Hi,

Starting a thread for ladies in early pregnancy after one or more miscarriages or stillbirths. A safe place to let off steam and hopefully grow healthy rainbows together......

Wonderful news @SunStruck! Such a relief. Hope the relief carries you for as much of the next fortnight as possible Smile

@hi*@HighHopes20 and @Treaclepie19 hope you're ok cramps-wise today (and the next four weeks pass quickly for you). Glad you're managing to sleep @Knotemma and @Seahawk80 hope you're ok. Well done on the healthy eating @avocadoincident*!

How are you, @Mumlili9, any news?

For me the nausea comes and goes but is increasing overall I think. Counting the days (minutes?) to the scan on Friday...

Knotemma · 04/02/2020 14:25

@SunStruck that's brilliant news! Really pleased that you scan was reassuring. I think the fact that ours went well has finally sunk in and might have something to do with the fact I'm sleeping better...that and the 500ml bottle of gaviscon I've taken to keeping next to my bed might have something to do with it 😂

SW83 · 04/02/2020 14:46

Congratulations @SunStruck :-) Fantastic news!

Treaclepie19 · 04/02/2020 15:26

Lovely news @SunStruck!

Thanks @Scout20 I'd chilled out a bit but it's worse this afternoon. I'm going to try again to get into the doctors tomorrow. I'm worried because it's more on one side. Hopefully I'm just worrying over nothing.

HighHopes20 · 04/02/2020 15:44

Fantastic news @SunStruck ☺️

SammiLou2312 · 04/02/2020 15:44

@SunStruck brilliant news! It's amazing seeing the heartbeat right? I Balled my eyes out when I saw mine lol. I'm also on fortnightly scans, next one on Monday next week...hoping everything is still ok then x

SunStruck · 04/02/2020 15:46

Thanks so much ladies! 🥰 I figure we just need to take it a scan a time now... I'm trying not to think about the magical 12 week mark! I'll try to survive and pass the 8 week scan, and then hopefully the 10 week scan...

What are your coping strategies?

Littlegoth · 04/02/2020 16:09

@SunStruck my main coping strategy - drinking seedlip and pretending it’s a G&T

TunnocksTcake · 04/02/2020 16:13

@SunStruck so glad the scan went well, thats excellent news!

hmm coping strategies... not sure I have any tbh! I am trying to be more positive moving forward, and just tell myself at this moment everything is ok. There is no real reason (that we know of) that this pregnancy shouldn't progress as normal so I am just trying to have faith.

Scout20 · 04/02/2020 16:18

Same @SunStruck - living scan to scan and milestone to milestone. I feel a little like I'm wishing my life away, but needs must at the moment. I'm trying to keep focussed on other things, which is also easier said than done! Between Dr S and the NHS I've ended up with scans almost every week until the end of this trrimster, which is very lucky. Currently focussing on the scan on Friday, and then I imagine we're all focussing on getting past the point of our loss/es... Hopefully once we're past 12 weeks we'll all be feeling more optimistic?!

SunStruck · 04/02/2020 16:31

@Littlegoth 🤣 Great strategy!!! I need to buy some AF wine 😁

@Scout20 yes you're right! I'm going to be most nervous at the 10 week scan, because I found out about my mmc at this scan last time around... baby had died at 9 weeks. Need to keep myself busy around this time! Fingers crossed for Friday, I'm sure you'll see a healthy little bean! How many weeks will you be then?

Seahawk80 · 04/02/2020 17:14

@Scout20 know what you mean about living scan to scan and wishing our life away. Feels like my life in on pause until February is over...at least it's the shortest month!!

Avocuddles · 04/02/2020 17:17

@SunStruck really glad your scan went well and that you saw a healthy heartbeat. Desperately hoping that I get to see the same next week!
Appreciate you'll still be very nervous but just try to remember that as of now, as @TunnocksTcake says, you are pregnant and everything looks just right. Yay to the alcohol free wine - @Littlegoth I like seedlip and I'm also a fan of the Tesco alcohol free 'gin' and slimline tonic cans.....

@Treaclepie19 if you don't have any luck with the GP maybe try calling your EPU directly? Mine in theory only accepts referrals from doctors but if you explain how you can't actually get an appointment they may be able to help....

@Scout20 it's great that you're getting so many scans. It's really hard work having to go almost four weeks from getting a BFP at 3+3 to a scan at 7, time feels like it's moving so so slowly but at least it's almost in sight now.

@Seahawk80 I've had numerous cramps too so it's reassuring to hear about your experiences. I think a lot of them are caused by gas, but it's still very disconcerting. Sorry you're feeling so low. I know what you mean about putting your life on hold. If I'd known how long this journey would take I would have moved jobs two years ago. It feels like everything has stalled over the 20+ months we've been TTC, I've put off career moves and travel opportunities and I've had a permanent shadow over me for a long time. My DH is amazing and gets my through, but my god this experience is brutal and we're all heroes for going through it whilst also juggling the rest of our lives and putting on a brave face to the world....

@Knotemma congrats on the decent sleep! How far along are you now? Just be mindful that at a certain point pregnancy tests might start to get lighter again - I suspect I'm getting close to this point so trying my hardest to step away from them but it's so hard when we haven't had a scan yet!

@Sunflower1608 great news re the 3+! It's reassuring isn't it.....

@HighHopes20 @SW83 @avocadoincident (and everyone else - too many of us to tag now!) hope you've all had a good day.

@Mumlili9 hope you're ok, have been thinking of you......

Treaclepie19 · 04/02/2020 17:28

@Avocuddles that is an idea.. ours only accepts referrals from doctors too but they did see me with my ds1 after I rang.
Last pregnancy they wouldn't though even with bleeding and pain.
I think I'll try one last morning of ringing the doctors and go from there.
Like you say, going from a bfp at 3+3 is just such a long time.
I'm 5+2 now and still have 4 weeks 1 day until my first scan.

Nooodles · 04/02/2020 19:11

Sending lots of love ladies, I can’t tell you how reassuring it is to read these posts and know that all these worries are normal between us all :) too many of you to tag now as I’ve not posted for a day 🤣 but I’m so happy to hear about the positive scans and scans booked in ... really hope everyone gets to see what we’re wishing for

Nooodles · 04/02/2020 19:14

Ok just as I type that, I went to the loo and had some pinkish blood as I wiped. Arghhhh. Totally freaking out now. :( :(

SammiLou2312 · 04/02/2020 19:36

@Nooodles try not to worry to much...some spotting can be normal...if it gets worse/doesn't stop and you are getting cramps call the epu for advice. They might be able to get you in for an early scan. Sending virtual hugs of support and crossing my fingers for your sticky little bean x

avocadoincident · 04/02/2020 20:52

@Nooodles can you ring your epu first thing in the morning?

Nooodles · 04/02/2020 21:04

Thank you @SammiLou2312

SW83 · 04/02/2020 21:18

Virtual hugs too Noodles! Sending warm thoughts to you and fingers crossed everything is ok xxx

Rachael321 · 04/02/2020 21:43

Evening ladies! I really am awful at keeping up with this, must try harder!!!

Had my first scan today!! Dated at 11+5 (I thought was 12+2 so not far off)
All looked well!! A little wriggler that wouldn't stay still long enough in the right position! Got there eventually. After having me in all sorts of positions thinking this is how I ended up pregnant Blush

Also had my flu jab today, anyone else had theirs behaving theirs?

SammiLou2312 · 05/02/2020 07:31

@Rachael321 😂 your post properly made me chuckle. So glad you had a good scan x

@Nooodles how you doing this morning? Thinking about you and sending best wishes and good luck vibes your way x

HighHopes20 · 05/02/2020 08:18

@Nooodles Hope you’re feeling better this morning x
@Rachael321 Congrats on your scan - so when is your due date??

Rachael321 · 05/02/2020 08:30

@Highhopes20 due date is 20th August Grin
@SammiLou2312 it was comical 😂

TunnocksTcake · 05/02/2020 09:15

@Nooodles I hope you are feeling ok this morning and the spotting has stayed as spotting! If its pink I am sure everything is fine

@Rachel321 so glad you had a good scan, I hope you are feeling relieved.

I actually slept through the night! Woohoo! Don't feel better for it yet but I guess I will need another good nights sleep. Made myself go to the gym for some gentle cardio after work which probably did the trick. Definitely feeling more sick this morning....
