymnastics!!
@TunnocksTcake definitely relieved. Can feel myself getting excited about it now whereas before I was just a bit numb kind of feeling.

My midwife reccomend the flu jag at 12 week scan and whooping cough at 20 week scan. I've had no side effects from it so far... other than a restless sleep but that could be anything

Rachael321 · 05/02/2020 09:35

@Nooodles glad you've managed to get an epu appointment.hope all goes well! I would say have a chat with midwife or gp about flu jab especially with the nursery germs hanging about!

Treaclepie19 · 05/02/2020 11:10

I'm glad you've got an appointment @Nooodles!

I've been to the dr today and have an appointment monday for a scan too. I'll be 6+1. With all this one sided pain I'm really glad. Though nervous 🙈

I'm planning on getting the flu jab too but if it's at 12 weeks will they have stopped doing it by then?

avocadoincident · 05/02/2020 11:49

@Treaclepie19 I have a scan Monday too. 9am

Treaclepie19 · 05/02/2020 11:52

Hope all goes well @avocadoincident! How far along will you be?
I'm nervous now trying to sort out childcare and stuff.

Avocuddles · 05/02/2020 12:19

@avocadoincident mine is also 9am on Monday!

I'm working from home today and just went for a walk around the block. It feels almost spring like today and the world seems alive with possibilities - I can see buds appearing on the trees in the garden and birds are chirping away. I'm not sure I feel any more optimistic about my own situation, but it's amazing how a bit of sunshine can improve your mood.....

Well ladies, I had a scan yesterday and was measuring 10+2 so 10+3 today. Heartbeat was 169bpm. So I'm officially discharged from EPU. I have my 12 week scan on 21st!

Avocuddles · 05/02/2020 12:44

@London91 congratulations that's great news! 🎉

@London91 that's amazing news!! So happy for you 🎉🎉

@Nooodles I'll be thinking of you for your scan - I've had friends who have had the little bit of pink blood you described and all was fine for them so I'm remaining very hopeful for you xxx

Can't believe we are at the stage where people are starting to have or book their first scans! I'm so excited and hopeful for everyone and just keeping everything crossed!!

I'm at 6+1 / 6+2 today.. felt my first waves of nausea yesterday but then today - nothing... it's so hard not to second guess everything! If things continue as they are we have planned to book a scan for around 8 weeks - if we don't cave and book something sooner!!

How is everyone feeling - both physically and mentally? XX

avocadoincident · 05/02/2020 12:53

Oh @London91 that's wonderful news. You are trail blazer among us!

avocadoincident · 05/02/2020 12:55

@Avocuddles good luck to you too. I'll be 6+5 then, how about you?

I'll also be popping out for a walk soon to soak up some vitamin D.

Anyone in South Wales on this thread?

Nooodles · 05/02/2020 13:21

Thank you @Rachael321*@Treaclepie19 @didslysquiddlydoo* for your good thoughts! 🤞🏼

I’m feeling ok, trying to remind myself that we might not see anything at the scan tomorrow as I’ll only be 7w1d and my darned awkward uterus ... but I do really hope we do ✨

@London91 that’s amazing news, congratulations :) :)✨

xxx

Treaclepie19 · 05/02/2020 13:31

A few of us awaiting monday then!
At 6+1 I'm not expecting much but I really would love to see a heartbeat.

SammiLou2312 · 05/02/2020 14:01

@Nooodles and @Treaclepie19 my first scan was last week at 6+1 and was able to see a very small baby with a very strong heartbeat. I did have to have an internal scan as I have introverted uterus and endometriosis scarring that made it hard to see externally but it was definitely there. Fingers crossed you both get to see yours on Monday. I have my 8+1 scan at 11am. Both excited and terrified ATM lol

HighHopes20 · 05/02/2020 14:13

Fantastic news! @London91 😊
Lots of positive news on this thread lately!
Anyone feeling like a crap mum at the moment? I’ve promised my son we’ll go to soft play but I just can’t face it as I feel so sick!

Avocuddles · 05/02/2020 14:15

@avocadoincident I'll be 6 +6 or 7 weeks then so very close!

@Nooodles as @SammiLou2312 says, if you are able to have an internal scan you should hopefully see plenty at 7+1. Exciting!

@didslysquiddlydoo I've had a couple of waves of nausea over the past few days but like you say they come and go. The only constant is tender boobs - they feel almost bruised on the sides....

OP posts:
avocadoincident · 05/02/2020 14:22

@HighHopes20
I went to soft play yesterday and today I've woken up feeling rough... aching and sore throat. I'm blaming Whirlikidz germs!

So today we are watching Peppa Pinc (in Welsh) and we are both still
In our pyjamas.

HighHopes20 · 05/02/2020 15:38

@avocadoincident we’ve just been for a walk as I was feeling guilty but my son is going through a stage where he’ll walk for about 2 minutes and then wants picking up which makes me feel even more sick! 🤢

Knotemma · 05/02/2020 15:51

Well after all my excitement over 2 nights sleep I spent half of last night hung round the toilet🙈 morning sickness is definitely more like constant sickness 🤢. I've been out in a van all morning with one of the lads from work and it was really tough, we were in the middle of no where and I drank about half a bottle of gaviscon to get me through.

I'm 7+2 today and have never gotten past 8 weeks. My next scan isn't until my 12 week dating scan, so that feels like a lifetime away. Depending on how I'm feeling I may book a private scan for about 10 weeks, there are quite a few places on our area that do them.

Has anyone had any good or bad experiences with "chain" type scanning centres?

Sending lots of good thoughts to you all and sticky baby dust x

Treaclepie19 · 05/02/2020 16:34

How exciting @SammiLou2312!

I've had scans at 6+4 before but never 6+1. We will see!
I've just walked round town with my 4yo for an hour and I am knackered 😴😴😴
