February 2020 mums how prepared are you!?

Hey February mum's just wondering how your all doing preparing for your new arrivals?

Do you have everything you need yet?
Are things all set up and ready to go?

So baby Daniel Matthias Ezra , weighing 7lbs 6 was born via section at 11:50 . He's in neonatal as he had trouble breathing and has fluid on lungs. On ventilator but doing well. I haven't been able to see him yet as still numb from spinal.

I was a nervous wreck but ok now. Very surreal.

Congratulations @Lcw29! He is gorgeous! Hopefully it won't be long until you get to see him.

Am I the only person left? I hope I don't go into labour today as its very snowy and the roads are bad.

Due 27th Feb, getting frustrated now and hoping he will appear sooner rather than later!

Any tips on recognising early signs of labour or is it a case of once it starts its obvious!

@AMos16 with both of my labours it started with contractions and was obviously labour after I'd had a few in a row. Honestly you will know! Have you got everything ready for your baby? I'm getting induced on the 27th.

@Lcw29 have you got any ideas when you and Daniel will be discharged? Hope you aren't in too much pain.

@cupcupgoose I'm still pregnant. Due tomorrow but I don't think he's coming just yet, maybe the end of the week. Just hoping it's not the 29th..

Aaron~Joesph just got rushed into ANE because he cut open his lip, falling on his face, I feel like such a failure of a mum and I know it’s my fault, I turned around to get his high~chair, and I heard a scream and My poor baby is in a pool of blood! This is all my fault, my husband, Jason, has tried to console me but I know it’s my fault, I’ve just got home because my husband told me to, but it feels so wrong leaving him there..

Oh good, I'm glad I'm not the only person still pregnant! 8 days late now and getting a bit bored. I'm over analysing every little twinge and feeling very emotional. DH hid and shouted 'boo' when I came out of the bedroom today and I just started crying! (We are very childish and do stuff like this to each other all the time, he wasn't being horrible.)

Also, someone I know, who was due after me, had their baby today which is really frustrating!

@CupCupGoose - we have everything that we need, except the baby!
Due date approaching and had discussion with midwife about sweeping my membranes early next week to see if we can push things along a bit, but i still want to wait and see if he will come out on his own.

Ive been doing a load of reading about iducing and it seems to lead to more complications so im avoiding this, the sweeping though seems the best option. Hopefully he will appear early next week!

@CupCupGoose Don’t worry! I was like that when I had all my kids, I’m only 24 and already have 2 little ones haha. My husband, JJ, as I like to call him, said it was like treading on eggshells around me, I hope it all goes well for you and your baby! You too @AMos16

Due day today for me but not even a flutter.
DS1 was 2 days early so this is new territory now.
I am actually enjoying the extra few days of peace now half term is over but just really hope he's not so late that I need to be induced - trying to go drug free this time round!!

Hey guys, I went to the midwife this morning for routine appt. My BP was high and traces of protein in my urine showing signs of pre-eclampsia. I was sent upto the hospital for monitoring. They tested my BP 5x which stayed slightly high but then urine and bloods came back normal so have been sent home and given an appt to go back Friday for examining with a view to induce as ita my due date. Arrgghh exciting!! xx

Oh no @Soda123x hope you're okay! Are you feeling alright?

I'm feeling very emotional and anxious today. I'm being induced tomorrow. I have to call at 9am to see what time. I hope they ask me to come in in the morning. Because of my last quick labour and me living so far away from the hospital, I don't want to go into labour naturally. I don't want to be induced either but I just want to be at the hospital. Hope that makes sense. I'm going to try and have an early night tonight as my anxiety is through the roof.

@CupCupGoose yeah I'm feeling fine. I'm still chilled atm but I'm sure when Friday comes round and I'm waiting for the phone call to go in all the emotions will be running through me lol.

I'm at the hospital. Had the pessary at 2 and now having painful tightenings every 10 mins. Not too bad at the moment, I'm mainly just bored!

So a little update. We came home yesterday which is great but had to go back today aside needed a check over. I have a womb infection so got antibiotics. Doctor says should help quickly. No wonder I was in more pain than I thought lol

Went in for a sweep today and I'm not dilated at all. Feel quite disheartened as I thought I would be at least 1cm and this would kickstart things.
Actually came home and cried which is very uncharacteristic of me!

Anyway pulled myself together now trying to enjoy the extra time with DS1 (who is poorly).
Got over a week yet before I have to have either induction or c-section.

Another sweep Monday and seeing consultant on Wednesday.

Well DS is finally here! Less than 3 hour labour, shoulder dystocia but by some miracle I have no tears or stitches. He was born yesterday, I'm so pleased he wasn't born on the leap year! How are you getting on @hiimumma

Sounds like a good labour (as good as they can be) hope you can get home soon.

I'm doing ok managed to get a big walk in today.
I think I've started to lose the mucus plug but very slowly. With DS1 it was constant and I was in full blown labour that night but at least it's a sign things are progressing!
Not going to be a February baby though..
