This is a safe space and supportive thread for anyone who is pregnant following a loss. We all understand the worry and anxiety that can come from being pregnant again following miscarriage/stillbirth.

Please feel free to join, even if you were not on the original TTC thread.

Starting the roll call copied from the last thread. Not everyone is on there, so please add to it/update/edit.
Also, thought it might be fun if we add Girl/Boy/Surprise on there too, so we can see who's expecting what

Thinking of you @InDreamland

InDreamland · 12/02/2020 13:33

Been told I'm going to be induced cos of bleeding, not sure how to process this. DH still on his way from central London.

Catconfusion · 12/02/2020 13:40

@InDreamland It must be a shock but sounds necessary under the circumstances. I hope your husband makes it there very soon. Thinking of you! xx

Bluebelltulip · 12/02/2020 13:47

Hope your induction goes well @InDreamland, it's a lot to take in but you will have your baby soon.

ChikiTIKI · 12/02/2020 13:51

Hope it goes well @InDreamland will be thinking of you. Remember it's untimately your choice what happens and you can have a c section if you want to. Hope your husband can get to you soon xxxx

ChikiTIKI · 12/02/2020 13:53

P. S. I bled quite a bit when mucus plug went apparently (I couldn't sit up to see it as too drugged up at that point).

Kayjay2018 · 12/02/2020 13:53

@InDreamland I think the whole board is with you on the labour ward (in a virtual sense) so use us to share any worries and thoughts. I hope DH has a safe and speedy journey to be by your bedside. The hospital will be doing the best for you and baby, make sure DH asks and gets answers for any questions you have. I hope your induction goes well- thinking of you team yellow buddy 💛

sadtoday21 · 12/02/2020 13:55

Wishing you the best of luck for your induction @InDreamland! I know it must be scary, but you are in the best of care right now and DH will be there soon. Were they concerned about anything in particular with the bleeding or is it just a precaution because you are near term anyway? I think at 38+ weeks induction is very common and baby is ready to come anyway, so try not to worry. We are all here for you and routing for you! You can do it! Xxx

Twitwooo · 12/02/2020 14:13

Good luck @InDreamland ! Hope your husband gets there soon

TinyPaws · 12/02/2020 14:24

@InDreamland That must have been a very stressful morning but you are now in the right place and hopefully going to meet your little one soon. Hope your husband arrives quickly and safely, and I hope the same is true for your little one!

@Josiemae2013 I don't have experience of your situation but I hope things work out well for you. If you want to look at other people's hcg levels/doubling times you could have a look at www.betabase.info but ultimately I think you are in for an anxious weight no matter what you do or don't read online. x

InDreamland · 12/02/2020 14:50

Thanks ladies. Sorry to not reply individually and for the selfish posts. Head is all over the place. DH just at home now picking stuff up for me as I only came with my notes and handbag so he should be here soon. Reading the info from induction to birth could take a few days and I'm basically not going home until Bubsy is born. Feeling sorry for myself right now. They said because I'm 39+1 and had been in for reduced movements a couple of times and the bleeding it's best to induce, just waiting now for first pessary. Moved to a different antenatal ward. Feel like I gonna be here forever.

Thank you all so much for all your support, it means a lot to me.

Rubyroost · 12/02/2020 15:58

You'll be fine, this is good. They're doing what is best for baby and he will be here soon. Xx

frillyfarmer · 12/02/2020 16:36

@InDreamland I was induced with my first under similar circumstances. The fact that you are there and being monitored is great - you are in the best place.

The propess pessaries I was given took a good 30hours to dilate my cervix enough to make it possible to break my waters, and I was monitored constantly during that time. It's a little bit daunting when you haven't mentally prepared for induction but you will be fine and you absolutely honestly are in the best place. There is nothing to say your labour will be as drawn out as mine was - the bleeding can sometimes indicate the start of labour so you might have a baby in your arms quicker than you think. Everyone's experience of labour is different, but just remember you are still in charge and if you don't understand anything, just ask them to explain it again for you.

I hope your DH arrives quickly and that he brings some comfort to you when he does arrive. I'm sure everyone on this thread is with you in spirit xxxx

MyHeartIsBrokeButIHaveSomeGlue · 12/02/2020 16:58

Just checking in as more support for @InDreamland. You're in the right place! We are all with you and sending love. I am being optimistic that you will be posting an exciting update soon! xxx

@josiemae2013 I have had similar experience and I'm sorry to say mine was ectopic. I'm sorry to say it will be a waiting game until they can see more on a scan as that's the only way to really tell. Hoping for a better outcome for you xxx

@tinatsarina great to hear from you! Hope all continues to go smoothly.

fnej01 · 12/02/2020 19:05

@indreamland hope all is progressing nicely and look forward to your lovely update soon.

@sadtoday I am planned csection so decided it probably wasn't necessary. Have you talked at all to your midwife about it? I know they don't do it routinely but I do know a work colleague who was swabbed for it previously.

Sorry am so behind with this thread so need to have a good read but hope all are ok.

I have just rang out antenatal triage as baby has had hiccups lots today, and I wasn't sure how common that was at 34 weeks. They have reassured me it's very normal but to call back tomorrow if I am still concerned... just freaked me out a little so thought I would check. This last trimester is really nerve wracking 😬

Rubyroost · 12/02/2020 20:15

@fnej01 mine hiccups all the way to the end for an hour at a time sometimes. He was like the midwife said... A hiccupy baby.

Rubyroost · 12/02/2020 20:15

I meant hiccupped, my current toddler.

fnej01 · 12/02/2020 20:29

@Rubyroost thanks that's good to know I was just worried as this baby hasn't had many hiccups to this point then had 4 long lots today.

tinatsarina · 12/02/2020 21:02

@InDreamland just saw your update hopefully your husband will be with you soon and you are in the best place.

InDreamland · 12/02/2020 21:17

Thanks ladies. I really appreciate your support. DH arrived at 3:30pm but gone home now to get dinner and proper sleep. I'm really hoping the bleeding fully stops, it eased off and midwife was happy when pessary went in at 4pm. Guess I just have to try and relax and be patient now but I'm crap at doing that. I won't lie, I'm shit scared. Just want my baby here healthy now.

@fnej01 this baby has had hiccups most days in the past couple of months and they go on for ages.

Mistymeow · 12/02/2020 21:30

Popping online to wish @indreamland the best of luck. I will be getting induced being on insulin and from what I can gather a lot of first babies are. I hope the bleeding eases off but it sounds like they are not concerned- it’s good they are encouraging baby along. Not nice for you but just keep talking to your midwife if you need reassurance- that’s what they’re there for. Hope you can get some rest and that you meet your baby soon!

MyHeartIsBrokeButIHaveSomeGlue · 12/02/2020 21:31

You can do this @InDreamland!! We are all rooting for you and Bubsy! I'm going to be checking for updates when I wake up for each night feed 😂 Seriously though, you are in the best possible place so try and stay calm and focus on doing what you need to to get your little one into the world xxx

Rubyroost · 12/02/2020 21:42

Of course you're shit scared, that's natural. I was also shit scared when I was induced without the blood. They'll monitor you and baby's heartbeat when they induce you and if there are issues they'll get baby out with a c section. Once it all starts properly, you'll just forget everything and focus on the birthing. Sending my thoughts to you. It's shut waiting for those pessaries to work. Have some codeine of you need it, I resisted til the second night, but was glad of it in the end. X

tinatsarina · 13/02/2020 07:40

@InDreamland how are things this morning? Any progress?

TwittleBee · 13/02/2020 09:48

@InDreamland I am so hoping all is okay with you and Bubsy. Either you managed to get a good night sleep in despite everything so you're refreshed for labour ahead or you're already pushing now (or with a healthy babe in your arms) x

@fnej01 hiccups feel so funny dont they! I didn't know what was going on when I first felt hiccups haha
