The not knowing is so frustrating!

Sounds like a lot of us are at the sweep stage for one reason or another! Mine couldn't be completed as the head was too low.

Maybe this will be the weekend for some more Feb babies!

CupCupGoose · 15/02/2020 14:22

Back from my sweep. Really uncomfortable now but the midwife said my cervix is still long so doubt it will do anything. I'm 1cm dilated. I'm going back Tuesday for another. Wishing everyone Labour vibes!

CupCupGoose · 15/02/2020 14:23

@jldy2020 the head was too low?! That's got to be a good sign though?

Sushirolls · 15/02/2020 14:25

Sorry I've not been on, it's been manic here!! I'm just off to take DD to hospital for her induction. Hopefully DGS2 will be here soon & without complications. DGS1 was a traumatic birth and yesterday, DD's mw said that DGS2 has turned back to back 🙈 and popped back out of her pelvis - little monkey!

Good luck to all who have had sweeps, hope they work soon Flowers x

IrishPeaches · 15/02/2020 15:01

Well still no baby here. 48 hours have passed since sweep and although it looked promising, I'm still pregnant. Sigh.

I did lose more plug this morning (didn't think there was any left to lose to be honest) but that means nothing I know.

Hope the sweeps are more successful for others!

@cupcupgoose we have got back up options thankfully. Just would rather not have to use them . Got my fingers crossed for you to go into labour today or tomorrow!!!!

IrishPeaches · 15/02/2020 15:06

@jldy2020 why couldn't they do it if the baby's head was so low out of interest? My MW said my baby's head is very low but she did my sweep and said she was tickling it!! Confused

jldy2020 · 15/02/2020 16:02

@IrishPeaches @CupCupGoose I didn't explain it very well! She tried but the cervix was behind the head, and the head was so low she couldn't reach it if that makes sense!

@Sushirolls hope the induction goes well today

CupCupGoose · 15/02/2020 16:39

@IrishPeaches aw I'm disappointed for you. It sounded so promising with all the symptoms you were getting. When's your next appointment?

@jldy2020 I think I know what you mean. That must be a good sign!

@Sushirolls hope the induction is going well.

HorseMum91 · 15/02/2020 17:08

Hi all,
I’m 39 weeks tomorrow and have an induction booked for my due date which I’m trying to avoid!!
I went for a sweep on Thursday but baby’s head wasn’t low enough to do it, so I’m going back on Tuesday for another try. Hoping that baby will play ball, although they certainly seem quite happy in there at the moment. I fear an eviction notice may have to be served.

IrishPeaches · 15/02/2020 19:42

Ah @HorseMum91 fingers crossed the next sweep works! Is this your first?

@CupCupGoose my next sweep is booked in for Thursday - whole week after my last. Wish I could go in Monday for another try to be honest 😂

Our babies are just being cooked to perfection clearly!!

@jldy2020 that makes sense! Frustrating though, hopefully things get moving for you soon!!!!

Sushirolls · 15/02/2020 20:00

🤞🤞🤞 Those sweeps help soon x

Nothing really happening for DD 😫 so her DP has gone home to watch their little one and my DH will bring him back, if he needs to.

They are all certainly very comfy in there, aren't they!! X

Sushirolls · 16/02/2020 06:25

DGS2 flew into the world at lightning speed at 2:02am this morning, weighing 7lbs 1oz 💙 He is the spit of his big brother, and I'm in love all over again 💙💙💙 Both he & DD are snoozing away! (I'm still in the hospital with them Smile ).

Fingers crossed that things happen for you all, soon 🤞🤞🤞💞

Lcw29 · 16/02/2020 08:05

Awww @Sushirolls he is gorgeous! Well done to your daughter!

IrishPeaches · 16/02/2020 09:25

Ah congrats to you and DD @Sushirolls - he's a beaut!!!! Hope the labour went as well as it could.

Thanks
CupCupGoose · 16/02/2020 09:35

@HorseMum91 at least you know you've got a max of a week to go. Hopefully your babies head will be low enough for a sweep on Tuesday!

@Sushirolls congratulations to you and your dd, he's gorgeous! How long was she in labour for? I'm glad we've finally got another baby! It's about time!

@jldy2020 I'm glad I don't have to wait another week, although from what I've read, I think the official guidelines are to wait a week between sweeps. I don't think sweeps work for me anyway after having 4 failed sweeps with my last baby. Its interesting to know how my cervix is ect though. The midwife told me yesterday that although my cervix is still quite long, it's very soft so she thinks I'll have another quick labour. Not what I wanted to hear!

@GoodshipSerenity how are you and noah doing?

CupCupGoose · 16/02/2020 09:38

Sorry I was supposed to tag you @IrishPeaches instead of @jldy2020 in my last post.

GoodShipSerenity · 16/02/2020 10:29

Yay for another baby @Sushirolls he is gorgeous!

Sorry I've been absent a bit. We were getting used to being home and then on Wednesday Noah started having blood in his poo, we managed to get a GP appointment for Friday and we were sent as an expected arrival to A+E. After a few hours there we think Noah has a CMPA and so has been switched to Neocate. Poor baby is in so much pain trying to poo and after feeds. And then yesterday I noticed Noah's eyes don't point in the same direction and his hips started clicking when I was moving his legs at nappy change. I feel like we are collecting any problems possible at the moment. And I really regret having another child.

After speaking with and being honest with my midwife I have been referred to Peri-natal mental health.

I hope the rest of you are well and more babies start arriving soon.

jldy2020 · 16/02/2020 10:49

@Sushirolls congratulations to you and DD!

@GoodShipSerenity sorry to hear Noahs had some other problems, it must be difficult for you at the moment. You did the right thing being honest with your midwife, hopefully peri-natal mental health can help you with how you're feeling. Do you have much support around you?

IrishPeaches · 16/02/2020 10:50

I'm so sorry you are going through all this @GoodShipSerenity but well done for reaching out for help. What strength you have shown. I hope things start looking up soon for you all and that all the stress of this time will ease. I'm sure it will all start getting easier with some help and support xx

@CupCupGoose sweeps seem to be very hit and miss! I think nothing actually works unless baby is primed and ready to make an arrival anyway.... that's right at least you have more information now. I really hope you're next one does the trick! I'm taking comfort in the fact that either way I will have a baby by next Tuesday. Just was really hoping to go into labour spontaneously this time but can't help it if it doesn't happen. X

IrishPeaches · 16/02/2020 10:53

@cupcupgoose also meant to say, try not to stress about it the prospect of a quick labour! You never know exactly what will happen. I know that's not easy to do. Do you have a plan for it? Anyone who can help locally in case DH isn't there? X

Lcw29 · 17/02/2020 08:32

Well I even ate a whole fresh pineapple yesterday to get labour started 🤣🤣 along with a few other things.... been cramping all night so now just have sweep later at 3pm . Really hoping it will work as I'm a bit frightened of induction. Last time was a bit traumatic as I bled. But never had induction before.

Hope babies come soon for all of us

Sushirolls · 17/02/2020 10:14

@GoodShipSerenity sending a virtual hug Flowers I'm glad that you felt able to reach out x I'm sorry to hear that little Noah has more problems x I hope you're getting the support you need x

Thank you for the congratulations 🎉 it all happened very quickly in the end! DD had the pessary and nothing happened at all, for hours, so DH collected her DP as we thought we were in for the night and then he had to rush him back cos everything suddenly kicked off 🙈 DD was in labour for the grand total of 1 hour & 10 minutes!!! 😱 She had a couple of tears (one being her urethra), as it was so quick. DGS2 was 7lbs 1oz 💙 He was predicted 7lbs 4oz the Friday the week before, when DD had her scan lol

She came home yesterday & DGS1 is being amazing with him, though for some reason he gave him a kick, along with a kiss 😂😂😂 (DGS1 turned 17 months this week) 💙💙💙

I have got everything crossed for you all, that your darlings arrive soon 🤞🤞🤞

@Lcw29 I hope the cramps ramp up soon 🤞🤞 x

Sushirolls · 17/02/2020 10:15

Lick not kick!!! 🙈😂

IrishPeaches · 19/02/2020 11:01

Any more babies yet? I'm 41 weeks today and feeling down... another sweep tomorrow then waters being popped on Monday - just wanted to go into labour spontaneously this time. Frustrated my body doesn't seem to know what to do but I know as long as baby arrives safely and healthily then that's all that matters.

Hoping @cupcupgoose quietness possibly means baby...?!

@Lcw29 how are you getting on?

IrishPeaches · 19/02/2020 11:03

@Sushirolls wow that is a quick labour! Hope DD recovering. I bet your two GS are going to be so close, will be lovey to see x
