@IrishPeaches I've been in pain all night and through the morning. Rang up and they said it sounds like early labour. Need to wait it out a bit. I didn't have a sweep Monday as she was running late but she was going to come this afternoon so we'll see.

I know how you feel tho. It's that last bit that's so hard!!

Sushirolls · 19/02/2020 12:30

Crossing everything for you, @IrishPeaches Flowers

Also crossing everything for you, @Lcw29 Flowers

I hope everyone else is doing ok. It's so quiet on the thread, hopefully it means your LO's are making an appearance 🤞

DGS1 & DGS2 are absolutely amazing!! 💙💙💙 So proud of DGS1 he's only just 17 months himself 💙 lots of big changes for him, moving out of ours and then having a baby brother x

Still no baby here! I've had two sweeps now and according to the midwife, my cervix is exactly the same as it was before the first sweep. I've got an induction date for next Thursday. With both of my other two, I went into labour the day before I was supposed to be induced. I have lost my mucus plug though.

@Lcw29 that sounds promising! I hope it isn't a false alarm!

@Sushirolls I did laugh at dgs1 licking/kicking dgs2!

@GoodshipSerenity I'm so pleased you've been referred. You've got a lot to cope with and I hope you get some support that you obviously need. Have you had the dna results back yet?

Is anyone else constantly boiling hot? DH and I are constantly arguing over the temperature in the car, opening/closing the bedroom window at night and having the heating on/off! Obviously hormones aren't helping but it's making me hate him even though I know I'm the strange hot one!

hiimmumma · 19/02/2020 13:38

Hello! Can I join this thread?
I'm due DS2 on Tuesday (25th)
But I really want him to hang in a few days until end of next week so I can have another week off whilst DS1 is at nursery!

CupCupGoose · 19/02/2020 14:23

Hi @hiimumma! How old is your ds1? Was he on time/early/late? How's your pregnancy been so far?

IrishPeaches · 19/02/2020 14:27

Thanks @Sushirolls xx

Welcome @hiimmumma !!

@Lcw29 ah sounds promising!!! Wishing you luck that is all progresses well and baby is soon in your arms.

I WAS boiling hot @CupCupGoose but guess who's boiler has decided to pack up today of all days? No heating or hot water in our house right now - what amazing timing haha. I said to DH I bet I go into labour tonight before it's all fixed....that would be perfect. At least maternity units are always boiling 😂

hiimmumma · 19/02/2020 14:29

DS1 is 3.5 he was born 2 days before due date.
Pregnancy is fine. Been Lucky with both to be honest. No sickness just bad heartburn the past couple of weeks.

DS1 was 10lb but this one measuring much smaller so I only feel about 6months pregnant and I don't think it's really sunk in that he could come any day!

CupCupGoose · 20/02/2020 09:26

Oh no @IrishPeaches have you got someone out to fix it yet? We live rurally and get power cuts all the time and had a 5 hour one on my due date. So we had no electricity, hot water or heating. The phone signal went off too so I was panicking that I was going to go into labour. You don't realise just how much you rely on these modern comforts until they are gone!

@hiimmumma, I kkow what you mean about it it not having sunk in. I keep forgetting I'm pregnant. I don't think I actually realise I'm going to have a baby soon! Do you have everything ready?

I'm still loosing my mucus plug. Honestly don't remember there being so much of it with the other two!

hiimmumma · 20/02/2020 10:00

@CupCupGoose
I'm pretty much ready. It wouldn't be disastrous is he came now but still want a bit more time to sort some final things out.
What's your due date? (Sorry joining this thread late so sure you've said!)

I was having pains last night and I thought something might be happening but apparently not.
Seeing the consultant today, consultant led due to size of DS1 and subsequent damage caused!

jldy2020 · 20/02/2020 11:44

Hi everyone,

Baby update!

DD1 was born on Monday evening, I was 40+4 so a little overdue but not too bad in the end.

We came home very late Tuesday so spent yesterday in a bit of a blur getting used to things! Baby is doing fine :)

Good luck everyone, I'll be checking back to see how everyone is doing - need our Feb babies to get a wriggle on!

Xx

hiimmumma · 20/02/2020 12:18

@jldy2020
Congratulations
Hope the birth went ok and you are all recovering nicely!
Is she your first?

Lcw29 · 20/02/2020 12:47

Nothing happened in the end. I'm still in pain but being induced tomorrow 9am.

Lcw29 · 20/02/2020 12:47

Congratulations @jldy2020!!!

CupCupGoose · 20/02/2020 13:54

Yay finally another baby! Congratulations @jldy2020! How are you both doing? How was your labour ect?

Aw you poor thing @Lcw29 have you manged to get any sleep? Good luck tomorrow, hopefully you'll have your baby (or be close to having your baby) this time tomorrow!

Lcw29 · 20/02/2020 13:58

Thanks @CupCupGoose
Sleep is a bit broken but looking forward to getting things going tomorrow. Will keep you all updated!

CupCupGoose · 21/02/2020 06:14

Good luck today @Lcw29 I hope it goes well, I will be thinking of you.

CupCupGoose · 22/02/2020 07:50

Sweep number 3 for me today.

IrishPeaches · 22/02/2020 12:56

Congratulations @jldy2020 !

I can now join the baby club.

My waters broke yesterday morning after second sweep and we finally welcomed a little (or not) 9 pound 3 boy this morning! He arrived back to back having done a little twirl some point in labour - not going to lie this was agony and so much worse than my first! He's here now though and we are just over the moon.

No name just yet! Just staring at his face lots and wondering what suits. Our shortlist has gone out the window now he's here.

Good luck with your sweep @cupcupgoose !!!!

GoodShipSerenity · 22/02/2020 22:20

@CupCupGoose no DNA results as yet, but they can take 6 weeks or more. Friday was a busy day with 3 outpatient appointments and we have it confirmed that Noah does have a hearing impairment. We are going back on the 4th March for further tests and to determine what kind of hearing aid is needed. My Peri-natal mental health appointment is 3rd March so not too long to wait now. However I feel as if I am not managing to do anything properly and I feel really daunted at the scale of appointments and care needed in the next year. Which makes me feel worse because I can juggle care of 6 people day in day out for work, and a newborn has beaten me. I want to stop this ride and get off, I don't want to do this anymore

LousiaHearth · 22/02/2020 23:10

Haha, this is ironic, my due date was today, the my little Aaron- Joesph popped out 2 weeks early! That was a surprise for my husband to say the least!

jldy2020 · 23/02/2020 07:27

@Lcw29 thanks! How are things going?

@hiimmumma yes this is my first!

@CupCupGoose The birth went ok, it was fairly quick for a first .After the baby was born the cord snapped on the placenta so did have to get it manually removed. How'd the sweep go?

@IrishPeaches congratulations! Sounds painful. Good lluck with choosing a name!

@louisahearth congratulations!

@GoodShipSerenity not too long until your peri-Natal appointment, hopefully they'll be able to help as it must all seem a bit daunting at the moment.

Lcw29 · 23/02/2020 16:10

Well I've been in antenatal since Friday morning . Had 24 hr pessery which softened cervix but that's it. Had 3 gels .was supposed to have seen doctor at midday but still waiting. My cervix is tilted so babies head not able to get in right position. Had pethideine twice as was in agony with back to back contractions . I've seen 5 women come and go before me so feeling pretty fed up now. Need doctor to say if hes is able to break waters....if not I'm tempted to ask for c section as I've had enough now....I dont really want the drip

Lcw29 · 23/02/2020 19:28

Doctor said it's a failed induction as my cervix just isn't opening. It's too posterior. C section tomorrow .

jldy2020 · 23/02/2020 21:12

@Lcw29 that must be getting so frustrating watching other people come and go. But won't be long now until you meet your little one!

CupCupGoose · 24/02/2020 12:06

Congratulations @IrishPeaches!

@Lcw29 so frustrating for you! Good luck with the csection today.
